***** January 2015 Mummy's *****

Just confirming that I can also be added to the front page.

Our beautiful little girl still has no name as we were expecting a boy but she is perfect, arriving wednesday 15th jan at 1055am, weighing a healthy 8lb 9oz after 41+5 weeks of waiting.

Labour started at 7am and was fast like predicted, made it to the birthing centre for 10am just in time to get in to the pool for delivery less than an hour later. my waters never went so she was actually delivered into the pool in her waters which was an awesome bonus. Couldn have done it though without my husband, hypnobirthing or the gas and air!

Good luck to you overdue ladies, trust me I feel your pain. X

Wow that's amazing she was born in her waters! I hope someone got a picture of it? And congratulations! Our boy still doesn't have a name either. We knew he was going to be a boy but were not expecting him to arrive before his due date so have been in a bit of a state of shock. Think we will decide on a name before the end of the day though.

Congrats to all the new January mums, seems like baby's are being born at a ridiculous rate!

I've not been on for a few days, have been really struggling the last few days, crying at hubby every time he gets in from work. Have had horrendous back pain, and the only comfortable place to be is laying on my side on the sofa. However when I saw the midwife this week she told me baby is no longer engaged, and the head is now free. Hearing that he is travelling in the wrong direction pretty much broke me! Since then I have tried to spend as much time as possible back on my birthing ball but it really hurts my upper back, and I end up getting into a right state. Also done some long walks, and whilst I feel ok when I'm out, my back kills later on for it. I've just totally had enoug (I know lots of people feel the same) and feeling very sorry for myself.

Sorry for the miserable post amongst all the happy news, feel like I just need a bloody good slap!
Aw Spallerina, feel your pain. Just wanted to say don't get down about the head not being engaged. I had midwife on the monday and head wasn't engaged and then I had Max on the Wednesday. It can happen so quick.

All the comments in relation to head being engaged, has that been the case for people first or second babies. My baby hasnt engaged at all and it's my first. I know its common on ur second x

What does MW say? Pretty sure its not a problem hun.

The early contractions of labour kind of 'suck them' down so that's when they engage?

Some babies don't engaged until you're in labour. Don't worry about it too much xx

They don't seem bothered, although I haven't seen midwife for a week or so. Baby hasnt moved since then though. Still really high up pressing on my lungs. My concern is that the baby is too high to engage as I have been measuring big all along. Baby has been head down for weeks and weeks but hasn't engaged. I know.some babies don't engage until labour, but I don't know how unusual it is.for them not to all all, especially with it being my first baby. Not seeing midwife until Wednesday

If you're measuring big chances are baby has their feet in your ribs and their head where it should be. I had rib pain until I was in labour my wee boy was so long.
If you're that concerned about it though phone your midwife.
You can also try bouncing on your birth ball to get baby to move down a bit (only way I'm getting relief at the moment.)
Xx

It's very quiet in here...hoping it means some more labours are underway :)

Morning all. I barely slept a wink last night, just couldn't shut off. Now for most of the morning (still lying in bed!) I've been getting some quite strong pains in my back radiating to the tops of my legs and into my bump. I've also been to the loo TMI! several times for a 'clear out'. Trying not to get my hopes up but sooooo hoping things kick off today otherwise its induction tomorrow. Going to get up and go for a walk... Wish me luck!

Sounds promising hun. Do you have a ball? If so get bouncing. Or else head out for a walk.

Also make sure you eat..... I ate hardly ate anything in early labour last time so this time I'm going to try and get some snacks down me.

Best of luck

Hopefully things pick up and it's labour for you Buzz. Would be nice to avoid induction at the last minute :)

Jealous buzz !!!
I'm just laid here back in bed on my left side after a very heavy breakfast!!! (Didn't sleep til 6am but managed 6 hours at least!!)
I just feel low today, no chance this baby is coming before induction on Saturday xxx

You still have almost a week YellowGlass. That is plenty of time.

I think inductions are comparatively rare (and a lot of them are for medical reasons as opposed to late babies)

So hang in there

Fingers crossed this is things kicking off buzz, let us know how things are progressing!

Hi all, right, I've been out (for a walk and to Sainsbury's -glam) and they're still coming. They're more painful than this morning and it was getting hard to walk through them by the end of the outing so I decided to start timing. They are coming reasonably consistently (a few anomalies) between 4 and 5 minutes apart now and last 45 seconds to a minute.I've just had a shower and that seems to have prompted the longest interval yet. Hoping they pick up again in a minute.

Sounds like its all heading in the right direction Buzz. Hopefully tonight is the night.

OK very painful now! Have hooked myself up to the TENS. Not helping so far!
