*****August 2014 Mummies*****

Zoe there is quit useful information on spinning babies webside with some videos of different exercises. Hope baby will turn in time for delivery.

Thanks guys will give anything ago!
Think I just got abit emotional as he was head down from 22 weeks till 33 weeks so didn't think I would have to even think about it or worry trying not to panic but it scares me. Suppose will just have to try everything and if he doesn't turn deal with it then xx

Its hard when u don't expect it- and y would u?! I never expected to go to 42 weeks and get induced with my first but if it comes to it u will probably b surprised at how u deal with it all! I'm an anxious person and hubby said he was v surprised at how I just got on with it all and coped in the end! Whatever happens hun u will become a mummy soon and your baby will change your world for the better whether it b a natural birth or c section- in time u won't care! Stay strong hunny- there is still every chance he will turn!

Just back from midwife appt! Nice mw who I saw last pregnancy a few times. She decided not to prod about feeling babies position since consultant had only done so a few days ago and was happy he was head down! She didn't measure me either (think she may have just forgot- as did I!) When I measure myself I make bump 37cm which is on trend so not really worried!
Urine, bp and baby's heart rate all fine. So that's positive!
Talked about my postnatal care and because of my pnd history I will see mw 3 times at least and then health visitor weekly until I'm 6 weeks so that they can monitor me and pick up on any changes early. So I'm happy about that!
The not so great news is she thinks its pretty likely I will go 2 weeks overdue again :-( I knew it was likely and u all know I've said it from the start, its just hard when I think I've got 4 weeks left to the reality being 6 weeks! Feels like forever although it's not! She also said to expect a heavier baby by around 5oz- so that means this one will be over 9lb :-/
I've had a bit of a cry and feel ok about it all (its nothing new really but when mw actually says it it makes it all the more real iykwim?)
So onwards now and will see mw again in 2 weeks ( my choice) and then weekly afterwards until he's here and hopefully safely in my arms :-)

Hey everyone,
Happy Friday.
Went to Ikea yesterday to pick up some furniture for baby. OH was putting it up all evening!! Bless him. I felt really tired and in pain with my tummy!!

Saw the GP today. Regarding torn stomach muscles, she said theres nothing they can really do whilst pregnant. She said if it got that bad for me that I couldn't cope, they may even deliver baby early but that would be last resort. She's gave me anti flammatory cream to apply. She says Ive just got to take my time, not too much walking and lots of rest [easier said than done when you have a house to run, a family to look after & a baby to get ready for :)]
She checked my boobs and says they look and feel fine, the dimply, orange peel type skin could've been a fungal infection due to pregnancy hormones, overheating and sweating, she says it looks as tho my body fought it, but gave me cream for if it ever comes back.

keeptrying - Really hope your sickness eases, not nice to have it this far on!!

alanc - Glad all was well with your wife!

Baby bear - Aw hun sounds like you've been thru it these past few weeks!! Wow that they're delivering you at 31 weeks tho!!! Lots of love and luck to you hun, fingers crossed all goes well!!

Zoe - Ah don't worry about the housework hun, it'll get done eventually, concentrate on you right now!!

Mummybear - Ah they're so cute the matching tops aren't they :) Your pains sound very much like Braxton Hicks hun, and maybe babys head engaging? I've had similar today too. How you feeling now?

mum2b - Ah thanks for reading hun! Hope you managed to catch up on some rest after your bad night! How did your appt go?

Hope everyones having a good day!

Hi All.

Mum2B - how come she thinks you're going to go overdue? My sis was 2 weeks over with 1st like you, induced. second came bang on time and very quick.

Zoe - Did active birthing classes a bit back, she just recommended getting on all fours, spinning babies website is good for advice though quite technical.

Picked up mother care sale items I'd ordered online, then bought more stuff in store. Decided it's good knowing what gender as I could get him some shorts for spanish holiday next year when there prob won't be any shorts in shops. Then went for a pedicure as a treat, hope the gel nail polish lasts till after birth!!

Starting to get bruise like pain at top of bump, to sure what's causing it. Happy - what did you stomach muscle pain start like as some people online suggest it could be that? (sorry they can't do anything for you)

Off to stop at father in laws tonight (though he's on holiday) as the tour de france is coming through his village tomorrow. Roads close at 5am so means going over tonight, not sleeping well at mo' hoping a new bed will make a change.

Lianne- good that not serious re your boob check but shame not much can b done for tummy muscles :-/

Kaffee- she is just basing it on the fact that most people go into labour around the same time each pregnancy ( i think thats what she said!) Last time I saw her at about 39-40 weeks and said baby would b late coz he was 8lb+ and she reckons bigger babies tend to take their time!...... I'm clinging to the fact that I only got moved ahead 5 days this time round (not 10 like last time!) And that my mum only went 5 days over with me (I'm her second- she went 10 days over with my older brother). Got to b prepared for the long haul but its hard when everything is getting such a struggle :-(
Could your bruised feeling just be bubs pushing/kicking in the same place repeatedly? Hope it settles soon xxx

Oh right. Thought every birth was different and usually quicker second time. I reckon I'll be over too, I've got a big bubba. Be nice for it to happen naturally, but bet I'm induced. Trying to adopt mindset that he'll come when he's ready, reckon around 6th August which was my edd from lmp.

