--x--December 2017 Snowflakes Thread--x--

Hey leah, I was thinking that... but also hoping it was because we are all having a drama free week and hoping no news was good news! haha...

I'm staggering coming off my progesterone this week...and hoping I'm ok without it! I have to take it every other day for the last week and then stop altogether and this is the first day without any - the bloating has disappeared which I have to say is quite nice! So we shall see!

It's Friday tomorrow, I'm just hoping to get through a Friday without any catastrophes as both big bleeds have randomly been on a Friday!! So fingers crossed, as we've got friends over this weekend with brand new baby and dog in tow!

How you feeling?

Oh it's scary stopping the progesterone, I had to stop mine almost as soon as I got a positive test and I was terrified. Thankfully it was all okay and the cramps eased so much when I stopped. The bloating going down will be a big relief!!
Everything crossed for you tomorrow is uneventful. You must be on edge all the time with those bleeds. I really hope you get a lovely weekend, especially with friends coming. It's so nice to see pregnant women/new babies without feeling awful pangs of jealousy!

Yesterday I had a much better day than the last few, still not feeling great and lots of nausea/heaving but managing to function. I've managed a little bit of melon and a tea biscuit this morning so I'm hoping I'm turning a little tiny corner. It's our anniversary on Monday so would be lovely to actually manage to do things. I haven't left the house in days! I get tired so easily and it makes the sickness/nausea so much worse. I'm hoping giving mysel a few days of rest is helping ease some symptoms! Xx

Coming off progesterone must be stressful, especially after the scares you have had but I'm sure it'll all be fine and it's great your bloating has gone down! I'd love mine to disappear, I feel like a whale by this time of day!

Glad you had a better day yesterday Leah, how are you today? I hope you are able to do something to celebrate your anniversary on Monday.

I'm doing much the same, still feeling pretty rubbish but have the odd day where I feel almost normal. Anxiety is creeping in again though, feels like my last scan was so long ago and my next is so far away so anything could be going on! It was about this time when I first found out I was miscarrying the first time around too so that's playing on my mind.

I hope everyone else is keeping well and good luck for the house move Emma!

Sorry I've been quiet, I've been checking in on you all daily but as I go to type something I either get "muuuummmmm" or "baaaabbbbeeee" & that ends that!
10 weeks on the dot today, 2 days ago I found baby's heartbeat on my Doppler! Was so shocked! But now I'm so reassured- was going to pay £95 for an early scan, but no need now!
I'm really suffering with sciatica today! Been hobbling around all day getting that last few bits for our holiday! So glad I'm in bed now! ❤️❤️❤️

Thank you for the good luck wishes! I never want to move again after this!!

1sttimer- I have to start coming off of my progesterone at 12 weeks too- part of me can't wait but part of me is super nervous so I know how you feel..

I've been feeling pretty awful this week. 9 weeks exactly but the nausea seems to be peaking for me, not getting better! I feel like I'm in a constant state of feeling hungry but sick at the same time and nothing at all appeals to me in terms of food, I've literally gone off everything!

GF91 that's amazing!! How lovely to be able to listen in at such an early stage, it must be so reassuring! Xxx

Morning ladies!

Sorry I've been quiet lately, I was working myself up all week to my scan yesterday, after 5 MCs it's really had not to think the worst :( But the scan was great, measuring 9 weeks exactly at 22.7mm! I have a picture but it really is just a blob  Now I think if everything is okay in 24 weeks at my dating scan I will start to believe this is really happening.

Glad to hear everyone is okay-ish and if nothing else the sickness isn't getting worse. I feel a bit guilty that I've dodged a bullet and only have a bit of nausea but haven't actually been sick.

Have you moved yet Emma?

Had to cancel our holiday to Cuba next month today :( So need to try and find something else this weekend as our little girl is really looking forward to going on holiday.

Has everyone got something nice planned for the bank holiday weekend? Amy x

Oh no BabyPickle, how come you've had to cancel your hols! How crap for you :( Great news on your scan though!!

Sorry your feeling rubbish Emma, maybe you'll just get it fro a few weeks and then it was tail off at 12? How did the move go (or is it not yet?) Emma are you having to come off your prog gradually? And is it between wks 11-12 your doing it?

Leah, glad you're managing to function a bit more - has that carried on to today? hows the anniversaire looking? Might you be able to have a little celebration? It would be so nice if you could..reward for all this horribleness you've endured!

GF91 where you off on hols? I have massive holiday envy at the mo but wont go anywhere until all this bloody drama subsides!!

I didn't take any progesterone yesterday and all day kept thinking I could feel cramping. I've worked out though that by the time I take the final day I'll only be 2 more days before my 12 week scan so if there are any problems I wont have long to wait. The only problem then is after your 12 week scan you have so long to wait before the next one! I think I'm going to have to invest in a Doppler...what are peoples thoughts on those?

