Hey ladies, I am not in the process of IVF yet but will be calling to make my appointment this week. I just wanted to ask, when does treatment start, 1st day of next cycle or mid cycle etc? I just want to get an idea of when it will be starting. I am due on tomorrow so wondering if it will be next cycle. Also how long is the process from beginning to end or does that vary? Hope you don't mind me popping in with my questions xx

XxxxI wish u all the luck blueflower and grade 1 and 2 r both deemed excellent so don't worry atall. Its a bfn for meim just so confused by it as they were perfect day 4 embryos and im 28 with no known problems. Anyway im having abit of time awsy from the forum and ivf until jan when we will have another fet but good luck to everyone xxx

I am doing the long protocol and am on CD7, I'm due to start my Progynova on CD21 and then the prednisolone and buserelin on CD1 of the next cycle for 2 weeks then they add menopour after those two weeks (I think I have it the right way round) x
I wish u all the luck blueflower and grade 1 and 2 r both deemed excellent so don't worry atall. Its a bfn for me

My goodness its confusing
I don't know what protocol I will be on, I just know will be very high dose of some of the drugs, dreading that!! Will have to wait and see I guess, thanks xx

Its about twice as long as a normal cycle.
What I did both times was:
The pill on day 1 or 2 of AF for almost 3 weeks, you stop on a day to fit in with their appointments, short additional AF after stopping,
Follicle scan
Down Regulation injections for 1 week,
Half amount of Down reg plus stimulation injections for a week and a half,
Scans and blood tests in the last week, every other day,
Trigger injections 36 hours before egg collection,
Transfer 3 or 5 days later,
2 week wait from egg collection.
Test!
So about 8 weeks total.
Hope that makes sense?! My dose was high too but I was fine and the blood tests check for hyperstimulation and they reduce the dose if necessary.

Thanks blueflower, so I will most likely be going through it over Christmas time, didn't really want that but if theres a bfp at the end of it then its worth it. Hope it doesn't send me into a hormonal wreck, well any more so than I already am these days xx

Check with the clinic, they might not do treatments in the last 2 weeks of December until after New Year anyway. My IUI last year was just in time but it was a bit stressful when your cycle doesn't get a Christmas holiday!

The transfer went well! We didn't get our hopes up so were pleasantly surprised to hear that 11 embryos were still growing! The 3 best ones were much better quality than last time apparently, blastocysts at the right stage rather than early blastocysts. So the doc suggested transferring 2 rather than 3 in case we get triplets, which must be a good sign!
Last time I felt disappointed and tearful during the transfer but this time I felt positive and emotional in a good way! We may even be able to freeze the extra one if its ok tomorrow and the embryologist said that one of the others might even catch up!
Home now keeping warm and hope the embryos are snuggling in too!

I had my first tracking scan and thankfully my good side had the leading follicle, just one already at nearly 14mm, the next two are 10mm so doubt they'll catch up. Slightly concerned about timing as they don't do iui over the weekend and I'm thinking I'll be ready to trigger on Friday. I guess I have to trust them, expecting it to be next Monday xx

That sounds good Dee, the others might catch up, is this a medicated cycle? Maybe you'd trigger Saturday ready for Monday?

Indeed, if it starts looking likely I'll speak to the consultant...I don't to pay for it if it's really too late, maybe it'll be a slow grower although each month I've taken the clomid it's happened faster each time xx