Yeah my edd from LMP was 4th of August!..... I think second labours are shorter, not necessarily labour starting any earlier unfortunately! Xx

Hey girls,

Zoe, I am really sorry it was put to you this way. No midwife should tell you what is allowed or not allowed, it is the other way around, you are the one who allow them to do anything to your body. Baby can still move, my girl was breech til 34 weeks then turned. I personally would go for vaginal breech but I understand that these days everyone is very anti vaginal breech, so all I would say is try and read as much as you can. I agree that the website spinning babies is fantastic, there is so much you can try, from positions, to reflexology, to moxibustion.... But whatever happens I really hope everything is explained and that you and OH are both happy with decisions , you will be ok I am sure you will cope better than you think :hugs:

Mum2b, I am too sorry the midwife said you were likely to go over by 2 weeks again, it would be interesting to know where she got this information from as I have never heard of it. Each pregnancy is unique , I understand statistically 1st babies take a bit longer but not heard of 2nds following the same pattern? I am so sorry it made you cry, she could be right, but baby will come when he is ready hun, we'll be here if you do go over and need support :)

Kaffee I havEthe same, a bruised feeling on top right of bump, had it for about 4 weeks now, really feel it when driving or using my tummy muscles in any way , I do think is where baby kicks me repeatedly, so when she is pushing the sore bit I gently press it down to take the pressure off and that has helped a bit.

Happy, I also have split RS muscle, when I have a BH you can see a huge gap between the 2 sides of my bump, it is horrible, I will def need physio after, but luckily mine isn't sore as I think it has happened slowly over the 3 pregnancies.

Xxx

Oh my god serious nesting going on in my house today. I am completely & utterly pooped. SPD is soooo painful this eve & leg has gone completely numb. The joys of pregnancy! Anyone else had a really mad nesting day yet? I haven't sat down. Last pregnancy I had a mad nesting day but I'm sure it was closer to due date so I hope that doesn't mean this one is coming soon xx

Thank u mummy_midwife! Its nice to know it's perhaps not as definite as she thinks! .....I feel like I need to send a cheque in the post to u for all your time and advice this pregnancy!! Thank u hun xxx

Coco- I haven't gone mad nesting yet but I think that's more coz my time is largely taken up by Ethan! I very strong urges to get everything sorted and organised from the nursery to the garden but I'm fighting it coz my pelvic pain really plays up if i overdo it :-/ Sounds like u r the same! Make sure u rest up- numbness in your leg isn't good! ..... Any nesting I had last time didn't mean a thing regarding baby arriving so don't panic!! X

That made me giggle mum2b, if you need to send a cheque I need to send you 2 :p
Coco, I have not had any nesting whatsoever, but then my mind has been consumed by other things... Having said that I do wish things were sorted in the house but they aren't.
Today I did a couple of hours of tidying up and pelvis is now reminding me why I shouldn't be doing too much... Frustration to the maximum :/ I still hope that like you I will get nesting soon x

Mummy_midwife- in no way do u owe me! U have been far more helpful :p

Anyone got sore/achy boobs again? Just noticed it today really! Right one a bit more than left xx

No way ! :p

My boobs have always been sore since week 5, never stopped being sore, but I think I have just got used to them being tender so I barely give it any thought. I bought 2 feeding bras and will buy the rest once my milk is in as find the measurements during pregnancy completely off what my boobs' size actually grow to once baby is here.

The other thing I am getting is a spanx for using afterwards ( I bought one last time but a year on I went on a brilliant night out with a friend wearing it underneath my dress... Half way through the night the spanx got so umcomfy I took it off and put it in the bin after many drinks) so I now need a new one :( I don't like the look or reviews of the post-pregnancy girdles available so spanx it will be. Anyone else have any thoughts on them? X

I've not had any nesting urges at all I'm complete opposite no motivation. We were ment to be in our house by now but the builders have been delayed with planning so more than likely will be at my mums with the bub :( xxx

I haven't really thought about spanx! Probably because I think I will be too hot/sweaty to wear them until at least October (I get hot and sweat v easily- not nice!) And its not really something I can dedicate money to at the mo!..... Don't get me wrong I think they do a great job and would consider them later depending on how the weight loss goes etc! Do u think wearing them will prompt you to work on your trans abs afterwards? Or is it purely a support thing? Xx

It is Very hot to wear it, you are so right. I will purely use it because I did last time and made my clothes look a lot nicer on and felt like it was holding everything in?? Here is a pic of me a few days after having My 2nd wearing it under my clothes. It looks a lot beter than the pics I wasn't wearing it.

Do you think is a bit shallow of me? X

Not shallow at all!! U look amazing! I say do whatever improves your confidence and in turn lifts your mood!! Xx

I doubt any spanx in the world will make me look like that again though, put on 2 1/2 stone and still going lol but think it will at least make me feel better ( albeit umcomfy with the heat) ... Watching the football now, need nerves to sit and watch the whole 90 minutes !
