Where's the scan?
Solihull, somewhere called Midlands Ultrasound service or something like that :? They do early scans for £60 so it would have been rude not to ;)

Did you say before to bring picnic food for others?

Really looking forward to meeting you all at last :D

oh man I don't know now if I'm gonna be able to come....my mother has sprung it on me that she is going to Poland on 11th in the evening with my aunt (her sister) who lives in Chelmsford. The are flying from one of the London airports (I forget which one)

My uncle (mam's brother), who also lives in Leeds, is also going on holiday (although not to Poland) on 11th from one of the London airports....his flight is about 5am or something.

So he is driving down on 10th and is going to stay at my aunt's house before leaving for the airport.

So of course my mam is getting a lift to my aunt's house with my uncle on 10th, and she is going to stay overnight at my aunt's house before they both go away on the evening of 11th.

So (this is the relevant part), whenever my mam goes away, she railroads me into taking care of this old lady that lives with her (she's a carer - this woman has been living with her for about 14 years, she's in her late 80's).

Basically it kind of depends on when my uncle is driving down. The old lady is alright to be left alone for a FEW hours. So if they are going at around lunchtime, then I'll still be able to come to the meet, because my mam will be with her until lunchtime, and then I can go to see her in the evening when I get back from the meet to check that she's okay.
But if they setting off first thing in the morning, then there's no way she can be left alone until the evening, so I'll have to stay with her and I won't be able to come to the meet.

*wails*

Please keep fingers crossed that my uncle doesn't want to set off early!!

NOOOO

Tell them you are busy on the 10th and that's it, either that or bring the old bird with ya :rotfl:

lol she wouldn't know what on earth was going on. She's really deaf so you have to literally scream in her ear to get her to understand you (for some reason she refuses to wear a hearing aid lol) - she's kind of confused aswell so she'd probably think I was kidnapping her or something haha!

Is there anyone else coming completely on their own, who has never met or communicated with anyone outside of the forum before?!

I'm a little bit nervous!

On another note, just fininshed readin a great book called 'Misconceptions' by femininst Naomi Wolf about the ante/post natal care offered in the western world. Was very interesting reading but is no good to me now so was hoping I may be able to pass it on at the meet if anyone's interested? :)

I really should stop checking the forecast....It keeps changing, and if it rains we'll just be inside anyway!

Has everyone swapped phone numbers with at least 1 other person?
Who's getting the bus from Birmingham? as I can get more info for you.
Do any of the drivers need more directions?

I don't have anyone's number? I'm only travelling two miles up the road but would like a contact to stop me approaching random groups of people???

 hello,I think I am going to be brave and come along with Finn, camera, scran and blanket,if that's okay. I am like you LittleMinx,I'll be quite nervous and shy,I don't like first meetings, but I'll be okay after 10 minutes!!I'll have to get expressing some milk,I'm not sure I could feed him in public, but you never know.....
I will be driving up,it's not far from me I can offer a lift to anyone who may be along the route.......
I would also like a phone number to stop me from approaching random groups too!!
God I'm nervous thinking about it now

:) Forgot to say,I'll be coming from Tipton in the car - it's a Volvo estate,so plenty big enough for another pram/pushchair,and easy enough for a car seat to fit in!!!

I haven't swapped a phone number but I still don't know whether I'll be coming. I asked my mam today what time she is going to Chelmsford and she says she hasn't asked my uncle yet  I've told her to get a wriggle on and find out! At this rate I won't know until Thursday morning lol. Maybe I should swap a number just incase. Any takers? lol

Oh dear maybe I didn't do it right, tried to PM you?
