*March mummies Tri 3!*

Some really good names on here. I found a few I like too, but then I checked what one of the names means and did not like it. Ha ha I will keep looking.

I actually even did not think about cot mobile. Not sure which one to get with music or just a natural one.

My hospital bag will be packed with stuff. My list is very long, Id rather have more stuff with me than forget something.

Tena ladies nappy samples arrived today. I think I will try them as well as normal maternity pads.

What "entertainment" are you planning to bring with you to the hospital? Candles were mentioned. I will bring adult colouring book and pencils :). Oh can be a good entertainer too.

I think I’ll just listen to music on my phone and some books, last time I was in agony so didn’t need much! Got a hypno birthing book for this time and an mp3 so will listen to that.

My hubby took his hand held games console last time, he got really bored as after I had the diamorphine was out of it for a while!

Merry - I saw the different spellings but like Adeline the best aswell, I think people will know how to say it as will go for Madeline without the M.

Yes I want a girl but I really want another son so can use Jonah! No idea on middle names going to let hubby choose.

Some really lovely names up for grabs here :)

I’m going to put a post on man page about nurseries I think so I can see what everyone else has done. I loved Violets room in our old house, had a big blossom tree on the wall and felt so calm in there. Gutted we had to leave it behind. She chose her own decoration in our new house when we did her room up last year and our 3rd bedroom is too small really for any proper wall art etc but I’m looking forward to getting it all done now. Got a few things now hanging in her wardrobe and all the wipes etc so looking much more like a baby room

I've got some hypnobirthing mp3s to listen to, going to make sure I've got a mix of music too. I'll have my kindle but not sure I'll be in the mood for reading! Also got a few films, series etc lined up on Netflix, just lighthearted, easy to watch stuff like the Harry Potter films, Friends, that sort of thing! Pack of cards, some crochet... As I'm planning to be at home I'm hoping I'll have a wide range of options!

I love hearing all the name choices they are all so lovely! Ive just realised that I shouldn't give two fiddlers f**k what people think or comment about a name choice, people are always going to have unfavourable opinions so I have actually really become fond of the name Maverick. Also it dawned on me that my Grandfathers name is in there which is nice as we are close. He is called Eric.

I was just going to bring some easy read magazines to pass the time in hospital for labour but dont know if I will be able to concentrate or how I will feel?! Haven't thought of anything else to put the time in. Might be worth just bringing our tablet with us so I can watch light hearted stuff on it. Can be used for music as well.

I got LED candles but they are bit too yellowy so am looking into other ones.

1st February, there will certainly be some March babies this month, its so exciting!!!!

I was thinking that Merry about March babies going to be Feb babies! I know some March mummies have Feb sections and a couple of us are bound to be early!

I would be suprised if I have a Feb baby as not 37 weeks until early March. Back from midwife - bump measuring not as big this week so don't have to go for a growth scan quite yet - got another appointment in 2 weeks with the midwife, everything else is normal blood pressure, urine etc. Really want try and let nature take its course this time if possible but staying open minded!

Got the Emma diary "getting ready for birth" pack fromm the midwife, dont sign up for these as hate the junk mail but this one was from the midwife. Got 4 papmpers nappies, travel wipes which really handy, dettol wipes, mini Bepanthen nappy cream and a mini baby dove.

1 week, 1 day of work to go can't wait. Came home to work after my midwife so think going to have a sneaky nap later before picking up my son.

I'm a bit tired today. Went to John Lewis to look at muslins. Theirs are soft and nice. Then sat in my car and almost fell asleep.

4 weeks of work to go. Im off tomorrow cause I have breastfeeding class.

Ordered nipple guards today from Amazon and they gave me free Mam baby bottle. There is always something free on prime.

I struggle to walk fast lately. Legs feel very stiff. Do you experience the same girls?

Summertime, glad your midwife app was good and no need to check further.

I'm thinking about my scan on Monday. Hope it goes well too.

what is your scan for Charlotte - is it a growth scan or for the placenta/cord?

I am exhausted - just about to go for an hour nap, no sleeping so well at night - bump/back ache and needing the loo so hard to get through full days.

There is a lot of lovely things in John Lewis - my boss got me a voucher for there for Xmas so think I will treat myself to something nice for baby - maybe a special outfit.

I've got quite a few bits in my Amazon basket, waiting until off work to order so can be home for parcel. In the Emmas diary book in a hospital list so going to use that to make sure I don't forget anything.

Hope your breastfeeding class goes well - mine is part of my all day workshop on Sunday

Summertime, scan on Monday is to check the cord again. Hope it's ok and I can carry on 2 in 1 full term.

I'm sooo tired. Got home from work and need to clean the house as I always do it on Thursdays :) but feeling like getting on the sofa and having a nap :nap:

Its crap we dont have John Lewis here in Northern Ireland. I used to live in Scotland and loved shopping there.

ST glad bump measurement is levelling off so far. Charlotte not long to go until your scan on Monday when you will know more and be reassured. How was your breastfeeding class?

