Riley Liddle 15/04/2014

We are doing great. Riley is sleeping more through the night and he is becoming much more awake and alert through the day.
Still exhausted though as hubby is working so many hours at work that I am with the baby all day and night without any breaks. It would be nice to have some time to myself to relax in the bath or just get some extra sleep. Shouldn't complain though as I am just loving being a Mummy and so blessed that a Riley is so happy and contented

And hope you get a chance to catch up on some rest soon!! x

Hi Michelle! I'm struggling to get on here a lot these days, but just seen your journal so will be stalking now :) Riley looks so scrummy :)

I know how you feel about having Riley 24/7, it's hard work but so worth all the effort. Glad you're doing well :)

It does get easier as they get older and sleep through. It's very tiring. I find getting up at 6.30 tiring don't know how I did the night feeds lol glad to hear you're both doing well xx

Riley is 4 weeks old today. Can't believe it. It's been such a quick 4 weeks.
He is now taking about 6oz feeds every 4 hrs and goes to sleep as soon as he has finished feeding and sleeps right through to the next feed.
He is such a good natured a baby, so contented. We are just truly blessed by our little man.

Yes my scan has nearly all healed up. Those dressing I got from the GP worked wonders.

Well the health visitor came yesterday but didn't weigh Riley as she said there was no point. He was weighed last week and she could see he was growing well so no point. She will weigh him at his next visit which is 3 weeks away. But annoyed. She only stayed 5 mins. Beginning to think health visitors are just a waste of time.
I am absolutely shattered today. My husband has been working nights this last week so I have had Riley all day and night by myself.
I love Riley so much but it would just be so nice to have some time to myself and not have to worry about housework, cooking meals and looking after Riley.

Sounds like you are doing amazing Michelle. Time to yourself becomes such a luxury. My hubby came down with an awful illness when Jess was 6 weeks so I was doing it all then, its exhausting. Hv vary so much. One of mine was brill and another was so awful I nearly broke down and wanted to hit her.
Best advice I can give though is let the housework go a bit, buy easy to cook stuff and enjoy that little boy, its just crazy how quick it goes. Xxx

He's so adorable michelle! As for the housework and cooking, I'd also be tempted to just leave housework until you just can't bear it anymore!! ;) Can you bulk cook some meals so you don't have to worry about it every day? I've started that for when the baby is first born, got some tupperware pots of bolognaise, curry and chilli in the freezer for when I can't be arsed ;) Would like to do lots more but my freezer is only small which is a pity! Xx

Keep forgetting to update my journal.
Well Riley is nearly 6 weeks old. Time is going so quickly. Our little man has certainly grown over the last few weeks. He is really filling out.
He is still eating very well up to 6oz every 3/4hrs through the day and he now goes 5/6hrs through the night between feeds. We have started to introduce the bath/bottle/bed routine. It's only been 3 nights and so far so good it does taking him about half an hour to settle once we put him down but once he has fallen asleep that's him until his next feed. I know he is still very young but wanted to get a routine sorted as soon as possible.
My first AF since having Riley arrived last week and is still going. I'm not used to my period being like this, before giving birth my AF would only last 2/3 days and was very light. Now on day 8 and still going strong. I know the first AF after section is meant to be rough so I just have to go with it.

Urg, 8 day AF??? What a b***h. Still no AF for me as got an implant put in 5 weeks after Jess turned up. After being pregnant on and off for 3 years I couldn't face it again for a while! Don't know how you feel about it though, I know you've been through similar.

Sounds like you are doing fab. Bedtime routine has been a lifesaver for us, as both Jess and I are rubbish at following a daytime one. At least she knows when we are starting to wind down. It is lovely when you get a little bit of evening back, it is very demanding in the first few weeks.

We have decided to start trying for baby no2 as soon as we possibly can so I won't be going back on any form of contraception. I know it's recommended to wait at the very least 6 months so I have bought a few ovulation tests so will start tracking my cycles again until then and start trying properly ASAP.
It took us 2 years to get Riley so god only knows how long it will take us to fall pregnant again. I am 36years old now so time is ticking away!!!

I know what your saying, I'm 36 in Oct! Just going to take this year off at least though, brave you getting the opks out, although I do miss poas! I think the implant was a bit ott though as we're struggling to dtd now, especially as I'm back at work, knackered all the time. Contraception in human baby form

Aw look at little Riley!! Glad all is going well Michelle, he really is adorable!!
And the news about TTC again is exciting!! Lots of luck!! x

Aww he's still so Ickle is t he get he's about the same as Scarlett if not smaller hehe she's just over 8lb was 8lb at day 10 and it's day 16 now so probably around 8.4 or something , wow ur ttc well gd luck and u watch u will catch right away as they say ur highly fertile after a baby hehe , he is a little cutie Michele xx

Just tracking my cycles at the moment, until we get the all clear to TTC properly at my post birth check with the Dr. Which is on Monday. I got my first positive opk yesterday but haven't DTD as hubby was working some really crazy hours lately so we have hardly seen him.

Riley was weighed yesterday and he is now 9lbs 7oz!!! He has his 8 week screening check on Wednesday. Can't believe he is 8 weeks already.
I have noticed that Riley has a weird dimple type thing on his bottom which I will have to get the Dr to check it out. Not sure what is is or why he has it. Been googling it and apparently is called a sacral dimple. Never heard of it before.
