You should see the heartbeat on the scan but the wont use a doppler to listen.

I thought first time mums saw the modwife every 4 weeks.? I know my next appointment is ment to be at 28 weeks but seeing her a bit earlier to get my matb1 form as my work need it by 25 weeks.

That does seem like a long wait! This is my first and my appointments are every 4-6 weeks I think. I had midwife yesterday and they listened to heartbeat. My next scan is 24th Feb and next midwife appointment will be just after.

I decided not to buy a Doppler for that reason, I know I would become obsessed with finding it everyday! And would panic if I couldn't hear it or thought it sounded funny or something lol!

My next appointment isn't until 28 weeks. My last one was supposed to be 16 weeks but got mixed up and went at 14 weeks so quite a long time in between. 20 week scan is a week on Friday at 19+1.

I assumed it was normal to wait that long in between but wasn't sure, I know it starts being seeing them a lot of times after that but still thought I'd see them more inbetween. I know I'm going to end up wishing February will fly by so i get to see bubba after again quicker, feel because I'm waiting it'll go so slow!

There's no way I'm buying a doppler. The little productivity I have left would go out the window as I sit and listen to a heartbeat all day

My tiredness did go... momentarily! It has now returned! Although I have a stinkin' cold so that's not helping!

I'm 16 weeks today!.. still feeling very not-pregnant! Lol

Def not yet CNM. I'm 16 week 1 day and sleeping 10 hrs a night, minus the pee break!

Gender scan tonight! So excited, hope baby behaves x

Welcome newbies. I've gone back to feeling nauseous the last few days, very annoying! Had some really weird dreams last night about after I'd given birth. I woke up glad it hadn't really happened!

I think it's from 16 weeks isnt it? You obviously have to pay for a private scan if you want to know early!

I've decided to be patient and save the pennies! Only 29 days to go... not that I'm counting at all !

I have the flu cant even keep water down atm.
I feel lke i'm falling apart coz i also have a urine infection. Dont think pregnancy agrees with me

Aurora, I feel like the same! I have a stinkin' cold and that's seems bad enough so I feel for you! Also keep getting UTI's, they do go very quickly but really annoying!

Yeah you can from 16 weeks if you pay private. Mine was £55, nice to see baby and all is well.

Hope you feel better soon aurora and julybug! I was about 5days with mine and still feeling and little chesty now 2/3 weeks later.

Aww yay oneday! So tempted to get an early one but andy wants to wait (says it's only 5weeks to go! Only!!!)

Went to check out tesco and asdas baby events today, bought my first lot of nappies and a fair few other bits.
Stopped off at babies r us to test out a couple of travel systems and ended up putting a deposit down on one :O! Totally didn't mean to or intend to lol, but fell in love with it and it was a total bargain! Xx

My OH is the same "it's only 4 weeks"... yea, 4 weeks that will feel like a year!!

My OH's parents are going to buy our travel system which is nice so we will get that nearer the time.

What's everyone's opinion on baby monitors? I've been looking at a couple but the reviews on them all are so mixed! I was looking at some that had the room temperature on but then people say they're not accurate! It's stressing me out! do you think it's a necessity at first?

It's going so slowly! :'(

I think my parents hinted at buying ours, told me not to buy one, but I couldn't pass up the deal I got to wait to get in touch with them as they live 50 miles away. I'll tell them and think they'll just give ne the money anyway.

I'm half and half with monitors, a few friends still have theirs in boxes, others used them religiously. I know I'll end up listening to it 24/7 lol. Xx

Angel are movement and sound monitor with sensor mat is brilliant! It monitors baby's movements and breathing and sounds an alarm if they didn't move for 30 seconds. It gave me such peace of mind when mine were newborn, I would never have slept myself without it! Xx
