--x--December 2017 Snowflakes Thread--x--

Hi ladies,

Joey hope you enjoy your half term. I've had the pain when sneezing too, feels like an almighty cramp each time. Glad your booking is done, for a second time lol. The amount of blood is extreme isn't it! I think I'm heading the same way with maternity jeans. I'm wearing pretty much all my elastic waist band jeans/jeggings to try and stave this off for as long as possible lol. I didn't need maternity jeans at all with my son so I'll be gutted if I need them by 10 bloody weeks this time!

Nicki, how are you? We've had 3 lovely days in the sun and today is miserable. It's our wedding anniversary today too, typical! We've had a lovely day though and quite happy to be home snuggled up in this weather.

CLL94 that must be tough working with food in the early days. I could never have done it with how sick I've been. Glad you've been feeling okay though. Not long at all until your scan. Mine is 2 weeks on Wednesday, I can't wait! I was thinking the same about February mummies soon. Makes us feel much further on. Exciting!

Hope everyone is having a good bank holiday xx

I'm pretty much the same although I am eating a bit more, I emailed my doctors about extending my sick note on Friday because it ran out today and there closed so I knew it wouldn't be looked at but I got a call from the receptionist say they'd done me a note until Monday. I pointed out it was for 5 days and I didn't think I would feel better because I wasn't taking any medication for it but if I did I wouldn't use it. She wasn't very nice and made me feel I was faking it so again I'm in limbo about whether to go to work tomorrow or not plus I have my actual booking in with my midwife tomorrow!

Last week was glorious but the whole weekend has sucked, we've had thunder and lightening both nights which woke us up but thankfully not the baby. He's truely mastered crawling now at 9 months so he doesn't sit still, I cracked open the travel cot today and filled it with balls to keep him amused and in one place  worked a treat!

Happy Anniversary

Joey enjoy Half term, hope you have a nice relaxing one

CLL i don't know how you managed that, just the thought of deep fat fryers makes me feel queasy!

I am 10 weeks tomorrow (by my last scan) but hospital still think I'm 11 wk 2 and I've still not had a scan appointment yet. I thought the scan had to be done by 13 weeks to get the neck fluid measurements?

Hi all hope you are well :)

Sorry to hear about so much sickness. I get occassional nausea and feel crippled by it but thats notna patch on what you are all going through!

I'm really frustrated not knowing how pregnant i am. Im leaning towards thinking i could be 7 weeks whereas im over 9 by my actual dates. Just dont know how reliable the period is as it was the only one i had since baby number 1. Ill be just over 10 at booking in (by official dates) but thought one or 2 of the tests had to be done before 10 weeks. Must be fine tho if they gave it to me. The idea of going into the scan thinkin i might be able to tell people then finding out im further behind is annoying, but as long as baby is healthy will be fine :D

This weathers been amazing, i was in the north sea on saturday when the weather was up and down but didnt cope with the cold water like i normally do (love it!!), was shaking for ages after not much of a dip!

Im due 29th technically, didnt know i was so close to you. MrsS!

Anything else happening?

Hey ladies, I've got some serious catching up to do, I've been so quiet.

I'm 12+3 and have my scan this morning. Had a scan exactly a week ago due to some really bad pain (thought my cyst had burst) but it hadn't and baby was perfect. Still feeling a bit nervous this morning. Can't upload a photo of the scan for some reason.

Will catch up on what everyone's been up to when I get home. Appointment is at 9 xx

Morning ladies!

Lots of luck for your scan karleigh, I've still got 15 days to wait for mine. Feels forever away! Glad everything was okay last week. I'm sure it will be today too!

Nicki, I'm managing to eat little bits now with all the meds I'm on but it still doesn't take away the sickness completely and the nausea is there pretty much all the time. I'm feeling miserable this morning but I went to sleep last night so not surprise I've woke up no better! Has the gp offered you meds to try or are you saying you wouldn't take them? Did you manage to get your sickline sorted today?

Thanks for the happy anniversary wishes :)
Oh crawling, it's all trouble now. I done the travel cot too and it was a godsend.

Mel are you getting an early scan at all or just waiting to see what your 12 week scan says? I'm sure if you've told the midwives you don't know how far along you are they wouldn't leave you too long that you miss out on any necessary tests.

The weathers been so lovely the last week and now miserable yesterday and today's heading for rain too. Just a tease giving us some nice weather!

Hope everyone else is okay xx

Morning ladies, just been catching up!

Glad you had a nice-ish anniversary Leah and were able to enjoy some of it. Sounds like you and Nicki are doing better on the sickness front so long may it continue in that direction!

Mel, you must be mad! I'm freezing cold sitting in an air conditioned office let alone going in the sea haha! Hope you get your dates sorted soon!