Today is my last day of work yipee!!!! Colleagues brought in buns and cake for after lunch and they are also taking me out for dinner after work today.
SO relieved I am leaving now, it feels just right - not too early and not too late. Although my job isnt physically demanding I am pretty tired in other ways.

I have just done up my birth plans and am undecided about the syntometrine injection for the placenta and the Vitamin K one for the baby.

What is everyone elses thoughts?

Loveandpeace, yes John Lewis has some good stuff there for babies and sometimes even cheaper than Mothercare.

I got a cute knitted blanket with lions on and will also get white muslins. They are very soft.

Breastfeeding class was very good! The lady answered every question I had on my mind! I feel a lot better cause I know what to do.

Why are you hesitating about injection for placenta? I think Id rather have it delivered quick in 15 min than wait for couple hours. You can give it a go and wait for natural delivery and if you get tired you can always ask for an injection.

I think vitamin K is very important for babies, they are born without it. So I will say yes to that too.

Little green sheep mattress and mattress protector arrived yesterday. Looking very nice :)

Aw the green sheep bedding sounds cute!
I dont know how soon to get the crib bedding set up. I have the moses basket ready downstairs with clean sheets but have covered it with a sheet as dont want it getting dusty. Thinking it could potentially be almost 5 more weeks before baby is born (if overdue) so its hard to judge how soon to get everything sitting ready?!

I think Im just put off with some of the potential side effects from the injection and hoping that if I have a birth with no meds the placenta will dispel sooner with natural hormones rather than injection. But DH also said why wait and just get it out sooner rather than later and I'll probably be feeling like sh*t physically anyway so wont even notice any side effects!

Yes I think I will go with the Vitamin K injection as its only a vitamin afterall .

I know I had them with my son, but can't remember the pros and cons - hoefully I will be more informed after my antenatal session on Sunday!

That's great you found your BF class useful Charlotte.

L&P - bet you feel amazing having finished work. I finish a work today and can't wait, really tired and quite stressed but know it's only one more week - keep telling myself I can make it!

My hubby is taking me away for a romantic weekend to the peak District straight after my last day next Friday - my son is spending the weekend at his grandparents. Its an early birthday present, we didn't want to go on my actual birthday at the end of the month just incase. I think when you have a newborn any couple time is hard to come by so getting it in whilst we can!! I think once I finish it's really going to sink in that all being well we will have a new baby in the house in less than 7 weeks!!

L& P I'm going to start getting ready straight away @ 35 weeks just want everything done. All baby bits are in the nursery so will be easy to get out once baby arrives.

Getting my car valeted next week then going to get the car seat base in and ready. Going to wash all the play mats and car seat covers etc aswell. I'm not really tond of tidying up but something so lovely about sorting out baby clothes!

Sorry for spamming the thread but just seen 4 mummies are due the 1st of Feb - which means next week some of us will be full term?! Tri 3 seems to be flying by.

Aw some of you already have finished work. That is awesome. I still got 4 weeks to go.

February will go quickly as it's a short month. As of bedding I bought 2 mattress protectors, a sheet and a sleeping bag. As I won't be using moses basket and will put my baby into cot. Hope he likes it. My oh sometimes wakes up at night to go to the loo and I'm worried about moses basket being moved. They are not very stable. So we will put cot together at the end of Feb.

Have you tried car seat yet? I could brand new and actually haven't tried to put in the car yet. Need to learn how to use it.

Summertime, enjoy weekend away. It's so romantic :)

L&p - my gut reaction for the placenta injection is not to have it, but had an interesting conversation with my midwife about it. She's very much into natural birthing, a qualified aromatherapist etc, but basically said she'd just go with the injection on the basis that the placenta has done its job, you'll want to give your attention to the baby, and if the placenta doesn't come out after an hour they'll give you the jab anyway! I've said that my preference is to let it happen naturally but I have no strong feelings against it, and I'll see what happens on the day :) And happy last day of work! I've got a week to go...

Summertime - I'm 37 weeks on Tuesday. Still not quite ready to believe that!

I've got the Moses basket made up with clean bedding but it's in a plastic wrapping so it doesn't get covered in cat hair too soon :) Not built the cot yet but all bedding, muslins, blankets and first size clothes have been washed and ready in the wardrobe for a couple of weeks. I'm perfectly happy to leave my own clothes strewn around the bedroom but there's something very satisfying about seeing all baby's things ready and waiting!

I'm due 1st but will be having elcs at 39 weeks. Been hiding in Feb board and lurking here.

It's nuts to think I'll have a baby by the month end.

Im 37 weeks on Monday so full term then!

Woke up a few times in the night with really uncomfortable BH and just now had bad diarrhoea. I heard this could be a possible early sign of labour?! . Havent had diarrhoea since way before falling pregnant.
Or could just be the restaurant food from yesterday evening?

Eek...I know it can be a sign, but then it could also be an upset stomach :) And I guess diarrhoea could trigger the BHs to be stronger? I guess all you can do is wait and see! I've read that for first timers prelabour can go on for weeks, on and off, so hopefully you'll get a little longer to enjoy not being at work before the big day! Maybe have a bath and relax a bit to see if the BHs settle down? X
