***** January 2015 Mummy's *****

Thanks ladies! I was sure it was normal but Google loves to pick out the scare stories!

I've noticed an increase in hiccups recently - last night my tummy was hiccuping for at least half an hour while I futilely tried to get to sleep!

Guess babies are practicing breathing?

Eep, just read my maternity notes and only now realised it says:

Induce if ANY (underlined twice & in capitals) decrease in fetal movements.

Had been feeling slightly grumpy at the last 2 hours of baby party in tummy as I tried to get to sleep but now grateful that all seems to be well with crazy night owl baby!

Hospital appt 3 of 5 in the space of a week & a half tomorrow.

J used to get hiccups all the time, and they always seemed to last the longest at about 1am! This one thankfully doesn't seem to get them as often, and I have only noticed them in the daytime.

I can't stand this full bladder feeling. I may as well just sit on the toilet until I go into labour at this rate as I feel like I constantly need to go. Either that, or put a nappy on and just get on with it hahaha.

Officially full term today, which means I will be able to use the MLU if things did start earlier than due date. Watch me go 14 days overdue now :/

Morning ladies, I hope you are all ok.
I'm 37+2today and its two weeks today until my planned induction on 12th Jan due to gestational diabetes and being over 40. Really don't want to be induced so I will be trying all I can over the next few weeks to get things moving!
Going to start with long walks and a bit of acupressure. Really missing being able to exercise properly and eating no sugar and very little carbs over Christmas was torture so all in all I've been a bit of a grump. My children go back to school on 6th jan so I've just given myself a bit of a pep talk and I'm going to try and be happy mummy and do some nice things with them this week. Full of good intentions when I wake up, but by lunchtime I just want to curl up in my bed!!
Looking forward to some more birth announcements soon. xx

Happy full term day Ceecee.

MW this afternoon, looking forward to hearing bub and seeing if she is still head down.

Full term tomorrow for me. Am in no hurry for baby though (not least as I am at work for 6 more days lol). Hoping to have her after 20th so she is an Aquarius [not that I believe in Horoscopes really!]

Dad will be dropping a few bits from my folks loft at the weekend:
Carrycot part of pram
Crib
Bouncy chair
Buggy board

Once I am on maternity leave we'll put the crib up, although my cat adored it last time and we had trouble keeping her out. Although once James arrived she wouldn't go near him or anything he slept in / sat in

Anyone have plans for NYE?

Now that January due dates are looming this is all starting to feel very real!!! What eviction methods are people going to try? I've asked my friend to do some acupuncture after my due date. Hopefully by then I'll be more organised!!

Morning ladies, good to hear there are other people getting lots of bouts of hiccups (and that same as me not everyone's a fan of them!)

I have had the worst cough for 2 or 3 days now which gets worse at night with heartburn so am completely sleep deprived and miserable. Definitely do not want an early arrival at this point as I feel shocking!

No plans here for NYE of any excitement-we're getting a takeaway from my favourite Malaysian restaurant and watching a DVD! x

No NYE plans here either, have just text a friend who is pregnant (very early on) to see if she wants to come and be sober with me and pass out on the sofa by 10pm!

I'm having a bit of a panic this morning. 36 weeks today, baby had a massive shift around at 3.30am this morning, and I'm convinced he's gone from head down where he has been for weeks to transverse. Got MW on Friday so going to walk loads and sit on my ball until then in the hope he will go back!

Had my 38 week appointment this morning. Got weighed for first time since booking appointment. I've put on 20kg. Was mortified. Everyone has said to me I'm all baby so don't know where the weight gain is. Hoping it goes after baby anyway.
Baby is still back to back. Head not engaged and still at brim.
Got a fright when midwife says at your next appointment we will sweep your membranes if you like. Was thinking to myself I'm not at that stage yet but I will be. Bit of a wake up call! Haha

Not sure all do but can't answer for sure. I need to spend the next 2 weeks on all 4's. Haha. At 30 week a scan my wee one was estimated about 3.5 lb so hopefully won't be huge.

Mrs w that is quite scary isn't it!!! Time has seriously flown!!

