*~*~* September 2015 Mummies *~*~*

That's brilliant H thank you so much, I can't actually take some things out my bag as I think I've packed too many nappies and pads. Suppose them things someone can always bring from home if I end up staying longer.

Big knickers as in just cheap ones from primark or somewhere? X x x

Yeh primark granny pants will be fine :)

I just brought some big ones from tesco last time. They are so nice to wear after childbirth if I am honest. I remember the agony the days after childbirth and I didn't even have stitches. Absolutely dreading that happening this time!

I'll be getting my tea tree oil back out for sure! X

Yep I have some disposable pantas fir the first few hrs, Think I wore them after harry for the first 12 hrs or so n git through a few of them the bleeding is pretty bad well it was for me. Some people don't get on with them tho but I found them ok. Then went onto the bit cheap granny pants. Have a pack of 5 in my bag n more in the other one.

Really got to wash the clothes n blankets etc but waiting fir a nice sunny day again!! Bags half packed but I've wrote a list lol so I feel more relaxed.

I've got nappies in my bag but we also chuck another pack in the boot in case we need them. I've somehow ended up with 2 bags again...I definitely thought I was travelling light this time, obviously not.
Had a good day yesterday but I ache all over today, just lay on the sofa as O stayed at my parents. He's just going for a nap apparently so I've got a couple of hours of laziness left.
Got the pram, I love it, so easy to manoeuvre but Jesus Christ it's huge, not sure what door it's meant to fit through but it doesn't fit through ours! :D x

Thanks so much ladies, I'll get last few bits next week and write it in here and see what you think. I think I'll be taking two bags, one for me and one for bubs.

Insomnia is kicking in for me, I'll be so tired and fall asleep for a couple of hours but wake up between 3 and 4am an not be able to get back to sleep. My manager is back today so a lot of the pressure is off me and only 3 shifts to go! Yay! Xxx

Oh yeah just cheap big pants, I got a 5 pack from sainsburys for a few quid. You don't wanna ruin all your decent underwear as bleeding after baby is very heavy and as mentioned they are just far comfier to wear when you are a bit sore etc :)

Gilly you are doing well only taking 2 bags when you are having twins, I am taking two bags and I am only having the one baby haha x

Oh also forgot to mention - with Ruby I had third degree tear, episiotomy and so ended up with loads of stitches inside and out and my hospital midwife recommended putting a few drops of lavender oil in a small glass of milk (the milk helps the lavender sink rather than just staying on surface of water) and adding it to my baths to help healing and it did help the process. I know they don't really recommend adding salt anymore but I felt it was taking quite a while to fully heal as my stitches started bleeding again after a couple of weeks so I did chuck the odd bit of salt in my baths then too and that also helped a lot.

Hopefully you ladies won't need any stitches etc but thought I would mention it just in case x

Lol that's ok I needed to face it sometime!!

It wasn't the after side it was having them put in. 4 injections of local anesthetic in my already just gone through a trauma foof!! Really hoping I don't tear this time but hey ho if I do so b it.

Oh no that's not good, I was lucky I didn't even notice the numbing injection but then I was nearly in a coma from 29 hour labour and no sleep for 2 days haha x

Thanks Gilly I hope so! Today is dragginngggggg!

I am terrified of stitches but it's good to know that such a good tip :) thanks lovely xxx

I remember that if I drunk orange juice (I did drink a lot after birth) it was really sore to pee lol.
Back from midwife.
She told me hospital has missed the fact that I have gestational diabetes. She sat there on the phone to the diabetic clinic talking about how I've been missed etc.
Turns out, I actually don't have it but she thought I did! My palms were all clammy and I was worried something was wrong lol.

All is good. Baby right way up now, measuring as I should. If all is well in 2 weeks then I get to go to the new birthing centre woo :) x

God kelly that must have had your nerves gone! Glad all is ok tho, perfect in fact ! Really happy for you.

I can't wait to see my midwife tomorrow, don't know why ,think I'm excited to see what position baby is in now and if she's any further engaged.

Oh so I was made up my manager is back this week so almost back to fully staffed, unfortunately while he was away he Nan has got really poorly so he's not in a good place and it's not looking good so he's taking this week off which means my last 2 shifts will be full time which I honestly don't mind because he's great and would do the same for me, in fact he has done in the past, just wish the rest of the staff would pull their weight x x x

Oh good tip about the milk and lavender oil h ~ thanks! Had a tear and a cut with belle. Didn't feel it at the time, or the stitches being done, but was really sore for the week or so after. I found a bath every morning helped sooooo much! One morning I didn't have one as we were going out early and boy did I know it! I also found time without pants on really helped! Put a towel on the sofa to sit on, blanket over lap and knees bent to air!

We went to an animal park today. Had so much fun, but can't wait to get in the bath when kiddies go! Thank goodness for afternoon naps and tea! X

It is exciting the appointments. Hope all goes well tomorrow.

It's good that you only have 2 full time shifts to get through x

Sounds lovely going to the animal park and a nap sounds good too. I didn't get to sleep until around 2 yesterday and my son decided to wake up at 6.30 today! I am sooooo tired! :-( x

Hi ladies, what a day. They were running so late at the hospital that at 1.30 I still hadn't had anything done apart from bp n urine.

The urine had glucose in it altho no one seemed bothered by this it was just in my notes. The diabetic nurse n the doctor were very pleased with my blood sugars so much so that the doc was happy to let me go to 40wks. The consultant said this is very rare n that he was very chuffed with my diet control(good job he didn't see me eating cake Sat arvo lol) n that he very rarely let's people go over 38!!

Anyway she wasn't so happy to do that as Harry came so quick she didn't really want me to go into Labour at home so wants to induce me at 38wks3 which is the first Sept.

However when she measured my bump I'm still small( think it was 29wks) so she said I must have a scan again asap so I'm now booked in on Fri at 3 for a growth scan. She Saud if all is well them I'm free to go n just b monitored by mw till induction 1st Sept but if the scan shows something different then a doc will speak to me there n then n May change the plans. Oh n she dent bubs n Saud the little monkey has turned breech!!!!

So all in all I'm exhausted n worried n can't wait to see bubs n see if he/she has grown on Friday.

Sorry for epic msg.

glad it turned our well fir u Kelly bet u were so worried for a bit there.

A bath sounds so good right now Mary!!!

Michelle, I bet you're so glad to be home?
That's really nice knowing when your baby will be here but also a bit of a bugger that it could change again! Hope that all is well on Friday and that baby moves into the right position! What a nightmare afternoon xx

Ah Michelle that sounds like a real roller coaster of a day! For the mo look forward to seeing your little one on Friday and then take it from there. So glad they were happy with your diet control ~ you must be doing really well xx
