Noooot a big drinker at alll but id kill for a fruity cider loool (classsssy bird) :p x

I've never been much of a drinker, I only really drank when going out on a night out. I've not had any alcohol since being pregnant and don't miss it at all. I have heard you can have the odd glass but I personally don't think it's worth it.

I was never a big drinker, but alcohol in pregnancy and while bf'ing is a big no-no as far as I'm concerned. I last had a beer in December 2009 lol!

Each to their own, but I decided for me the odd one just wasn't worth it. tbh right now its the last thing i want. its a bout the only thing i've gone off! I've had the odd becks blue but the first one i didn't finish and the second, on a different occasion, lasted me all evening! It was a bit odd on m hen watching everyone else get sozzled without being part of it in that way, but i still had fun. A drink prob would have sent me to sleep anyway!

I read that they say one glass of wine per day is actually "healthy"

I was drinking before I found out but only a couple of cocktails, and since I found out I stopped.

I have known people to drink right through their pregnancy, I knew of this one girl who I saw with a huge bump and a bottle of cider - her baby is fine but obviously this doesnt make it right or that everyone else's baby will be fine.

I read here that you can get kopperberg non alcoholic? I will defo need to hit that up! I love kopperberg, esp in the sun!

In pregnancy they say if you do have to drink stick to one or two units a week - that is 2 very small glasses of wine!

Becks Blue are fine for me, or else I just have water (I am not having any caffeine so don't drink fizzy drinks!)

I must admit, it wouldn't look nice. BUT. It isn't right OR wrong.

I've decided I'll be having a small glass of bubbly on my wedding day.
I've had a healthy pregnancy so far, and it's my wedding day!

Being around pollution in the air and being around people that smoke, and when walking along the streets, I often walk past people smoking weed and stuff, which obivously isn't good!

Interesting to see peoples views though!

Im sorry but standing with a big bump and a 3litre bottle of cider whilst you are pregnant is wrong, and seeing if you are ok to drink like X amount of units, 3 litre is well over the limit so yes, its wrong. Fair enough I didnt specify the size of the bottle but it was a 3L.

I feel if you are willing to drink that much and put your baby in that kind of danger then you should re-think having babies.

I dont disagree with a glass of wine or bubbly occasionally.

Obviously yes everyone has their opinions on drinking whilst pregnant.

this is old obviously, but this says about the glass of wine a day so I knew I did hear it right, I thought I just made that up when I seen your reply nat lol!

Current guidelines say differently now though hun, as with most things about pregnancy the advise is always changing!

I must say I'd never heard of the glass a wine a day thing

Personally I have decided not to for the duration of pregnancy and breastfeeding and I don't miss it.

I loved an ice cold glass of Pinot Grigio at the weekends or a bottle of Peroni on an aftenroon like this BUT since getting preggers I just haven't fancied a drink!

Omg don't get me wrong, that IS wrong..

I thought you meant like a general bottle of Koppaberg or something... :p Sorry!

Nope nope and nope. There is no way i will drink while pregnant, i have pretty much the same views on drinking while pregnant as smoking while pregnant. It's 9 months out of your entire life, if someone can not go 9 months without an alcoholic drink then there is something wrong there.

Nat - Im sure its void now anyway its years old but I knew I had seen it I rember thinking to myself, "if you have a glass of wine a day, like every day arent you an alky"

Yeah snap, I wont drink either but Im not a big drinker anyway. I used to in my teens but I sickened myself with it I think lol. Its baby time now. Time to settle. Although when its hot I do like a wee cider, its weird how you drank before but now you dont really want to, yet the people who werent big drinkers can go a good drink when the sun is out lol!

Sarah - nono! I agree with a glass of champers or wine and esp if you have a big day like your wedding! I read over that I didnt make it clear, my bad.

the reason why I had said I would get a non alcoholic kopperberg is cause one wouldnt be enough lol, like if I were to have one bottle of alcoholic I would want more and if the non alcoholic tates the same I may aswell stick to the non alcoholic, I dont drink to get drunk when Im in the sun, really just to chill out xxxx

I disagree that if someone cant go 9 months theres something wrong by having a drink.

Whether we agree or not I dont think that there is something wrong with someone just if they have one glass of wine/champers at a wedding or whatever.. It doesnt mean they are immoral or alcoholics.

And em, like Sarah says there are some people who drink not knowing they are pregnant and its not fair to then say that if you drink in pregnancy there is something wrong.

Just my opinion though :)

Don't get me wrong, i did drink when i was not pregnant but very rarely. Alcohol is a drug afterall, and if someone can not go without it then i stand by what i said, they have a problem. I don't mean that the girl on here who wants a glass of bubbly on her wedding day has a problem... she is having a glass as a celebration not because she "needs" it.

Lisa x

but then thats a bit hyprecritical, if you find that there is something wrong with someone who choses to have a drink, but not for someone who is celebrating ... obviously if people who "need" it there is something wrong with them in terms of medically they are alcoholics.

but if you drink through choice whether its for celebration or just because you want to its still drinking.

Im sitting on the fense really, Im not going to drink but I dont see the problem if I were to have a glass of wine or champers(which I wont because I dont like it).

Just have to say yes, alcohol free kopparberg is soo yummy :) I've only seen the pear 1 tho xxxx

well i just spent the afternoon in a beer garden, and i had half a pint of cider shandy! and it was lush. And i dont feel guilty about it. And I dont "have a problem" and it would have not absolutely NO HARM to baby.

i would normally have polished off a nice cold bottle of wine by now. A little of what you fancy does you good.