Have you got a ball? Best thing is either on all fours with bum in the air, or resting your arms on the ball while your knees are on the floor and leaning forward if that makes sense? These babies are pretty clever and mostly know what they need to do :-)

Oh, and I've put on 14kg. I'm already overweight and could have done with minimal weight gain, but I'll deal with it when bubba's here and I have more energy. The first few weeks are always so hard with a newborn, but I can't wait to be in that stage and not pregnant anymore. That sounds awful but I can't keep up with my 19mnth old and I just want to be able to run around and be all energetic again.

I've already joined weightwatchers online ready for when I feel the time is right to start logging my food (who knows when that will be but it was a step I felt necessary for me personally) and I've been looking at gyms, again for whenever the time is right.

I know I'll miss pregnancy eventually and will probably get broody again at some point, but I just want to enjoy living normally without a giant lump on the front of me!!!

Yeah jolly, have a ball and have been doing all that for the last 2 weeks and baby not shifting. Saw a different midwife today as mine on annual leave and she didn't seem as fussed that baby was back to back. Said still time to turn.
I wasn't overweight before pregnancy. BMI was 23 at booking. Now 31 but I am short, only 5'1 so always bumps up my bmi. Sure once baby comes I won't care 3 stone just seems like so much. Haha.

I have my MFP account all primed and ready to go!

Am aiming for around early March time to start looking at my food intake etc..? Am hoping to be more successful with BF'ing this time and I also know in those first few weeks watching what you eat is just impossible. So I am not going to stress. Just had my Mum tell me she has made a pot of chilli and a pot of curry for us, plus meatballs as well which she is portioning up for our freezer!

Haven't weighed myself lately but booking in BMI was 29  (I had a booking-in BMI of 21 with James, sob!). Last time I checked I'd gained 20lbs.

I think my booking in bmi was something like 36.5!!!! Bloody hell!!! I'm only 5'2 as well and I think that weight was around the 14.5st mark. I'm such a comfort eater and TTC made me go totally overboard (especially after two more early losses) instead of focusing on eating healthily.

I'm seriously desperate to be more successful at bf'ing this time too- managed 6 days with Fred (due to tubes and canular a etc) and my colostrum is looking good already. Everyone always says it's good for post baby weight loss (NOT a reason for me wanting to breast feed) but my sister piled on the pounds as it made her so hungry. So although I'm definitely not in a huge rush to be serious about losing lots of weight I'm definitely going to be watching what I'm eating.

I sound like I care more about weight loss than anything else, I really don't, it's just a big deal for me that I need to get under control ASAP so I'm fit and healthy for my babies :-) x

Any of you ladies who have been here before have a sweep? Is it really sore?

I never had a sweep hun!

They only tend to do it if your cervix is favourable though!

My hospital won't touch you until you go a week over. I already have my appointment at the "prolonged pregnancy clinic" booked for 27th January!

Jolly, I am so sick of being fat. I was fat before BFP and had such an unhealthy relationship with food that I am determined to get myself on a better path as soon as I can. Healthy and happy me will be better for James and baby. Of course I won't push myself before I am ready but I am determined to sort my eating out (I am a comfort eater and a reward eater and I love wine :wall2:)

I only breast fed for a few days but then I moved to expressing and it was God awful. I had all the downsides of FF (sterilising) and I used to have alarms set every 2.5 hours day and night to get on my pumps. James would sleep for 3 hour intervals from very early on and I was dragging myself out of bed at night whilst he was asleep to pump.

I have decided that this time it's BF or FF, not sure I can put myself through expressing again. I did it for 8 weeks and it was horrific.

Hey not been on here much, Brody just keeps me so busy, but love to catch up on how all you ladies are doing. Cruft for all those reaching term, it's a lovely feeling :) even if I did deliver the very next day haha.
I did actually receive a sweep when I turned 37 weeks as they were planning to break my waters the night anyway, it wasn't plesent but it wasn't sore either, just abit uncomfortable. Nothing to worry about.
My breastfeeding is finally coming on, as with Brody being early he struggled to latch and I have been pumping so he could take milk from the bottle too. But he is now latching much better, which they did say would happen as he got nearer his due date.
I put on 2 and a half stone during my pregnancy but did miss the last three weeks so don't know how much ,ore I would have put on, but thankfully a few weeks on I have been really lucky and can wear my pre-pregnancy jeans, even if they are a little tight.
Hope all you ladies are getting on well, and I can't wait to see some birth announcements soon :) and I will try and keep up to date with all your goings on :) xxx
