*****August 2014 Mummies*****

Hi all! Wenchy- that's going to be me in a few weeks with Ethan and this little one!,Eeek!
Hope u r coping ok and recovering well?

Hi afield! Glad antenatal was useful :-) We have decided on a name but it took a good while to agree! Lol!

Harspray- that's a bit silly isn't it? Do they really need that information now?!

Mrsm- lovely bump pic! Looks lower to me? Don't worry too much about that meaning baby will be early, they can engage weeks before birth first time round. How many more weeks at work now? Maybe talk to mw about whats best in terms of stopping? Is your bp ok? R u getting enough sleep? Just save some energy for labour and those early weeks hun- don't burn out now xxx

I'm having a bit more low down pressure today and fanny daggers too! Period cramps first thing this morning but not too bad now! Can't believe I'm 39 weeks on Thursday! Xx

Hansam I finally got through to easyJet. They said to just book the adult tickets for now then add baby when they arrive. Phew!

Two weeks on Friday left at work, finish on the 8th. Want to try and avoid leaving early if I can as I still have training to do with my replacement and some bits I want to tie up. See the mw next week. BP and iron was fine last Monday at hospital and I feel fine just really tired no matter how much sleep I get. Got terrible lower back ache and daggers! Hurt all over ATM just need to man up, think it's the heat that just isn't helping me at all

Bless u! U sound like you've still got a fair bit on! Heat def does not help! End is in sight hun- u will get there! U can take paracetomol if you feel u need something for your back xx

Hi all have been reading the thread but not posted for ages so just to say hi really! This heat is unbearable I'm struggling badly at the moment. Hopefully we'll have some more August babies before long ax we are all suffering in one way or another it seems..36 weeks for me don't think I can cope if I go any later than 40 weeks! X

Viewed a house tonight and we are desperate to move in to it, it is sooooooo perfect!!!!!! We want to move ASAP so unfortunately we will have to pay two rents but we are just so desperate to move. We will be able to move in for the baby and then we can finish off the decorating in the old house before we have to give the keys back at the end of August

Argggggh woke for my 3am pee & having more bloody show. Knew something wasn't right yesterday when going to bed. Felt quite sick & generally weird. Now can't get back to sleep cos 1, it's far too got & 2, I'm worried I'll be in labour & not catch it in time to get to hosp to have my c sec. Haha it's madness as I'm not having contractions & live 5 mins away from hosp. Maybe more anxious about the birth this time round after all!! Anyone else getting quite worried? Xx

How u doing coco? Have u called for advice? Any contractions yet? Try not to panic hun- u will get there!

C4rl4r- did u get any sleep at all??

Mrsm- everything crossed for u to get that house!

Hoping for no2- hope this last bit goes quick for u and that u don't go overdue coz I know how hard that is!

Xxx

Morning ladies,

Sounds like an eventful night for some!

I have my 34 week midwife appointment today. Its the dreaded breastfeeding question time. I have decided, for personal/health reasons, to not even attempt it. I know some of us may think this is selfish but I have my reasons and I am perfectly prepared for formula feeding. I just don't want a huge lecture about BFing from the MW. I know it is better but I don't feel I can do it. It will cause more problems than it provides benefits. I can feel myself getting hysterical about it already.

I hope I have an open minded midwife today. I have not seen the same one twice so far so I have no idea who I will see or how they personally feel about it.

Does anyone have any tips on how to tackle this? I have beaten myself up about it for weeks so I think I might crack if I am told I have to try it

Hope we all had a good night and it doesn't get too hot today!

When I struggled to breast feed and had to switch to formula after one week I was so worried about what the midwife would say. Oh was prepared to ask her to leave if she was at all funny with me as I was at my wits end and already feeling guilty about it so didn't need a lecture from her! She was lovely and said it was completely my choice and what was most important us that bubs and me were both happy. I was so relieved! Hopefully you're midwife will just support your decision but don't be afraid to tell her its your choice and that's the end if the matter if she isn't hon. Best of luck xx

I did start to get a few cramps & tightenings but fell back to sleep about 5:30 and woke up to a bit more show & loads of pressure again. Plus urge to empty bowels...now the cramps & show have stopped I didn't want to call. What do you reckon I should do?? I thought just wait for more cramps. I'm soooo breathless today!! Xx

I think maybe ring and explain the situation and ask them what they would like u to do? Just because I think a bloody show means that labour is days away at most- could b wrong though? At least if u ask then u know the plan!

Saxelby- just try to stay as calm as u can and be assertive. Hopefully there will be no pressure or making u feel guilty its totally your choice at the end of the day! (Sorry if I'm late with this and you've already been!) Xxx

Nope not been yet. 2:30pm appointment. I really hope she understands but not getting hopes too high. If she does start the 'talk' about it, I will let her tell me what she is obligated to say but then I will say its not for me thanks and elaborate if she needs information.

I will let you know how it goes. If an angry ranting thread appears you know it didn't go how I would like! x

Landlord will hold the house for us and haas cancelled all other viewings for now.

Tell mw to £&&(/(5£2?' Off if she lectures u about BF they are there to support u x

Thanks mum2be, will call them in a bit for advice. I just feel weird today, sicky, very hot & breathless now. Strange!!

Saxelby - hope all goes well with the MW, my mum is a health visitor & although she prefers breastfeeding herself & has to promote it, she does say at the end of the day it's the parents choice & they choose what is best for them. If you were to be forced into breastfeeding, you wouldn't be happy which would rub off on baby. Just tell the midwife - this is what you are doing, you have made your mind up & no one is going to change it for you xx

Hmm MW to keep a close eye on it but don't need to see me just yet as I don't think the cramps are very bad yet or regular. I bet this goes on for weeks!!! Xx

Well at least u have called hun! There can be no come back on u at all and u can just follow their advice!..... I'm sure I've read with the bloody show it can be only days away and with all the pressure u have u would really hope it isn't weeks :-/

Mrsm- that's fantastic news :-) So pleased for u! Bet that's a weight off your mind xxx
