Ladies doing IUI or IVF - 2016 (11 BFPs so far!)

Nhs, our last free round
Transfer day! Without the sedation last time it was only 2 hours before that you weren't allowed to pee but for some reason with sedation it's 4 hours??? I had to set an alarm for 6am!
I've now got 3 hours to go! And another hour and a half of sitting around at home trying not to think about peeing lol

Good luck Millie!! I was never given an actual amount of hours not to pee, surely it varies from person to person?! I was just told to have a full bladder so I drank lots of water in the hour leading up to my ET.

I was the same syd, justvtold to haveca comfortably full bladder so I drank on the car on the way in! Lots of luck Millie, hope it all goes well xx

I was able to drink in the car on the way in last time but I guess because of the sedation it's diffferent. I'm not allowed to drink anymore 2 hours before. Which is fine I can totally do that but I had to drink enough so that I need to pee, but don't!

Thanks for the luck!
A bit nervous about the sedation but it's all worth it

Ah of course, I'd forgotten you're not allowed to drink before sedation, I only had it for ec not et.

I LOVE sedation :) I just love that feeling when you drift away and have never had any problems afterwards. I know you said you took a while to recover after ec but presumably that was due to the procedure rather than the sedation? Or don't you react well to it?

I arrived back in Hong Kong last night and have horrible jetlag so I'm a bit envious of your imminent sedation right now :)

It was a bit of both, I was sick both times afterwards and it took my stomach a while to recover :(
I still have pain but I'm pretty sure it's just the progesterone injections :( very sore tum!

Aw I'm sorry jetlag is awful :(

Thanks Lisey!

Oh that's a bit miserable :( I guess they can't even give you any anti-sickness medication. Keep us posted on how you're doing.

I was told to empty my bladder, then drink a certain amount about an hour before transfer last time. The second time I did transfer I'd been kept waiting too long and I had to run to the loo even after I'd got on the bed in the transfer room and the doctor was about to do it! Not sure why you need sedation for a transfer? Anyway, I hope it all goes well :) :)

Yep which is why I dreaded it a bit. I'm hoping this time I'll be fine. Wasn't in there for long! So hopefully less drugs lol.

Last cycles transfer took a long time of uncomfort and awkwardness, they had trouble with the cervix and decided to do a dummy run this cycle. After the dummy run it was decided I'd need sedation. I think that was just easier for everyone. I think the only part they had trouble with this time was getting a vein lol.

The embryo situation ended not too great, both of the 2 top grades are blasts but the other 6 had stopped growing. So we have 1 to freeze and got the other 1 transfered!
10th May will be official test date :)

I forgot you were getting sedated too. I'm glad you have your little embie on board, I hope it's a super quick tww for you!! Everything crossed xxx

Good luck Millie :-)

MrsS15 - how you feeling?

I had my consent forms through the post today, going to send them back recorded delivery tomorrow:-) xx

I'm feeling okay thanks hopeful. Nauseous when I don't eat often and the exhaustion is hitting me, I'm dying on my feet by 8pm. I had my bloods done on Monday and my hcg was 720 so feeling more confident after that!

Excellent the ball is rolling for you. We had to take the consent forms home and didn't go back for 2 weeks, it felt like forever. When's your next appointment?

Hope you're feeling okay Millie!

Syd how are you? Xx

hopefulmum, hope everything gets moving quickly for you x

MrsS, do you have a first scan date yet?

I'm pretty good! Had a longggg nap earlier :D then woke up to stabbing pains, would be great if it meant something but probably a bit too soon lol.

Good for you Millie :) not resting was and has been my biggest downfall, I'm not sleeping well at night either so I'm not helping myself.

Not heard anything about scan :( going to try phoning on Friday if I haven't heard anything! Xx

Millie two top grade blasts is fab! So you have one for freezing? I completely understand you being disappointed about the other 6 but that's still good news. Welcome to the TWW!

I'm fine thanks Leah, assuming I ovulated on the day of my IUI as that's my normal ovulation day which makes me 6dpo. I generally try not to symptom spot because a. it always ends in misery and b. the twice I've been pregnant I haven't had any symptoms at all before my bfp. Also the lovely progesterone suppositories make you cramp etc so there's no way of distinguishing any symptoms.

Presumably you'll get an early scan as it's IVF, I think at 6 weeks?

MrsS, oh no really, it's almost a week since your otd I'm surprised they haven't booked you in!

Syd, yep 1 for freezing :D hoping these 2 weeks don't drag! Do you have a test day?

I hate symptom spotting but it's so easily done!

I felt ever so sick this morning, my whole body went cold and sweaty and I'm super surprised I didn't throw up!
I sat in the bathroom for like 20mins just waiting for it to happen but eventually I warmed back up and felt like it wasn't going to happen for now at least. Trying to keep telling myself it's the sedation lol.
