**September 2020 Mummies**

Thank girls :)

Been for the Injection, got my matb1 form, spoke to boss about taken my annual leave before maternity he thinks should be fine so requested all the dates for holiday. So fingers crossed 16th july could be my last working day.:bump:
Productive enough day.

Yay for a productive day! Must feel good to have a plan in place for maternity leave.

I have spent all day looking at 20 week ultrasound videos to see if I could see the gender and googling getting told the wrong gender at 20 week scan! I didn’t see anything to indicate a boy, it has been super obvious with my others, but I just can’t get my head around the fact I’m having a girl! I’ve just replaced one lot of stress for another :wall2:

@TTC no2 - sounds like a very productive day. I also have sorted my leave out. I am finishing work 24th August but will take 8 days holiday and my Mat leave will start on my actual due date which is the 4th Sep. Obvs if baby comes before then mat leave will start then. I then have 17 days of holiday to put in my pot for next year including any bank holidays and next years holiday too!!
I very much doubt I’ll be returning to work before maternity because of corona so I’ll be working from home right up until August.

@kanga86 - try and enjoy that your having a girl, doubting it will only put a downer on your pregnancy and that’s the last thing you need xx

Hey Kanga, try not to worry yourself. I know how easy it is to do though. I’ve never ever questioned that the sonographer was right before but because I so want this one to be a girl I keep worrying that they were wrong too. But I think all you really need to do is look at boy scans and see how obvious it is that there is something there and compare, there was definitely nothing there between the legs on this one or on my 5 year old’s scans whereas with the boys it was VERY obvious.

I’m keeping myself busy with sorting out all our clothes. Now I know it’s a girl I can get my daughter’s stuff out of storage and sort through it and can also get rid of all our boys’ clothes. That is a LOT of clothes! Fortunately a close friend’s best friend is having her first baby and it’s a boy and with the covid situation she is worrying money is tight so she was thrilled when I offered her all the best condition stuff. The rest of it I plan to give to some sort of women’s aid type charity x

P.S I’ve had the odd leg cramp and I’ve had them really bad in previous pregnancies - one notable time my husband thought I had gone into labour because I was writhing around in so much pain :rotfl: I think it’s more likely to be dehydration than lack of vitamins

The legs cramps are deadly. I pull some funny moves during the night. Thankfully only had one this morning. My muscles aches after it for while. Will increase fluid and got my hands on my vitamins. Should keep taken them regardless.

I'm sure u will be glad now you know what ur at. I bet ur feeling organised. I will hoke thru both boys and girls stuff just the sleep suits and vests and wash them to freshing them up and keep them in the drawer.

I def think I be returning to work before maternity. We got email to say that guidelines have changed and pregnant employees can work under stringent conditions . I dont know how that would work for me. Best for me to be away from it as early as I can if that it the case. We are also furloughed from yestrday so no more full time pay.

Thank you Char and Rose, I know I shouldn't worry about it. With James (2nd) we were going to stay team yellow and I spotted he was a boy instantly and got the sonographer to confirm because I was obviously not team yellow any more. Same with Alfie at his 17 weeks gender scan the willy was so obvious. This one I really couldn't see anything, so I know the sonographer was probably right but I just can't believe it is a girl after my 3 boys.

I will have to have a massive sort out of clothes as I have millions of boys ones in the loft, I'm hoping there is some neutral sleepsuits/ vests I can reuse, but I'm gonna need a while new wardrobe for her! I will have to find somewhere I can donate the rest of the clothes too.

What do you ladies do for work? I work for asda doing the home shopping so I guess at some point I will return before maternity leave, but I was warned I may not be on my department due to the risk of pushing the heavy trolleys around, so who knows what I will be doing when I go back. Luckily they are paying everyone in full but I think we have to use some of our holiday allowance too, which sucks!

I got a new baby sling wrap in the post today it is so pretty! Uploading my scan photo too

I was a secondary school teacher but I started maternity for my daughter in Nov 2014, went back October 2015 already pregnant with my second so went back on maternity end of February 2016. I intended to return to work in January 2017 but by Sept 2016 we had realised that all the money I made would be spent on a private nursery and the cost of petrol to get me to work so that it made no financial sense for me to work really. So I quit in nov 2016 and then I found out I was pregnant in the December with baby 3. So I’ve never gone back to work. My husband is quite happy for me not to work until they are all at secondary school but I would really like to at least do a few days a week once baby 4 is at nursery. But I guess we’ll see!
I am very very lucky that my husband has such a good job and works so hard so I don’t have to x

Girls lastnight and this morning I noticed small jelly like discharge. I'm freaking alittle thinking it's my mucus plug. Il keep eye on it see if anymore comes. Should it do I'm going to ring assessment unit for advice.