Afternoon ladies,

Joey are you feeling any better today? It is such a horrible anxious few weeks.

Georgia, funny you said that about sciatica. Yesterday I felt like a cripple with it, all down my lower back and round to my pelvis and thighs. I'd hoped it would have eased by today but so far nothing! How lovely you found a heartbeat, so reassuring.

Emma, glad you're moved and settled. Moving is so stressful but I kinda love it, I'm totally mad! I stopped my progesterone at just over 4 weeks and after 2 losses I was terrified, my anxiety was horrific but I'm actually glad now I stopped early. I think I'd have been feeling that way no matter when I stopped!

Amy, brilliant about your scan. Looks like me you & Emma are all dating exactly the same. So sorry about your holiday, why are you having to cancel?

Helen, I actually had 2 days and feeling okayish, it was lovely. Still puking but nowhere near as bad. It's come for me again today though and I can't get my head out the toilet. I knew it was bound to happen! I feel like I've had everything this pregnancy. Nausea, sickness, exhaustion, constipation and now sciatica. What bloody next! I really don't know if we're going to do anything for our anniversary or leave it until next weekend. I'm disappointed but every anniversary I've prayed for a baby so can't complain!

I know people say things against a Doppler but I think I'm going to try one. I think as long as you know it's not always easy to find and don't panic constantly it's fine to get one. If you're the type of person who panics easily then I wouldn't add unnecessary stress!

We're going to a family BBQ tonight. Going to be great fun with my spewing but need to make an effort! Hope everyone had a lovely weekend xxxx

1sttimer we're off to Gran Canaria on Wednesday for 10 days! Can't bloody wait! It's actually our honeymoon, but I haven't been away for about 6 years- DH hasn't been away for 15! So it's much overdue!

Leah, I really feel for you! I've had a few waves of nausea & apart from being knackered & now sciatica I feel like I'm breezing through! I'm so so sorry your having such a shit time! Hopefully once your closer to tri 2 it'll ease off and you can start enjoying your preganacy!

I bought my Doppler first time round, used it weekly until I could feel her moving about which was around 18 weeks & never used it again. I just thought I'd have a go the other night & found it relatively quickly, DH thought I was mad! Tried again last night, took a little longer but found it & ive recorded it on my phone. Deffo think boy! Sounds very train like when DD sounded like a galloping horse!

Really suffering with my sciatica again today. Just trying to keep going & hobble on! I'm having real issues with my MIL at the moment, she's literally all over me at the moment. If I don't text her back within 10 minutes she phones me, & if I don't answer she phones DH, if he doesn't answer she just comes round!

Gran Canaria sounds amazing, I'm jealous! We're going to lanzarote in 6 weeks and I can't wait. I'm praying I feel so much better by then. I love the sun and holidays! That'll be amazing for you and hubby after so long without a holiday!

Thanks hun. I'll never be so grateful to eat food again honestly! The gp told me only to take the ondansatron (strongest anti sickness) when I was really struggling so I've taken it once a day but because I have the family BBQ tonight I'm going to take an extra one to get me through it. I phoned my work colleague to see what she thought and she agreed it would be fine so I feel better about taking it! I've done my hair and make up for the first time in god knows how long so hopefully my burst of energy continues. I've not eaten anything bar polo mints though so that'll be the biggest test! I don't begrudge you having an easier first tri honestly, I'll take one for the team

I'm definitely keen on getting a Doppler, think you've convinced me!

I'm still struggling with the sciatica too hun. What's going on with your MIL? Is she just being really over protective? My mums being a bit similar but not to the extent you're saying. Poor you! Gran Canaria definitely can't come quick enough for you xx

Counting down the days! I do hope your completely back to normal long before you go away, but deffo for when your away! Fingers crossed you can keep some yummy BBQ food down tonight! I've not really been eating much, just not hungry at all! My sister has gained 1.5 stone already 😳😳
With regards to the Doppler, just don't panic if you can't find baby straight away! They don't actually recommend them until 16 weeks- but hey, what are pregnant ladies meant to do?!

My MIL has always been a pain in the assssss... but in the last few months she's got worse. There are a lot of issues in the family, 2 siblings won't speak to the other 2 siblings, 1 son won't speak to his parents, their father doesn't like a SIL. Getting married was a nightmare, had to sit everyone in different corners of the room! She's incredibly ditsy anyway but she's getting progressively worse. Because I'm tired I also have no patience which I don't think helps!

Wow busy day here ladies!

They have Zika virus in Cuba, so not safe to go :( I'm so annoyed as trying to find something in Europe is likely to cost even more, grrrrr!!

