October 2017 Mummies - The last thread :)

Nice bag, very similar to my babymoov one, which is currently sat packed as baby's hospital bag!

My midwife has gone on mat leave so had to phone the office to book my 36 week 'pre-birth' appt at home for next week.
The one who they think is covering my doctors is off till next Wednesday, so she isn't going to be able to confirm they can see me on Thursday, until the day before! I'm sure there won't be an issue, but with my pre eclampsia last time, I feel like I need to heavily rely on being checked over.

I'm only working Saturday and Sunday and then I'm on maternity leave (well, annual leave). I got 6 days off before my daughter arrived, so hoping for a bit more time off this time!
X

Good to know the bag is also durable, maybe I will use it with my second as well :) My husband also like it.I was actually wondering if it could be used as a hospital bag too, but I do think I will have far too many things to fit in it.

I can imagine how important is to get checked regarding your pre eclampsia background and hope midwives will keep a close eye on it to pick up quickly is something is not right.
Wish I could go on maternity now too but unfortunately 3 more weeks at work for me( 2 are on annual leave). I do hope will get some things sorted when on leave for the baby because I didn't started washing the clothes yet.

Amy good luck with the midwife appt today! x

Thanks everyone! This pregnancy had been a total breeze compared to my first with my son, until the past few weeks lol I've got carpel tunnel syndrome now and just feel like a big swollen whale although im already on maternity leave which is helping big time!!

My son was born at 35+6, i was induced early due to a lack of fluid around him and they thought he was measuring too small. He was nice healthy 5lb 13oz and has been wild ever since so running round after him is taking its toll this time round.

How is everyone feeling prepared wise? I have the nesting bug and want to sort everything in this house from top to toe, i just dont have the energy or the enthusiasm to do it haha!

Hey ladies,

MW appt went well. Baby was being really active so she had to listen to the hb for a bit to check it relaxed. Bump measuring 32, so still 2 behind but I'm not fussed as the growth scan before was fine. Baby is still in the right position but is 1/5 engaged. Not really sure what it means as from looking on the internet different things say 1/5 or 5/5 is more! Confused.
I don't get any appts at home unless I decide to have a sweep or stretch(?) after 40 weeks. Apparently at 40w they will book me in for a 41w appt and book a sweep if I want. Then by 40+12 they will get me into the hosp for an induction. I think they do up to two 24hr inductions and then I assume its drips and etc. But hopefully she'll come of her own accord.

We don't go through a birth plan unless I particularly want to, but I'm pretty sure I know the situ and what I'd ideally like to happen. And I'm not stuck to any one thing happening- provided she's ok I'm happy.

Only 3 weeks left at work, then 2 weeks leave before mat leave. Cant wait, but will be weird. I have definitely been nesting and trying to get as much of the house sorted as possible, but I am now having a dip in motivation and chilling a bit, probably cos I'm back at work. I was a bit panicked about all we had to do before hubby got home, but we seem to have smashed through loads of it so I'm happy. If only I could get him to generally tidy up after himself and put his socks in the washing bin I'd be winning......x

Ah Jordan, there is quite a few of us due on that date, who will be first - eek!

This is my thought of the day, pregnancy style;
I was getting ready to go to a friends bbq, had just got out the shower, and debated putting a panty liner on. I then thought to myself, 'I have just washed my jeans, and if I laugh too much, then I may pee myself a little so yes, I will put one on'!
God, how my life has changed! Gone are the days when I would just worry what shoes to wear!

Hahahaha Amy, I can relate with husband not putting socks away!!!! Drives me mad! Glad appointment went well :)

Lea! That made me laugh. I quite often have the liner debate with myself. Decided now to wear one all the time as it'll save regret if something were to happen

Jordan, it seems like we are all trying to get the house in order before baby's arrival. Ours is coming together (thank god) I just have to now set some basic ground rules going forward for my husband's son....he won't tell him so I will have to be the bad guy!

Anyway, decorated are back on Saturday - after having a break while husband was away. So it'll be good to get things completed. Also, I can't put furniture up till they're done!

As you can tell from the time, I'm struggling sleeping again :( I've just noticed it's the 1st of September......we are having babies next month ladies!!!!!!!!!!

Morning ladies ! September is here , can't believe we have the babies next month!!!! Or this month , depends on the little cheeky monkeys :D

Same here with the husband , he wouldn 't put anything back in it' s place unless I tell him haha
Haha Lea , can totally relate ! Worst thing was that I thought I am leaking but now I think it was just me not controlling , oh how embarassing , liners all day everyday now !

Again just one trip to toilet and slept from 22pm until 6:30 am :D I woke up maybe 2 more times cause baby was kicking but otherwise pleased ! Let's see how it goes when hubby is starting dayshift again cause he was nightshifts for the last 2 weeks so I was sleepibg on my own

Have a lovely Friday , just 3 more weeks at work yey :D

Morning ladies,

I have to wear a small pad everyday due to discharge (tmi) so who knows if I'm leaking or not. Getting my hair coloured this morning, weird to think I'll need to book the next one for a Saturday so hubby can look after baby. I cant just take a Friday off work and skip around in town with no responsibilities!

