**** November 2012 Mummies **** (everyone welcome)

I've finally found a sling I can work (I have a bubasling James hates and a Mei Tai I haven't even got round to trying)

This one is a second hand - from SIL - MacLaren. I tried James in it earlier and he loved it...

In-laws live literally a 90 second walk from us so James can go in the sling, it's pissing down but I'll take my big golf umbrella and that saves us needing to take the pram with us just to nip across the road.

Happy new year everyone - here's to an amazing year watching our babies grow!! Exciting times ahead!

Now Im off to bed!! Lol zx

@sallybee - not sure about well behaved - J has his moments! His favourite trick is refusing to settle in his crib at night, despite sleeping well afterwards and going down without a murmur after subsequent feeds. The other night he had me pacing the bedroom from 10 until 1am. Last night was an improvement, he went down at 11:30.

I suspect they all have their good and bad points.

Cathy has hers too but I meant everyone's LOs seem to be sleeping pretty well at the moment, touch wood it continues! Xx

Tonight we bathed her, gave her a bottle (using new variflow teats - she sputtered and dribbled a bit but finished the full feed in about half an hour without falling asleep yay!) And put her down. After about 20 mins she pood lol but kept everything low key and no talking then put her back down, after about 30 mins she settled herself (yay!) and has been asleep since! Here's hoping its another good night for us.

Happy new year November mummies and babies - and all the other mummies too! hard to believe they have knly been here a month or two! xx

Happy New Year!!

James slept from about 11 to 3.30 and then 4am until 9.30, so not quite his usual long sleep!

It didn't help that I was up until 2am

Cathy was an angel and I actually managed s full nights sleep in our bed, however OH was up from 5 and had four nappy changes in 45 minutes  she's still waking up for feeds but going straight down after woohoo xx

I still havnt had a proper smile :( is this normal??

Happy new year everyone, 2012 was the best year of my life, new home and my 1st baby :) Heres to hoping 2013 is just as special!

Iv been giving ella water after one of her feeds and so far it seems to be doing the trick. x

They say 6 weeks aprox for first smile hun, but of course this differs from baby to baby.

I've been giving James an oz of water each day for the past 4 days and although he's not poo'ing everyday when he goes my God does he have a clear out. I've never seen anything like the monster poo he did yesterday.

James has been feeding like mad today, 25oz's already and he is stirring for another feed. He's literally been feeding every 2 hours... Maybe the massive poo yesterday has given him more room in his tummy LOL!

I am getting so worried about how much he eats. I am off to get him weighed on Friday so hopefully I can see a HV whilst I am at the clinic.

I guess it's better that he is eating lots than not eating enough?

I'm sure Cathy makes room for food by pooing, usually during a feed lol!

I've done bath, bottle, bed with her tonight, my first time bathing her myself (its usually OHs job but he's at work) it went brilliantly. She's a little bit fidgety in her Moses basket but seems to be settling herself well so I'm very pleased! Hope she stays down a while now xx

I'm going to start bath, bottle, bed tomorrow.

James loves the bath but screams blue murder when you take him out so it's not exactly relaxing for him!

I may try it every other day for a while?

Also need to get him to sleep in his crib, currently he'll only sleep in carry cot of pram

I have got a routine with ella yet i will be starting though very soon. Are you going to bath every night?? Ella hasnt taken to the bath yet but im sure she will get used to it. Also still pondering over which moniter to get, one with a camera or a mat, to be honest id like both but cant afford lol x

Cathy loves the bath too - she just lays there chilling lol. Yeah every night Ruthie - Im using a baby bath so doesn't use too much water (although I have to fill it with a saucepan due to my taps being silly).

I wonder what it is about the pram and carry cot Nat? Have you tried forcing something as a comfort tool like a blanket or teddy as that might make transition easier (best to use two tho in case one gets lost/in wash). We put a bunny toy in the basket with Cathy whenever she sleeps but not sure if its working yet - but maybe as James is a little older? Xx

I didn't want one with a camera but now I'm seriously considering it! I wish they weren't so expensive too, luckily its my birthday soon so I'll probably just ask for money and get one with that. I suppose you have to look on it as an investment? Would you like Ella to go in her own room soon or is it just for peace of mind? Xx

What cuties everyone's LOs are and some cracking smiles! Ruthie..your LO will smile soon every baby is different :) I just spoke to Madison loads in a silly voice and she soon responded :)

Ill upload some photos soon, we are at the inlaws still having a ball! Got lots of snaps of the little lady she's been spoiled rotten by everyone! We've had a few shopping trips to buy lots of pink and I tell you ill be bankrupt at this rate. It's so hard to rein in the spending for the little lady!

Has anyone had much thought on whether they want to return to work? I'm in 2 minds still, I'm in the forces so for me it's giving up my career but I'm not sure i can bear to be without my little lady? Thinking of a part time job instead?!

x
