I am now on day 10 over due. I eventually got back to bed and to sleep at 6 this morning and slept till half 9. Just 1.5days left until this baby is getting a shove. Atleast my mum is off now until next Monday so she is going to pop over today so I'll have a bit of company. It's so incredibly boring and lonely this waiting malarkey!

Nice to hear from you Lexi and glad all is well minus the tongue tie. When do they expect to sort that out for him?

I am soooo determined to brest feed and all I hear is people saying that I shouldn't count on it and how hard it is and how I might not ever be able to do it.
I appreciate reality, but would also appreciate some positivity from someone other than my husband, my mum and you ladies on the forum! Although at least the two most important people are positive!

Sweep done, apparently He's now fully engaged, 1 cm dialated, cervical is thick and softening, 50% effaced

Any idea if any of that means baby will be here soon?

Nothing happen since sweep other than baby wriggling, going to get on the ball and see if anything starts!

Lexi been wondering how you've been doing, hopefully things will start to quieten down. How long will it take to fix the tongue tie? My friends daughter had one and it took them 6 weeks to get it done due to mix ups and by then her milk had dried up

That is so unfair of those people you know! Loads of women breastfeed, there was a time when everyone breastfed. Why wouldn't it work for you? I've got nothing against formula, I grew up on formula milk myself, but I hate it when people try to talk you out of breastfeeding. Some women try it and stop quickly because they have difficulties with it, but that's no reason to go and tell others they shouldn't try it!
People who love you should encourage you in your choice...
I'd recommend finding a breastfeeding group where you can get advice and support when needed. It really helped me a lot with my son. Sometimes you think something's wrong and it turns out to be normal, like their weight gain is different from formula fed babies...

Just go for it girl, you can do it!

It wasn't as bad (or embarrassing) as I imagined! Yeah it was my first, nothing's happened but I feel a bit heavier down there since! I've been on my ball and trying nipple stimulation but I'm not hopeful, got another sweep booked for Tuesday! How you feeling?

Glad everyone is doing well. My wife is also on Iron tablets and has been for the last 6 weeks, she takes 3 a day, not sure what they're called. Saw midwfe yesterday baby's head is not engaged but just sitting at 'the brim' as she put it!

10 days before official due date. We're due in hospital on Thursday and was told the next available induction slot would go to my wife, so depending on how busy the labour ward is it could actually be Thursday as her appointment is 9am! Fingers crossed he comes before all this though..

Good luck to everyone, especially the overdues! Thankfully we don't have to face that!

SCL, I can't believe anyone would be so discouraging and negative about breastfeeding. I have been nursing for almost 5 years straight (this November!) and it can be an adjustment at first but then it's magic. It's so easy, portable, always the right temperature, always available when you're with your kid. And tailor-made to your specific baby. You'll do great!

Lexi my daughter has a lip tie and breastfeeding was excruciating at first. My nipples were cracked and bleeding, it was so hard. But we got through it and she nursed until she was 3.5. You'll get to a good place with baby George too!

Summer so sorry the full moon didn't work its magic for you.

Hi girls meet my Jack

Labour was over 4 days! Starting really slow with contractions all over the place.
Thursday at 6am i was 4cm dilated at hosp when my waters broke.... He was born at 11am
No stiches just gas and air and he was a great healthy weight of 8.3

My back bum is sore.... Any suggestions of soothing remedies? Cant sit proberly bcos of piles.

Sit on cushions or you can buy donut cushions which are designed for piles x

Nicki did your midwife give you a bishops score?
I know I'm very favourable for am induction as my cervix is ready just baby is being stubborn so atleast I know Sunday when I go in it won't be a failed induction.

I've not been too bad today my mum was here the whole afternoon when she left 30mins later oh was home so that was nice.

I'm just wondering what to do with myself tomorrow. The oh will be off to work at 1pm and not back until 11 and it'll be my last day and evening at home as just me as I know the next time I walk back through the door there will be 3 of us. Feel like I should do something just not sure what!