I have to stop my progesterone at 12 weeks, never got this far before other than with my daughter so I do think it's worked. I hadn't planned a phased stop, but think I might reading all that has been mentioned. Can't wait to ditch the fragmin injections though!!

I had a Doppler with my little girl, amazing finding the heartbeat for the first time, but I also stopped using it once I could feel her moving x

Oh no, how annoying about the zika virus. I hope you manage to get something equally as awesome booked as a replacement. All the holiday chat is making me want to book something but we need to get our house sorted out before the end of the year so doubt we will manage. At least it's beautiful weather here for now so I'm getting some sunshine in, and I don't feel at all bad for sitting about enjoying it!

Is it easy to know when you've found the heartbeat with a Doppler or can you sometimes mistake it for something else (blood rushing about etc)? One of my friend's sisters just advertised her one for free and I'm tempted despite the fact that I'd have to say it was for someone else so she doesn't find out yet!

I was just thinking that some of us will be in trimester 2 now but looking at the list Karleigh is the only one still here who isn't due at the end of December (unless I'm missing someone, apologies if so). When are all the 12 week scans happening? Can't wait for mine, still having moments of anxiety about it all but trying to stay positive!

Hope you all have lovely weather wherever you are and are enjoying the weekend

Babies heartbeat is really really fast, I guess you could miss it if you haven't heard it before. But once you've heard it then you can't miss it! There's lots of whooshing & you pick up your own heartbeat too in certain places.

Got my 12 week scan on the 12 June, I'll be 12.5 weeks. Is everyone having the screening? I didn't have it first time round, don't know whether too this time?

Thanks for that. I might see if she's still got it since it's going free anyway! Would be great to have some extra reassurance.

That's my scan date too! I'll be having the screening, wasn't sure whether to or not but think I'll just go for it then worry later if anything is flagged up.

I forgot about zika Amy, that's rubbish but can save the amazing holiday for next year. This year you've got a more amazing thing to look forward to!

My 12 week scan is the 14th of June, I'll be 11+6 so hopefully that's okay. We opted for all screening as we did with our son. I'm a children's nurse and working with some of the kids I do, it just makes me the type of person I need to know and be prepared! Is it 14 weeks for tri2 on this site? Xx

Just realised I've been a bit quiet lately! Sorry. Hope everyone is well. I'm on half term now. Desperately in need of a rest. 10+4 today. 13 days till my scan. As far as I can tell all is ok here. Been very crampy today and full of hay fever. Every time I sneeze it feels really sore so I'm guessing baby is doing some growing and my ligaments are stretching today.
Had my hospital appointment on Thursday. She did my booking in, even though the midwife at my gp surgery already did it! All the same questions! Only this time it was written on my green notes rather than an iPad. She also seemed to go into my first pregnancy a lot more and I've been put on aspirin to try and stop pre-eclampsia from happening again, so feeling really good that all should go well! (Fingers crossed)
Had my booking bloods taken. (Why do they need 5 vials of the stuff?) thankfully I don't pass out during blood tests anymore!
Had to concede defeat today and buy some maternity jeans. The waistband was really digging in on my normal jeans.

How's everyone's bank holiday going? It's raining here and has been allllll weekend :(

Hello!
I've got my 12 week scan on Monday 5th :) but I'll be 13 weeks, I'm starting to get my appetite back although I'm still very tired, I can't wait to get to T2!
Nervous about my scan even though I had a scan at 10 weeks, just a worrier!!
I'm really intrigued about these Dopplers? First pregnancy so no idea! Where would you look into getting one??
Feel sorry for everyone with really bad sickness I was fortunately very lucky and wasn't sick just nauseous.
There will soon be a February post! It's nice to see that we are all getting further along its so exciting!
Horrible bank holiday, been working all day cooking as I work in Morrison's cafe! Not the best mix 2 huge fat fryers that stink and it's SOOO HOT!
X

Hi ladies,

Joey hope you enjoy your half term. I've had the pain when sneezing too, feels like an almighty cramp each time. Glad your booking is done, for a second time lol. The amount of blood is extreme isn't it! I think I'm heading the same way with maternity jeans. I'm wearing pretty much all my elastic waist band jeans/jeggings to try and stave this off for as long as possible lol. I didn't need maternity jeans at all with my son so I'll be gutted if I need them by 10 bloody weeks this time!

Nicki, how are you? We've had 3 lovely days in the sun and today is miserable. It's our wedding anniversary today too, typical! We've had a lovely day though and quite happy to be home snuggled up in this weather.

CLL94 that must be tough working with food in the early days. I could never have done it with how sick I've been. Glad you've been feeling okay though. Not long at all until your scan. Mine is 2 weeks on Wednesday, I can't wait! I was thinking the same about February mummies soon. Makes us feel much further on. Exciting!

Hope everyone is having a good bank holiday xx