And OMG- we're having babies next month! Eek!x

Morning all,

EEEEKKKKKKKK It's September yippee, can't believe we have got this far, I didn't think I could so am so excited (and terrified!!) but wow the finish line is close now! What a journey we have shared!

I laughed and sneezed at the same time the other night and wet myself, was mortified, thankfully was on my own ha ha, but it was like a warning bell to wear liners from now on just in case ha ha

Ok so a TMI moment, but I have been having really bad cramps, lower back pain and now a lot of clear snotty like discharge is there? Any ideas? I am enduring a massive amount of stress at the moment (ex + court + major issues = stress x 1000000 at 35 weeks preggers!)

love to all xx Happy September xx

Oooh yay, we'll have our babies next month! Is anyone else really excited to have a newborn over all the holidays? Hoping to dress my squishy up as a pumpkin for Halloween haha.

Flick do you think it could be part of your plug? I've heard it can start coming away a few weeks before birth, I'd ask to be checked over but it's probably just your body gearing up. I've had a few episodes of 'regular' braxton hicks but they always calm down after an hour or so x

Could be plug, last time my plug went though it was when the mecconium (don't know how to spell it|) was noticed and had to dash to have my boy then so this time it is clear, will see :) exciting times, who will be first eek!

I am very excited for a baby over the holidays, bought an elf costume for Xmas ha ha, cruel mummy x

I've been getting loads of discharge from the start, but not really snotty. I get back aches and pains that sometimes radiate round the front but I find paracetamol and lots of water helps. I'm getting really bad lower rib pains at the mo. Like my ribs are stretching out. Its very annoying and uncomfortable.

Been to the dentist, had my hair done and been food shopping and now I'm knackered. Going to collapse on my bed for a bit. Feel like I need to be lying out.

I'm really excited to have the whole of Christmas off and to be able to get fully into the Christmas spirit. We've been given a few festive baby grows already. Pleased we had the inlaws round for last Xmas so we don't have to have them this year! Already decided we're staying in and my mum and dad are coming to us. They live close so can walk round and I know if there are any issues they will help with food and/or baby

I am also overly excited to have holidays off and the baby with us, bet this will be the best Christmas so far ! First one in our very own first home and with the little one .

Just leaving work now, almost cried earlier because of back pains. They get terribly painful I can barely walk.. I was meant to go to do food shopping as well but I am not able so I will go to lie in bed most probably. Start to believe I am being a bit silly not taking any pain relief, I am keeping myself for labor.

Cant wait for all the outfits i can dress baby in over the holidays! Poor wee soul will probably never forgive me in years to come when she looks back at the pictures haha! Its also really nice for us because my son is 3 and a half so hes really starting to understand about Santa and get excited about it all so his wee face on christmas morning will make it really special!

We had everyone over for christmas last year, it was our first one in a big enough house to have everyone but this year were going to my aunts house so that i can relax and enjoy it all! Cant wait!!

I've been getting sharp shooting pains down below (tmi sorry) a lot recently! They stop me in my tracks but iv googled them and as far as i can see its just baby playing drums on some nerves down there! I never had anything like this first time round so its a whole new, not so pleasant experience haha!

Cant believe she will be here next month regardless of how you look at it!! Im mega excited and terrified all at the same time! Got a growth scan next week to see how shes doing after the complications with my first pregnancy but im really nervous they are going to tell me shes a big bruiser haha! Her brother was tiny and shot out quick like a pee!!

Exciting times for everyone!

OMG- my boobs are leaking! Well, one of them, and only a bit. But OMG

I feel ok, just my bump feels too heavy at times and I get odd twinges underneath belly button.

I'm just buying the finishing things for my hospital bag, baby's bag is done. Decided after visiting birth centre, I'm taking flip flops rather than slippers as it was so hot there. I also ordered a handheld fan from Amazon which I just need to buy batteries for. I'm unsure what else to pack for myself.

I am also writing a draft for my birth preferences which I will give a copy of to each midwife/nurse. As I'm doing hypnosis, there are certain things I need while waiting for baby to arrive.....quiet voices, minimal interruptions etc. So I'm writing it all down as I won't be able to explain in depth while in labour as I'll be "zoned out" :) so preparing little instruction booklet things which will explain for me! I'm onto week 4/6 of the hypnosis course.....we are almost done ladies!

Just been out for a walk with hubby and had to cut it short as I am in agony. Really bad pains in my lower back and radiating round the front. I'm now collapsed on the sofa for a bit with water and a dissolvable paracetamol. Guessing its just the weight of my belly putting pressure on everything and making me move differently.

Going to try at make this productive by ordering the base for the car seat, found it online for £75 instead of £90. Yay

We tackled Sainsbury's on a Saturday afternoon :'( now on the sofa with some Quavers, trying to recover from the ordeal ;) been getting pains low down again. Baby having a proper move around today....feels like baby wants to escape :(

We left for shopping at 10 am and we got back at 9 pm . Awesome ! I feel I will collapse soon . I managed to buy all things from my list for the hospital bag , now just have to put them all togheter .

X
