What's your day job/OH's day job?

Like you Laura, I work in HR 3 days a week for a PLC Company - I also spend a lot of time dealing with Disciplinary's, absences, Tribunals - blah, blah I hate it!
I then child mind one day a week and the rest of the time I make Cupcakes (started my own Cupcake Company in Feb this year)
My OH works for a builders merchants x

I remember you saying HR before Jenny - glad I'm not the only one! I sometimes wonder why I chose it as a career choice! Wouldn't say it's a happy news job lol.

Cupcakes on the other hand and childminding sound good!

Jenny - You make cupcakes?! I so badly wanted a cupcake tower thingy for my wedding cake but hubby wanted a more traditional cake lol. Plus the ones I liked were almost £5 per cupcake and we had over 200 people! x x

I'm a translator/dogsbody at a law firm and my oh works in industrial cleaning (that's his excuse for not wanting to do any domestic cleaning!) I used to be a teacher, I might go back to that part time if I ever get my BFP.

Weggi - you have my dream job! I volunteered in oxfam a cpl years back and loved it!! Esp the sorting and window dressing!

These days I work in a supermarket (love it loads - ppl I work with are a great bunch!), volunteer at a children's bullying charity (love this job sooo much & ppl there are bloody amazing & there's an office dog who is adorable!!), I make and sell my own artwork online (will post link tomorrow to my blog if you'd like?) and i sell Phoenix cards.

again another HR person here. i'm a HR advisor in a non departmental public body and like laura and jen spend most of my days working on absence issues, disiciplinary, grievance and recruitment. no idea why i do this. i am currently studying part time at university for my CIPD postgrad diploma in HR management, finish in May next year - yay!!

OH works for a stockbrokers in the city of london in the IT department so is a wiz with techy stuff xx

I own my own Travel Agency (work all on my own in a wee shop in a wee town). Been a travel agent for (ahem) 23 years cos I was a YTS at 16yrs and I'm now 38 - LOVE my job but could do without the stress sometimes. Its great however being my own boss and get to see soooo many places in the world. Just back from Barcelona and won an award for "outstanding performance" selling tours to China !! Wahey!! They gave an award, £50 capital bonds vouchers and .....wait for it....a guaranteed place on a travel agent's educational trip to China or Indochina in November next year!!! Hope they can delay that one for a year eh??? I sooo want to go but cant do it if pregnant or wee baby in arms!!

I plan to carry on working if I have a baby but bring him/her with me. If that's too hard I'll close up shop and do what I do from the comfort of home.

I'm a student midwife, I have my own Ceilidh/Wedding band which is great for some extra money on the side OH is a music teacher and helps my Dad with his business from time to time.