Joey, def know what you mean with the sneezing, sneezing and coughing are horrible I always think they're gonna start another bout of bleeding so I always have a little moment of internal panic when I have one lol.

GF thanks for the heads up on the Doppler heart beat that's handy to know so you don't get a shock when you first listen! After my scan on Thursday I def think I'm going to get one. Has anyone got any recommendations for good brands?

Babypickle - I didn't even think about zika! How crap - if it's any consolation at all, I went to cuba once and as amazing as it was the sanitation there is sketchy so had a couple of really bad stomachs... you might be better not going to a place like that in the early days anyway so you don't pick up any nasty bugs? (But I know you must be gutted!)

Nothing much to report here, tiny bit more dark blood this morning but I've had brown spotting ever since my last scan so trying not to read into it. I've heard ppl say they've had that when there period would have been due at each month too so wondering if it might be that as I'm bob on 12 weeks now. Just wishing my life away until my scan on Thursday still! On the up side I have managed to convince the fertility clinic to give me a little bit more progesterone just so I can make the transition off them a bit more gradual! As opposed to the 3 days I had supply left for. I def don't need anything else bringing on a bleed at this point so doing it slowly slowly just gives me a bit more reassurance!

They've lost my request even though I had the rude phone call questioning it. She said I had to call back after 14:30 I said well what do I do I'm supposed to be at work but I can't go back, she just said to call back :( I've tried 2 types but they make me twitchy and make my leg restless at night so I've given up with them, they didn't really make me feel any better anyway!
I'll have to go in after I've seen the midwife, just don't get why it's such hard work.

Thanks Helen, I'm definitely having more periods of feeling human. Although I think the constant nausea is just becoming a way of life for me now. I'm back to work a week today and dreading it already. I so hope I've turned a bigger corner by then!

Your scan is so close. I can understand the terror you must feel all the time, sneezing definitely won't help ease how you're feeling. I get a terrible cramp when I sneeze! I'm glad you got more progesterone, I think that's a good move. Even if it just helps you mentally it's all worth it! I so hope this bleeding stops soon for you, it's dampening the early days for you lovely!

Nicki, what have you tried? I had the restless horrible feeling with prochlorperazine, it was worse than the sickness. I'm on cyclizine now which took about 5/6 days to actually kick in but it is helping now. Ondansatron is much stronger so I only take that when I literally can't stop heaving and feel vile. Have you tried cyclizine?
I would definitely just go in and explain to them how ill you feel and their lack of help is making things much worse for you. Hope you get it sorted xx

Oh my goshhhh we're so in love. He/she is so perfect!!! Put me back 1 day so I'm 12+2 xx

Aw amazing karleigh. You must feel on top of the world!

I thought you'd have a boy but looking at skull that looks like a girl (total newbie analysing skulls but it's so interesting  ) xx

Congratulations Karleigh, must be a great feeling and I'm really pleased for you. He/she does look perfect :)

I've just had some brown spotting and have had quite a lot of cramping yesterday and today. Called the epu and they are getting me in for a scan on Thursday morning. I'm totally freaking out, this was exactly how and when things started to go wrong the first time around.

Thanks, I'm 10w 2d. My symptoms have been way worse over the last few days and I've been throwing up rather than just feeling nauseous all day so hopefully things are ok and it's just baby moving around in there that's caused it. It's hard to stay positive though

I know what you mean, it is so disconcerting. I've had it all the way through off and on and it's horrible. I think its worse for you as you're thinking that as it happened to you around now before you are understandably sensitive to it around the same time this time but try not to assume the worst. I've been looking up cramping and spotting since week 10 and lots of people are saying that because between wk 10 - 12 your baby gets a massive spurt on (doubles in size) there are lots of reasons for cramping feelings and spotting as things stretch and grow a bit quicker than they have been. If it's brown it may just be being kicked out from old... let us know how it goes, take it really easy drink TONS of water and you might find it tails off a bit over the next 24 hours ...will be thinking of you!

Oh Joeypops I'm so sorry. Try to think of the surge of symptoms as a positive though. I feel much worse than I have been as well xx

So sorry to read that Joey, what a worry for you. I second what the other ladies have said. Everything crossed it's old blood and baby just having a big growth! Hold onto your symptoms being so strong. Thinking of you xx

Hope you are ok Joey!

I Dont plan to get an early scan but midwife can adjust it at the booking in if needed. I just thought sickle cell test had to be before 10 weeks but maybe its fine if only a few days out.

Is everyone here finding out what they are having? Any preferences other than obviously a lovely healthy baby? :) for baby number 1 we leaned toward wanting a girl (i only wanted one as oh did so i wanted it for him) but now we have and love to pieces our baby boy, it would be amazing to have two playing about together but equally lovely to have a girl im sure so we dont mind.
