I've spent the day in bed :( I hurt and feel rubbish! Starting to feel slightly better.

Also we had decided on babes
Anna felicity or Jennifer Anne but hubby just threw Anna Francesca into the mix.

My son went for a nap... Wouldn't take his socks off, then took them off and cried because his socks were off... Put them in and he removed them then cried because "sokkkkk!"

After months of trying finally got hubbu to buy me a new (2nd hand) cooker. Really pleased with it and about time! Our cooker was given to us when we moved in 8 years ago. As new but from the 70s I'm sure. I'm not joking!

Now have lower back pain and my hinge ( top of legs) feels achey. Still having random tightenings

All sounds like things are moving in the right direction.

I have a weird heightened sense of smell this aft, worse than usual. I could smell that someone had used to toilet on the top floor from my front room (but couldn't smell it in other rooms, then could smell nail polish remover really strong-don't know why.

I've had a weird type of nesting in that I've finally done my coursework for work that has been sat in my car boot for months and I've found a tin of paint in the shed so can finally do some of the touching up x

I went down to the hospital this morning, waste of time really :-/ midwife seemed like she couldn't really be bothered and seemed almost annoyed that I was there. She kept saying about 10 movements a day, one minute she said it's each individual movement that I should be counting, then she said it's each episode of movement- she said the fact id had two or three movements already that morning was very good and well on the way to the 'normal' 10 a day. I kept insisting that the movements I'd felt were nowhere near normal for my baby, which is why I was worried. The first 15 mins on the trace seemed to be picking up my hb more than baby's. We eventually found baby (mw left us to it and took ages to come when we pressed the buzzer) and apparently had a 'good trace' for 30ish mins. The machine was picking up loads of movements but I only felt 6/7 tiny little movements. She didn't want to listen to me when I said they weren't as strong as normal, and why was the monitor picking up so many when I couldn't feel anything - she just kept repeating that 10 movements in a day is what you should look for, and I'd already had almost that by midday so couldn't understand why I was worried.
She gave me a leaflet on 'how active is your baby' where it says "the important thing is to be aware of YOUR baby's pattern of movements" - no mention of 10 movements at all.
I've felt a bit more movement since, but still not quite as much as usual. On the phone, they said I'd have to go to the consultant unit if it was 2nd or more episode of reduced movement, so if it happens again I'd hopefully see someone different who is actually interested and listens!! I don't seem to be having much luck with mw's lately :-/
Xxx

What a silly cow!

She needs to read up on count the kicks website! 10 movements a day is NOT what we should be looking out for! M
Knob!
Glad lil miss is alright though hun! FX if u ever need to go up again shes not on shift! X

My thoughts exactly! OH said her attitude changed as soon as I started to get stroppy with her tho haha.
I was gutted my count the kicks bracelet thing had broken, otherwise I'd have shoved that in her face haha. I keep meaning to order a new one but wonder if there's much point with only a few weeks left....xxx

Ive got one ive not even taken out the bloody packet here!! Completely forgot ive got it!

U kinda just know their movements though dont you, as handy as they are! X

I found it so handy before it broke, especially when I was working, it helped me keep track without really thinking. Sometimes I'd get to the end of the day and think I hadn't felt her much, but checked the bracelet and realised that I actually had :-) I've got used to her pattern now tho so notice quicker when it's different.

We popped into mothercare today, ended up spending £60 on not much :-O got a new changing mat, Moses basket mattress, a couple of the aptamil starter packs and a breast pump :-) it's just the cheapy Tommee tippee manual one to try, if I get on ok then I might invest in a better one, but for £20 I thought it was worth a go. Fingers crossed. Xxx

Midwife sounds like a right cow.

I've got the tommee tippee manual pump, I've always used the avent one in the past but thought I'd give this one a go-there's definitely not as many bits to it as there is in the avent one. I prefer a manual pump to an electric pump, could never get on with the electric one.

I've got horrendous back ache again tonight. Took some paracetamol an hour ago and have come for a bath but can still feel it twinging. Mw appt in the morning so she might be able to tell me how he's laid x

Out of curiosity I've been timing my (what I believe to be) cramps. At moment they are between 4-6 mins apart. I'm so. I'm so confused! I don't know what to to look for, how to be. Should I be calling someone for advice. Help!

How long are they lasting? If they are about a minute long and every 4-6 minutes you should ring the mw xx

Just timed one and it was a minute. I'm really scared

Dont be scared hun!

Call your labour ward and explain to them what ur experiencing.

Are you able to talk whilst having one or do they literally stop u doing a thing? Xx

its exciting x ring the labour ward and they'll take some details off you and talk to you whilst your having the contractions, they may send a midwife out to check you or they may invite you to the labour ward to be checked xx

I've rang them as went loo and wipe and it was red! Not a lot but that made me panic. They were really nice. Told me if happy at home to stay home for now. See how the next hour goes any change give them a call.

very exciting. sounds like it could be our first may baby on its way.

On way to hospital. Coming every 2.5 min now. Even if they send me home it'll put my mind at ease
