Ah Jem that sounds bad. I totally understand you wanting to be next! Gosh! I'll be rooting for you.

As for me, I'm game as soon as we hit 37 weeks - I'll be willing this baby out, I'm sure. I just feel like I've been pregnant for absolutely forever.

GG - I totally agree, evenings are terrible and getting up at night is so hard. I make these stupid noises in the evening trying to shuffle to the edge of the couch and OH just gives my back a big push if he's sitting next to me to help... but yes, getting up in the night for a wee is not so fun anymore.

The last few days I do seem to be getting these cramps whenever I change position too quick or if I'm on my feet for a while or walking too much. Hope it's the body beginning to get ready. 48 days to go till due date!!

I am worried though, it's been pretty cold the last few days - it's still only 10 degrees in Leeds and I'm like - maybe I really do need to get some warmer clothes for baby - our heating's even been triggered to come on the last couple of evenings. And this baby's gonna be half-African and if he's anything like his father he'll be freezing all the time bless him. How many jumpers etc have you guys got in the 0-3? Is it naive of me to have got mainly all just short and long sleeved onesies so far?

Have midwife coming out to see me tomorrow at the house about the homebirth. I'm actually so nervous about it!

Ooh that's exciting Shan! You're so brave - a homebirth was offered to me at my booking appointment but I totally wasn't expecting it - I thought my slightly higher BMI wouldn't allow for that - but I thought for my first baby I'd probably feel more comfortable in hospital just in case - but depending on how things go I'd definitely want to do it for a second baby if its all straightforward this time. But I have been thinking about all the advantages of having a homebirth - man, no postnatal ward to deal with - no toing and froing from the hospital - and you have all your comforts around you. I'd be a bit worried about my neighbours hearing me shrieking though (really hope I'm not going to be screaming my head off in labour)... really looking forward to hearing about your experience!!!

I don't have many jumpers either janey! OH is convinced it's gonna be some sort of foreign summer I swear, he says we don't need anything warmer as it's going to be summer... Not sure what country he's lived in for the last 32 years but it isn't england hahaha

Haha the neighbours, yeah that's worrying me a little lol. I was pretty quiet in general. I don't think I'd have done it for my first. But with it being my second plus my labour was very quick and the midwives seem to think this one will be the same or faster (knowing my luck it'll be 36 hours lol)

As for clothes I've bought so much I was so unsure what to do lol. I have cardigans, long sleeve onesies and vests, short sleeve and sleeveless vests, a jacket, rompers, a light coat, sun hats and baby hat. Second timer here and having a winter baby is so much easier! You just never know how the weather will go here. Last summer up here was rubbish, this year it's roasting still. Argh!! Xx

Totally understandable you want to be next Jem. Your SPD sounds so bad.

That's so exciting about the homebirth Shan. Let's see what your midwife says. Apparently you have to pay to have a homebirth here and it's something outrageous like €1500. Obviously I didn't even consider it at that price!

Hopefully the doctors give baba something PB and you can maybe get home.

The more I read you guys talking about cramps and things the more I think I'm still gonna be here with no baby at the end of July. I think I've maybe had two cramps this trimester and that's it. I'm unsure whether I've just been lucky in this respect or if I'm going to be unlucky and end up overdue!

How are you today PB?

My midwife app went really well, baby is 2/5ths palpable! Yay, the sooner she wants to get those 2/5ths in there the better! BP great, babies HR great. She said baby feels a good size for me, she predicts she'll be the same size as dd. I'd been sick this morning so felt a bit gross but was cheered up big time as she said how well I'm looking for 37 weeks. I'm going to keep the walking up as I'm sure that's what has got baby engaged

How do they check how engaged the baby is? I know in America at some point in the last month they start doing cervical checks.. Do they do that at all in the UK? At midwife appointments?

Or is this one of those things where they dig around near your bladder?

Also Shep, I need to walk more! Walked about a mile today and felt as though my hips were splitting apart, and my bump went rock hard. It must be doing something useful, but by the end I was aching with sciatic pains, I was practically limping. Sometimes I think God, I must look pathetic! I need to walk more to get this baby out!

The midwife feels around your tummy, then she'll ask you to take a big breath in and out while she feels down the very bottom. All from the outside

I came home and said to husband id keep walking as much as possible as it seemed to be helping

Very warm here again. Been down to the beach and park with DD and now she is splashing in the garden. Never knew such little paddling pool could be so much fun!!

Oh yeah just noticed. .. 36 weeks today!

It's been fun at the hospital. Saw baby's chubby little cheeks, so bloody cute.
All looking perfect, baby in 74th percentile so big but not a whopper. About 7lb at the moment.

I'm shattered now. Just want to sleep.

GG you've got some will power, I loved having a surprise with dd but I'm sure if I'd been having extra scans I would have caved and found out gender

Just booked my tickets for jurassic park tomorrow, so excited for our last night before baby comes. You can just stay put for 48h baba!

JaneyJan we dont do cervical checks at all here, until labour obviously lol. I hate the way they check it's so uncomfortable they basically put hands in your pelvis to see if they can feel baby :/ xx

Shep great news about baby being 2/5ths, hopefully not much longer. 3/5th for me but I'm not sure, do 2nd time baby's move out and in again? Walking must be doing you wonders, I need to do more but it's so painful. Xx
