*** October 2015 Mummies ***

I went to zumba up until 34 weeks last time . Couldn't imagine doing that this time haha! All my "exercise" is running around after toddler and walking with buggy, but I don't seem to be in bad shape for all this. Just got my bike back up and running for some fair weather cycling, hubby has got a toddler seat now for his, so we can all go out at the weekend.

Wow there's no way I'll be doing zumba haha..Cycling and swimming both sound good. I'm totally crap at doing any formal exercise although I am really busy at work up and down stairs and wards doing laps around the place (kind of burn out with the long shifts)...I'll wait and see what she suggests I've been super duper tired all pregnancy too - see what my M.O.T comes back like.

I go to an NCT run 'relax, stretch and breath' pregnancy style yoga class it's 2 hours in the evening and every time I've been I've come out feeling relaxed and muscles nicely stretched and just aaaah chilled. we get to have a chin wag with other mums-to-be and some even bring their new babies in and tell us their labour stories etc. It's 6 quid a time but worth it for some 'me' time out from the daily grind. Recommend it, check out the NCT website for the nearest one to you hun x

I didnt know that about the whole V day thing
How exciting!

Im poorly atm
Got infected sinuses or something its thick green sludge im coughing up and blowing out!
And my throat feels like I've swallowed glass and i just feeling generally lousy...!
Not fun. Especially as i cant really take much for it

My 4d scan is booked for 4 weeks today! Very excited to see his wee face again

Is it normal to find movements kinda horrible? While its reassuring i can definitely say i don't like it. Not yet anyway. I've been feeling him for almost 2 weeks
Think my hubby will be able to feel him soon?

I've not even thought about when to go on maternity!

I've been getting bad leg cramps during the night lately
My calves are like bricks
Walking up stairs my legs feel like they're dying
Even just standing briefly my legs feel burning
It makes the prospect of exercise difficult to even contemplate lol

Thanks ladies! 3 weeks to Tri3 OMG!!!! Happy V Day Stacey & Fliss

Gail you'll get more use to the movements, the key to hubby feeling them is timing lol. I noticed the day of my 20 week scan that I could see movement on outside :), had hubby on standby to feel from that point.

I'm suffering with heartburn the now, drinking Gaviscon straight from the bottle haha! I think I would like the Yoga as I feel a lot of times that I just need stretched!

I'm 24 weeks today, app says I'm in week 25 of my pregnancy xx

Girl in my work is doing the hypnobirthing course, think I'll just go with the glow when it comes to birth lol.

Gail look at the difference on our tickers, I'm 24 weeks today & says 112 days to go, your 22 weeks & your says 110 days lol xx

If my maths was crap! id not argue with the ticker as id be double digits sooner
Haha
i Think its about 126!

Hi ladies, Hope we're all okay! Sorry to hear you're not feeling great MrsS :(

Work is manic at the moment but my bosses are keeping an eye on me to try and keep my stress levels down. I'm feeling really breathless lately too. I was anaemic having Oliver and i'm sure the same is happening again.

baby is moving loads now....have had a few quiet days but he's making up for it tonight.

Think we've decided on a name too... xx

Good morning Ladies!

Thanks for the tip Stacey, the class sounds really great and I will definitely check it out!

Gail, sorry you are feeling rubbish! At least you have the 4d scan to look forward to :) And I'm sure you will get used to feeling him move. Oh, and the leg cramps suck! Got it a couple of times at night!

I have not thought about hypnobirth. Will have to do some research!

I have my midwife appointment at 4pm today so early finish at work for me! Bonus!

Ps. Is anyone else getting freaked out by their belly button?! Mine has popped out and I juts can't bare to touch it!!!!! It gives me the creeps :oooo:

I downloaded an app on my phone last night for Hypnobirthing and listening to it last night it sent me straight to sleep. I thought I would give this a go as I labor for hours, so have plenty of time to take it all in :) I will keep you posted Karolina :)

How are you feeling today MrsS?

Good to see you back here Bonfire, when are you going on MAT leave? sounds like your job is go go go!

On exercise - Good work on the exercise ladies, I have been doing Aqua areobices, walking and swimming (not every week) hoping it will make it easier to shift the weight at the end :( it's going to be tough this time as I am an oldie

Hope you are feeling better Gail.

Karolina, tri3 definitely heads into freaky territory generally. My belly button stayed an inny last time but looking more this time like it will pop out (as I am fatter this time).

I cannot recommend hypnobirthing enough. I was lucky enough to find a lady last time who came to the house to do the sessions with us, and she was finishing her training, using us as her final case study, so it wasn't costly (she didn't charge us at all, but I gave her what I would have paid to do NCT). You need to have OH on board though as they need to do "training" with you. The worst bit is the "perineal massage" in the weeks before, but again, although icky and took our relationship to a whole new place , left me with minimal "damage" down there.

Jess's birth could have been horrendous (waters went Friday, she came Monday), but even though I didn't get the lovely natural birth I wanted, all the training I'd done and work hubby put in kept me super calm all the way through which just made all the difference. I'm convinced I'd have ended up with an emergency c section if I hadn't done the hypnobirthing stuff.

Omg! I just googled 'perineal massage' I don't know if me and hubby could do this! We are both a bit squeamish :oooo: Maybe we could only do parts of hypnobirth? The NCT services in Aberdeen are pretty rubbish so I would probably have to look online. Worth trying. Thanks for recommending x

HAHAHAHAHAHA, that just made me spit my tea everywhere!! lol I think you can chose how far you go with it all :) xx

Sara, the pictures looked really scary!!! I kid you not

Just googled perineal massage - Not Safe For Work!

I'm starting to think a little bit about the birth now. Before I was all for whatever drugs they can give me but I'm starting to think I might try to go without an epidural. Anyone experience of birthing pools??

I asked my mum to rate the pain of contractions from 1-10 and she put it at 9.5...not very reassuring! but she had four children and got through it...so maybe I could too? I'm going to have a read about hypnobirthing. Can't do any harm anyway. I'm a bit of a nervous nelly and anything that will help me would be good.

I think it is more about mind set than pain, I labour for days normally so end up needed the pain relief because of sheer exhaustion. I would say to stay focused on the fact that baby has to come out one way or another and that everything will be just fine, no matter how they are born is key.

It does hurt, but it's also over in a relatively short space of time in the grand scheme of things, and the prize at the end is so worth it :)

Just read up on things, and don't feel pressured into not having pain relief, if you want it have it! your baby will still come out! :) xx
