Anyone else testing in January?

Good luck everyone.

I've had a little ewcm and cramps but not loads so I'm still not sure when I should be testing this month. I'm not doing opks because I'm not very good at using them and get more stressed by them.

@Charlotte9, Not long no! Trying hard to not symptom spot, but that’s not going too well!

@liz85, No worries, Looking forward to following everyones journey!

@Donna88, EWCm is good, I was just about to ask about OPK’s. Fingers crossed for you! Make sure you keep baby dancing!

P.s, I'm trying out the @thing because I'm not sure how you managed to tag me!:rotfl:

EDIT - OMG it worked!:clap::clap::clap:

@RainbowMama thank you I think I’m ovulating today as have had a positive opk yesterday. We BD last night and probably again tonight  so will start testing at 10 DPO :2ww:

@RainbowMama I've not tagged before either so glad you mentioned how

Thankyou - it's just not a lot and some months I have a ridiculous amount - but obviously those months haven't worked out for me either so ‍♀️

We're keeping at it to make sure we're covered. Aiming for every other day or every third day but actually over new years we've managed 4 days in a row - just hope we don't burn out too quickly and then miss it if I ovulate later.

My period tracker doesn't think I'm due to ovulate for another 12 days

@Mrsbridge17, Yay, two week wait for you soon. Keep BD!

@Donna88, It was purely a guess, I’m glad the tagging worked! What CD are you now? Which period tracker are you using? I have used FF a long time so it knows when I usually ovulate etc. Have you had any EWCM?

@RainbowMama I'm using mytracker but my cycles are very unpredictable so the poor thing doesn't really have a chance. I have had a lot of ewcm today though so fingers crossed. Although we haven't managed to bd today so I'm a bit gutted. We did yesterday and will make sure we do tomorrow as well.

Based on that I think I'm going to test around the 18th.

@Donna88, Yeah, make sure you definitely BD tomorrow! EWCM sounds like you are ovulating, yay! I'll add you down to test the 18th. Fingers crossed!

BBT has taken another fall, still above my luteal line though.
It kind of looks a little like my previous successful pregnancy BBT. I have mild cramps and my nipples seem to be rather sensitive. I can't look too much into symptom spotting though as I get my hopes up only to be disappointed by BFN's.

Oooohhh @RainbowMama is that a good sign? I’ve never done BBT before!

my OPK are annoying me I don’t know how they work  I always OV late but I don’t know why the lines are still strong

@Mrsbridge17, The first positive OPK is the only one that matters, but I can only presume it's a long surge because it's a strong ovulation? That's where BBT would have been helpful as after ovulation a clear temperature increase would indicate you've ovulated and 3 raised temperatures would give you crosshairs meaning you definitely ovulated.

OPK's can only tell you you had a LH surge and you possibly ovulated, BBT confirms it!

What CD are you now?

Two dips could mean estrogen surge (that's good) and an implantation dip (also good), btu I'm not holding my breath. Anyone else take their BBT on this thread?

@RainbowMama 26 I average around 38 I’m quite irregular.

silly question is it just literally taking your temperature or something else? X

@Mrsbridge17, Aww bless you. I am quite regular but I lack a proper luteal phase length.

Yeah, pretty much is just that. You can take it orally or vaginally, I prefer vaginally as sometimes you may sleep with your mouth open, you have to take the temperature at the same time each morning. It's a bit like monopoly, Don't pass go (go to the toilet), Don't collect £200 (do anything!) until you take your temperature!

A lot of people think that a positive LH strip means they've ovulated and it really doesn't unfortunately, I own a POAS group on FB and the amount of people who say their AF is late and I ask how they tracked ovulation and all they did was OPK's.

The problem is, a positive OPK doesn't indicate you've actually ovulated. Without ovulation, your AF will be either massively delayed or even absent for a month! So it's absolutely critical you temp to confirm you've definitely ovulated. It's also rather handy as if your AF is due and your temperature dips to the cover line (The -------- line on my chart) then its a good indicator that AF is arriving, so it saves you tests...

I've probably made this sound super confusing, but it's pretty easy x

Has anyone had successful pregnancies? I'm just wondering when I should pee on a stick, I'm 7DPO and getting a bit impatient now.

I have tested at 7 DPO. It’s PRETTY early but possible to get a faint line. Not sure when I will test this month. My therapist keeps telling me to wait until I miss AF because it clearly gives me anxiety and it’s like a roller coaster. I refuse to test with the digital because there is a small source of entertainment I get by squinting really hard to see if a line appears. I’m absolutely nuts.

I have tested at 3DPO before now - God only knows what I expected to see so early.

I agree with your therapist, it's so hard to not test before AF though. I'm a bit of a POAS addict. :shhh:

I don't usually recommend looking at digital strips, but I did last cycle as I was unsure why it didn't say pregnant, but I could confirm the second line was a LOT darker than a standard 'not pregnant' result and the other positive tests backed up that theory.

Ohhh ok I mean I can definitely do that I have a infrared thermometer I can just do my head with if that’ll work. Don’t fancy sticking one up my fairy when I have to be up with the toddler or for the school run and work lol. I definitely ovulate it was more the timing of when we should DTD as my poor husband can’t keep up with me otherwise lol.

I have had two successful pregnancies my girls are 10 & 2 but I have had 3 losses since October 19 and we so want our youngest to have a sibling closer in age.

Mrsbridge17, Unfortunately that won't work. It needs to be a BBT thermometer, so it needs to be very accurate, for example 36.5 won't be accurate enough, BBT thermometers would say 36.59 for example. x

I don't know what I was hoping to achieve, but it's a BFN. I'm 7DPO and I should have definitely known better. :shakehead:

haha I don’t get any of this TTC stuff OPK is as technical as I get and even then I’m winging it!

7DPO is a little early (I’m sure you know this lol) but I’d keep testing as that’s what I do I pee on alllll of the sticks lol x
