***** January 2015 Mummy's *****

Ah I wish we had a morrisons here but the nearest one is miles away and I live In a big town!!! They won't deliver either :-(((

Going to get nipple tweaking now!!!

The best thing I came across to induce labour was gin! In small quantities obviously....

TC I share your pain about not having enough stuff to be able to pack some away in hospital bag - I really want to put in my maternity leggings as think they'll be comfy for me to wear home, but I've only one decent pair, so will be a total gamble as to whether they'll even be clean to throw in at the last minute. Wishing I'd not been so stingey on my maternity wear now, but seems pointless spending money on extra stuff at this stage. Also worrying about what I'm actually going to wear to labour in, but knowing me I'll just get too hot and strip off anyway. Hoping to give the pool a go and no bikini top that fits - do people just get in totally starkers?

I've got a sleeveless gym top that still fits that I wore as a tankini top the other week. Survived being in the water well and was comfy so I'll likely take that. I think it was from sainsburys!

Nat - glad to hear you're feeling well, and getting to go out for lunch. Has to be some perks working over Christmas/New Year! :)

spallerina - I was kind of shocked when I watched my first waterbirth video as the lady was starkers but I think that's quite common.

I was hoping to borrow an old t-shirt for modesty off my OH but he is being surprisingly possessive (think he doesn't like the idea that I might poo in the pool!) so I'm going to see if I can find an old one of mine that I could either wear or cut up the side to fit. At worst I guess the people who come in the room have seen it all before, but I might decide not to invite my SIL as a birthing partner! :)

ceecee - good that you're already producing food for baby! :)

I'm thinking now I might just chuck a vest top in my bag and wear that in the water, hadn't considered that I could wear anything other than a bikini top, what an idiot!

I had a vest top on and no bottoms when I first got in the birthing pool with J, but it started to annoy me being all wet and heavy so it soon came off. Was only me, hubby and midwife in the room anyway so it didn't matter and I was so busy concentrating on the contractions, breathing and gas and air for the pain that I was totally past caring at that point!

I used to think id care what I wore. With Freddie I was under general so had a gown etc, but I know that if I went into labour naturally I'd probably strip off completely because clothes would annoy me!!

Spending the night in hospital after my bp was high and trace protein in my pee and swollen ankles :( got a scan though and baby is fine and weighing 6lb 4 xx

Glad all is OK TS, I guess they are worried about pre eclampsia.

My BP was up yesterday and they want to keep an eye on me (I monitor it myself at home but they now want to see me at 38w and 40w whereas really they'd have only seen me once!)

I am prone to higher BP at Dr's / MW etc but I know they need to keep an eye

X

They are a bit as I had it with Tyler at 33 weeks xx
Now I keep getting braxton hicks monkey is keeping them on their toes xx

Glad baby is fine TS, hope everything turns out ok with you and you're not in hospital for too long xx

Hope everything settles overnight and you can get home in the morning TS.

I'm feeling thoroughly grumpy this evening - I am getting very little time when I'm not in pain from my back/hips/bump and it is wearing me down. The thought that at just over 36 weeks I could still have a maximum of just under six weeks to go has me on the verge of a breakdown this evening. Pathetic I know, people are dealing with much worse.

Thanks hun but not looking good I've had 2 very painful ones the last 10 minutes. This could be kicking off quicker than anyone thought. Could be a new year arrival!!

TS - oooh you could be our next Mummy!! If baby is born on 31st December, he/she will always get to go to a party on their birthday!!! :)

spallerina - sorry to hear you've had a crappy day. You never know, baby could turn up next week!! I think the only way to deal with it is one day at a time. Also, do you have a soft place to lie on? I moved to the sofa (instead of bed) a couple of months ago and it really helped (plus the old, pillow between legs thing). I also tuck part of a very soft large cuddly toy underneath my ribs which seems to help relieve the pressure where it would otherwise hurt, too. xx

I'm currently in the bath after some very painful BH/contractions :-/ my poor hubby is terrified this is the real thing but personally I think bubba has moved onto a nerve or something. A lot of the pain is in my right hand side (front and back) and it's had me groaning away.

I've realised I'm totally unprepared and would 100% freak out if she comes naturally- I have no idea what I'm doing!!!

Just waiting on trace again now to see what baba is at in there. Pains still on and off but no show or anything so here's hoping he will be patient xx oh Jolly hope they ease for you too xxx
