*** June 2015 Mummies ***

Oh no Belfa, hopefully it's just a urine infection. That's what happened to our dog, weeing blood all over the house, bless him. But he just had a short course of antibiotics and it cleared up then. Nothing worse than seeing your animals ill, cannot even begin to imagine what it will be like when baby gets a bug or something!

I did a big order with boots over the weekend as we only have a teeny cupboard sized boots where I live and they hardly stock anything. Was all meant to arrive in store yesterday but it still hasn't turned up. Getting annoyed because my changing bag was part of the order and I can't wait to see it and fill it up! Got their maternity pads too (3for2), water wipes, cotton wool, all that sort of stuff for baby.

I still need to get a decent nightie for labour. I have some great pjs from mothercare which has buttons down the front to unleash the boob. Anyone seen anything online that I can order?

Also put in an order for a tens machine rental. I'm willing to try anything to keep me off those drugs in labour! X

I've got a couple of strappy nighties that I bought from M&S when I was pregnant with DD. I only wear them when it's warm so they're holding up quite well. They're not specifically maternity but easy enough to whip a boob out of. I find the maternity stuff can be pricey. I have one maternity nightie with poppers down the front.

I bought a tens machine when I was having DD. I knew I'd forget to send it back otherwise and it was hardly any more money to buy than to rent, from what I remember.

I think it's the Medi Fit 3 I've got. Only £25 http://www.med-fit.co.uk/tens-and-stimulation.html?price=20-30

Aww hope your dog is ok belfa.

I got a nightie with buttons at the top from primark for £4.50.

Well I've just helped my mum order a snuzpod for my bro found one in mamas and papas on next day delivery as their LO isn't settling on her own in cot (still in their room) as SIL breastfeeding. Hopefully this will help with her being closer. They have a really small room so cot has to go at end of bed.

I'm borrowing a tens machine off my bestie, actually ended up with 2 offers of borrowing one. Luckily I didn't put the rental order in lol.

Planning of heading to primark this Friday to pick up some nighties, cheap pants and some loose fitting trousers for return home... Have spent so much money already this month though that I am starting to feel a little guilty :S

x

I managed to find a couple of actual maternity nighties in Primark! DH was horrified when I put it on, he even asked me what on earth it was as he's never seen a nightie before .

Thanks for the link to that Buggy, it's cheaper to buy from there than to hire from Boots! Is there a difference between those machines and the "maternity" machines?

Lucy, hope the wee one gets on better with the snuzpod. I saw that a lot of places (including their own website) were pre-ordering them but I got mine from naturalbabyshower.co.uk and got it the next day with 10% off and free shipping too! I really recommend that website for anyone looking for nice gifts etc too as the clothes are really good quality x

Not that I know of Belfa, probably just a marketing thing!

I bought a dress for leaving hospital in. I only got it from Tesco but starting to think it's too dressy for the occasion!

I have 3 cotton maxi dresses (just different colours) I got from Primark years ago and was going to wear one of them home but I should try one on as some of my maxi dresses don't look quite right as I discovered last week.

I'm going to buy pram, snuz pod and cot bed sheets this week and wondered, for the pram, are the sheets just the same as moses basket sheets? And should I put a waterproof cover down too on the pram mattress? x

I have been thinking about this too Belfa, as don't really want to risk the mattress in the carry cot to become soiled. I will probably put a fitted moses basket sheet and a muslin down just in case. Although if I could justify the expense I would probably buy a waterproof sheet for it too.

xx

I just used the same type of sheets as the moses basket. Was never a problem!

I got button down nightie from mothercare - was 2 in a pack. Buttons go the whole way down and is short sleeved in case i get too warm. But i do think the kaftan is a good shout Belfa!

Yeah same on the carry cot - i was looking for a mattress protector - assume a moses basket one might be best fit. Anyone seen mattress protectors for cribs?? I am struggling to see that.

Belfa i got the maternity protection sheet things from mothercare. Was 5 in a pack. So will use one in run up to birth and then might need the rest for when I get home.

I totally haven't thought about a coming home outfit for me! Been too busy thinking about baby. Maybe dress and leggings....the most comfy thing i can think of without looking like a slob lol!!xx

I *borrowed* a handful of these before leaving work. Plan to keep one in each car (got to protect the seats!) and then put some under the fitted sheet of our bed to protect the mattress. I didn't really bleed much after having DS (just put it down to the fact that I had a C-section and that they had suctioned it all out before closing me up).

x

Don't know if they are cheaper or not but if anyone can't find them or need some in a hurry most supermarkets sell 'Bed Mats' which are for toilet training toddlers at night which do the same job. I ahve had one under my sheets for the last couple of weeks just in case as got a new mattress only a couple of months ago.

Could also use these under a sheet for the pram to protect it if you can't find a matress protector.

I also have an abundance of puppy pads .

Little green sheep do sheets and protectors for other cribs, not just the snuzpod if that helps anyone though I think you can get better deals.

Harvey Moon would like to thank you for the well wishes, he has picked up a nasty infection which can be fatal if not caught. It has attacked his bowel lining (hence blood) but he has had some injections and has special food so fingers crossed that's him on the mend! x

Awwww wee lamb. Glad it got caught early Belfa! Fingers crossed for fast recovery. Wee Pomeranians are just gorg.

Great idea babyscotcher! Might get that instead of paying over the odds for a mattress protector! Defo a plan for the pram anyways.

Eeek I am getting so excited for my work countdown! And beginning to really wonder what my baby will be like - boy/girl, what colour hair & eyes... Will s/he have my nose or hubby's!?? So much to think about :-)! Can't wait to meet them so soon!

Belfa ours took 6 weeks, they needed it now so luckily I found it. Just tapped into google. My mum was worried they would fall asleep on her so tomorrow they will be all set up..

Glad things were caught early with your dog..

My countdown starts on Friday...Eek... 9 working days left...

Eurghh having really uncomfortable cramps tonight and baby being super active - the kicks and jabs not so pleasant. Baby's head is in my pelvis and is if baby is kicking off the top of my uterus to propel them down to bounce against my cervix.... Ouch. Not nice at all!!! My Braxton hicks have never been sore before but were defo making me wince. Lasted about 10 mins or so. Was getting close to timing it!!

I had some uncomfortable BH earlier. Hope you aren't too uncomfortable with them.

OMG can you believe there's a thread for jan 2016 babies lol...
