*** November 2014 Mummies! ***

When we called the ward tonight nothing has changed apart from there putting tubes into her to feed her. Non of the family get on so gonna be a fun few days off having to update anyone and trying not to rip there head off.. My cousin texted my husband tonight asking for the keys to my Nan's flat (wasn't polite either) to get her some stuff and try and play the nice person when she hasn't bothered to visit my nan since Christmas! So hubby told her no.. With everything the doctors have to do it's easier to keep the hospital gown that has no back rather than lift her up, put her through pain and disturb her when she's already probably feeling like shit.. My Nan has 3 kids.. Her daughter is currently on holiday in wales and nobody could get hold of her.. When we finally did the first thing she said was "Going to need to sit down and sort putting her in a home" "oh so shall I come back home?" And then witter on about her holiday.. My dad is a lorry driver and was currently in Liverpool when he got the call but straight away he just said forget it I'm coming home - Didn't wanna tell him how bad she was until he got there especially with him driving a large vehicle & my uncle didn't really say much about coming to visit (he lives in Yorkshire) but because his girlfriend has a bad chest he decided not to.. Surely you'd put your mum first :-/ xx

Katie...I thought i had posted sooner, but obviously i hadnt. Sorry about your gran! I am thinking about you.

My grandma had a stroke in her 90s a couple of years ago, the hospital told us to preparefor the worse and when we visited her she after the stroke she had no speach and no movement. She could not communicate with us and it was really hard. It was a couple of months but her speech came back and her writing skills (if not a little messy now) but its amazing how well she recocvered considering how bad it looked to start with. I am thinking of you and your family at this timr. Xxxx

Thank you Applecrumble! That's reassuring to know! I worry more because she has dementia and over the years it's gone worse to the point of her asking the same question at least 5 times in an hour.. I hope it doesn't make her any worse :-(. In a way she would be happy to pass away now.. She's always complained that she wanted to live til 80 and as she says "no bugger up there is listening" we had to sit and talk to my dad about resuscitation (question the nurse asked) and it was so awful but he agreed if it happened she wouldn't want to have it.. Trying to hold it in and stay together more for my dad as he's a bit of a drinker and never been the same since my mum died.. I'm so glad he didn't see my nan in a&e, hubby wasn't expecting me to get upset over it as I've lost so many people in my life that when I'm told someone else has died I don't really say much or cry (sounds heartless) but seeing her look so lifeless broke I just hope she doesn't have to suffer with this :-( If my nan leaves us I don't know what my dad would do - even made him come up to our house for tea last night as I didn't want him being on his own and being upset.. Woke up with a horrible headache this morning.. I'm guessing it's stress related but it's bloody painful - hopefully today holds some better news xxx

Hope you get some better news today, hope your dads coping ok too.

Thank you Mellie! Rang the hospital this morning and still no change :-( x

Our daughter was going to be called Freya, until she came and Amy suited her better.

We already had the name Taylor if she was a boy, so had one ready.

Amy has my name as her middle one, so Taylor will have Ashley as his middle one.

Feel all pregnant today, like a beached whale or fat elephant....

Katie- sorry to hear about your Nan and hope things improve soon.

Congrats on team :pink: applecrumble. I was right in my guess too :D hehe.

Im feeling like a beached whale today too... got terrible indegestion.... this pregnancy lark sucks...
need to keep reminding myself about cute babies at the end..

Same with the beached whale thing girls felt huge today!!

Katie keep ur chin up Huni must be hard but make sure ur getting the rest u need.

They're cute baby Phoenix but surely they wouldn't last 2 mins n washer be constantly going haha xx

I was really tempted to go with the cloth nappies. But it would just be too much trouble as we have no tumble dryer and I think I'll end up running out of clean ones. Think It would be easier if you had a summer baby because then you could hang them out.

Am I the only one who feels tiny today. My bump seems to have shrunk again. In work all weekend though, that always make me feel big, tired and ugly! Haha

Haha what do you mean if you had a summer baby? You do know how long babies are in nappies don't you hahaha. She will still be in them in the summer, and next summer!

Washer isn't constantly going, only one wash a day or every two days depending on how many you have ! :)

Nah the newborn ones only last until about 12lbs but they're too cute for me to say no to. I kind of see them more as a cute accessory, like cute baby clothes, they don't last two minutes either but you still buy them because they're cute! :) (I'm definitely more excited about buying cloth nappies than I am for buying baby clothes. Besides people keep telling me not to buy any as there are babies in the family that will be handing down clothes) and I really don't want to use disposables.

Mainly because of how many nappies they use when their first born compared to when they're older. I think if I had a dryer or somewhere to hang them then I'd have probably gone for it. There's just no space, it's going to be hard enough trying to dry the babies clothes in our place. Been trying to think up places to put a dryer, but the only place would be the bedroom which I don't really want!

The cloth nappies are ridiculously cute though, that was one of the massive pros for me. A baby tottering around with them on looks so much cuter than with your bog standard nappy.

Can see the pros but also the cons my hubby gives me enough washing I don't need anymore haha.

Xx

I've been back and forth a few times, just not practical for me at the moment. :(
That's a lovely collection you've got going though. Your baby is definitely going to have the best dressed bum! :)

If you did want to use cloth I could help you figure out a way to do so without a dryer! Most people don't use dryers. But if not I will keep my lips sealed and stop going on about cloth :D

Wow they look so pretty though don't they!! X

Totally. I'd hate to tell you how much we've spent so far on them. But it's going to be nice, the security of not needing to buy nappies every week!

I was just thinking how many do u get in a pack and how much are they?? X

Depends on the pack size though I worked out about 15p a nappy if you buy the big packs of pampers.

That's £1.50 a day if newborn baby is going through 10 a day!!!! Yikes. £1.50 a day just for an ugly disposable that your little one will poop on and will sit in a landfill for 550 years. No thanks!!!!! :|!