Love the little picture and rainbow wrap. Is that a stretch?

I work in debenhams for a concession.. was training to be a Nurse but I left it after year and half. I really hated uni. All my mates were in a different intake to me so whilst they were out working and was in uni.

I work in finance so I'm lucky enough to be able to work from home without too much disruption. I probably won't start mat leave til end August so i guess I will get back in the office at some point over the summer as long as nursery reopens.

Are there more scans this week? Mine is still a week away, time is crawling! X

I’m in construction. I work on building sites but in the made up offices. I do all the admin side of things like sending out drawings to clients etc. All of my work can be done from home so no need to be on site. I’m not sure I’ll be going back before mat leave tbh, I will have to get a train and a tube and I want to avoid that at all costs.

I have another scan this morning, to get the measurements they couldn’t get last time. Will get them to confirm gender too while I’m there :)
Can’t wait to see my little girl on the screen (if I get a nice sonographer that is)

Hope your all doing ok ladies? Oh is off work today so we are going to go for a nice walk over the country park later on today xx

Good luck at ur scan hope its nicer sonographer this time.

Victoria hope this week flies for u. It's hard work waiting for scans days when ur so looking forward to them.
Amy has one on Wednesday.

@TTC no2 Sorry to butt in, I'm sure you've sorted it out but you can lose bits of your mucus plug all throughout pregnancy. It regenerates quickly. You only need to worry if it's blood stained. x

Hi ladies, sorry I've been absent for a few days. DD has been a bit of a grumpy nightmare. Damn kids

No idea on the mucus plug thing I'm afraid as I was induced last time. I can only recommend ringing your mw if you're not sure on anything.

Hope your scan goes well today Char and you get to see baby again, and the gender confirmed. I've got mine on Wednesday and I can't wait. Trying to not think about it too much though otherwise the time will really drag. Really hoping all is ok and that they can tell me the gender. I want to start shopping!

I work for the MOD. Can't really work from home at all due to the computer systems I use. Fortunately work have said I can go onto special paid leave as they wanted me out for the 12w government vulnerable time, and I'm looking after DD too. DH is military and has been sent home to stay with me for the 12w (as we currently work in the same building it would be odd if they made him go but said I couldnt), but he is WFH.

Really hoping I get to go back to work for a few months before maternity leave starts. I think being stuck in the house for months, and then 12 months maternity leave will make me feel completely isolated and out of the loop otherwise. It took me about a year to get back into it after the last mat leave.

Just experienced the weirdest and saddest thing in my life. I have just sat and watched a live stream of my Grandma’s husbands funeral. So heartbreaking to have to celebrate the life of a wonderful man alone through my iPad. The saddest part about it is my grandma was not allowed to go as she is having chemotherapy and an operation tomorrow morning for stage 4 ovarian cancer. I can’t even imagine how she must be feeling, she didn’t even see him in the 3 weeks before he died as he was in hospital

Hope your scan goes well today Char, and looking forward to everyone else scans too.

TTCno2 yes it is a stretchy, it’s the 1st one I’ve owned as with the boys I have just borrowed one. I have a tula for when baby is bigger.

everyone has such a mix of jobs, it must be weird being able to work from home, I’m glad glad I can’t lol It’s hard enough just getting through the day with the 3 boys without thinking about work too! We aren’t even doing any homeschooling stuff as I’ve given up! They will learn once they are back at school, not need to pressure us all to try and do it. So we are trying to enjoy the time stuck at home.

Oh Kanga that is absolutely heartbreaking and just so unfair. This virus really is causing so much pain, to not even be allowed to see ill loved ones or go to funerals is just the worst. Just awful I am so sorry to hear that. Your poor grandma, I wish her all the best with her treatment, she deserves some good news bless her.

Scan went well and was able to get the measurements that they couldn’t get last time. I got the cutest photo of the baby blowing a baby, it actually melts my heart every time I look at it <3

@kanga86 - I am so sorry, what an awful way to say goodbye to a family member. Sorry your Nan didn’t get to attend the funeral either, how heartbreaking. I really hope her treatment goes well and she recovers quickly.

xx

I have my scan next Monday, still a whole week to wait which feels like an eternity at the moment! I will be 20+3 by then, really hoping the gender will be easy to determine and no crossed legs! I am getting impatient now lol. Hope everyone is coping OK. I must admit I have really struggled this past week, have been in tears most days! Just feeling so fed up with this now, not helped by having a bored 2 year old constantly throwing tantrums and making me feel stressed! But then I hear @kanga86 news and makes me realise I need to wise up and be thankful. So many people going through real heartache right now.
