Hi, I'm 39 weeks today. I have been coming on the forum for ages but it has taken me this long to register. Hopefully it's not too late to join the list, my due date is 2nd January and we would be team yellow.

Thanks

Hi & welcome NayDueAnyDay - not long for you at all, how exciting! New Year's baby perhaps? :)

I guess there are advantages to being a teetotal vegan, I haven't had to give up anything :D.

Hi Tinsel, how interesting, another vegan :-)
I bet you have also been told by many people that you should eat meat during your pregnancy :-P

I have been well throughout, blood/urine tests always very good, and baby measurements also doing great. How about you, how's your pregnancy been?

I don't post often, ladies, but I do follow the forum and it's great to see how we are all evolving. 35 weeks today, yikes!

Happy 35 weeks sorpresa! Strangely I haven't had too many comments about my diet, and whenever I mention it to the doctors/midwives the topic gets dismissed with "people who follow those sort of diets are usually much healthier than the average person so we're not worried!"

Glad to hear you've been healthy throughout :) (Kind of proves their point I guess ;-) )

At the start of the pregnancy my blood tests were perfect, iron dropped a little too much over the last couple of months but I think this was due to 100s of nosebleeds. My OH has been trying to get me to "eat protein with every meal" and take supplements (Vertese tablets for omega oils, and creatine powder for added protein).

Although I am not sure how I'm going to get enough calcium for breast-feeding, my Pregnacare vitamin tablets don't have any in... any thoughts?

~~

Today I had another baby heartbeat monitoring session at the hospital, and all was good - plus I am told he is 4/5 engaged (so the top 1/5th of his head is now in the right place). Considering he was transverse at the start of this week, I am pleased to hear this! xx

That's good news Tinsel re head engagement. At my last appointment (last Friday) my baby's wasn't at all - who knows how it might have changed though! They told me to make my next MW appt for next Fri (2nd) however when I went out to make it they told me they were booked up for that day and that I should ring on the day in case they have a cancellation. That's reassuring, given it's to be my last MW appt before my due date! Yikes!

I'd ring your MW Ronnie sweetie, not to scare monger but any bleeds at this stage need to be reported (and they'll probably want to see you at some point)

NayDueAnyDay, welcome and I've added you to front page.

Am shattered today, yesterday was lovely but full on on (out of the house for 7 hours, saw both sides of the family and had a bloody lovely dinner)

Today I am still in my PJ's - I did put clean ones on earlier ha!

Been feeling the baby much higher up than usual? Hoping it's her legs!!!

Seeing MW on Monday for 36w appointment, it's day before I am full term! I am also back at work boo hiss...

X

Ronnie- was it much of a bleed, or just spotting? It could be your bloody show? I had it just as early labour was startimg but some women have it before. Its caused by the cevix begining to stretch out and break away from the membranes. There is so much going on down there that it could just be an irritated cervix or something too. If it has stopped and wasn't a lot of blood Iwouldn't worry too much but might be best to mention it to someone. Can you give your MW a ring?

TC- I think green veg, beans and nuts are all good sources of calcium. Also there are a lot of other factors that might be on your side things like if you smoke, eat meat, eat too much salt, drink a lot of alcohol etc your body needs more calcium so you might not need as much as some people do. I'm vegetairian, not vegan so calcium isn't a big issue but I usually find if I'm worried about not getting enough of something when I look into it I'm already getting plenty in my diet. I think its usually only an issue if you are vegetarian or vegan and eating a bad/ very limited diet too. I did get a bit anemic both pregnancies but I ate poorly for several months because of severe morning sickness and I don't think that helped.

I'm full term in 1hr!!!!!

Eviction process will officially begin!!!

Had a hectic but wonderful Christmas- now looking forward to a quiet few days with my hubster :-)

ROnnie, personally I'd go and get checked out if I were you xxx

Congrats on being full term Jolly!

Now that Christmas is over it suddenly feels like its practically January. Its so close and I have so much to do!

Although I am not sure how I'm going to get enough calcium for breast-feeding, my Pregnacare vitamin tablets don't have any in... any thoughts?

Soy milk and tofu are part of my daily diet and they provide some calcium, also, I'm sure you know well, all leafy greens, broccoli, etc. But for the past couple years I have been taken a calcium supplement anyway, so my levels seem OK....

Nice that your baby has started to engage, Tinsel :-)

Unbelievably today I managed to sleep almost 11 hours... Felt sooooo goood! :nap::nap:

Wow sorpresa! 11 hrs is definitely impressive!!

I've woken up with such a load of phlegm and sore throat :-( need to shift it quickly!!!

Been getting lots of period type pains, but then I've had them for weeks. Baby wasn't engaged at all at last apt but I know they can engage during labour with 2nd baby so not too worried.

I was going to start the eviction process today but I feel so poo I definitely want her to stay put!! X

Happy fully cooked day Jolly..... and to those that are already full term. Such a lovely milestone.

I won't be starting the eviction process then though - otherwise I could end up in labour at work ha.

Have no idea if this bub will be late or early. I'm thinking early purely as I'm 'banking' on having a few weeks off work before she comes. Last day is 38w so bet I have her at 38w 2d lol

X

Yay Jolly xx can't wait to actually reach that point Monday xx

Wow sorpresa! 11 hrs is definitely impressive!!

Well, that's of course including about 10 visits to the loo, getting up to straighten up cramped leg, and the laborious turning that wakes you up every time... Like many ladies in this group, I've had some pretty rubbish nights' sleep, so that's why it was exceptional!

Hope you get to feel better soon, Jolly!

Thank you for adding me to your group despite my late appearance!

I started getting regular and strong period pains Christmas Day so thought that was it, that is how it started with my first as they began at 8am and then she arrived 8pm that night. Now here I am nearly two days later and nothing, yesterday I had them stronger than Christmas day and pretty much all day but nothing! Admittedly my first did not arrive until 42+1 so she was well overdue but being 39 weeks yesterday I thought being well baked it was not that early to expect to go into labour. It just goes to show how different they are and how clueless I still am at this whole process. I guess I could still be waiting another 3 weeks, only time will tell.

Good luck ladies, lets just make the most of putting our feet up over the holidays. :nap:

Hi ladies, just thought I'd pop over to say hello. My original EDD was 26th December, then it was changed to 23rd but I am still here so might end up being a January mummy instead. Hope all of you have a nice Christmas and enjoying holidays

Hi knopk! We overlaped last time in tri 3 too! Last time I was due to be an april mummy. Due 26th of April but LO wasn't born until 6th March. The April thread had gone super quiet by that time lol!

Hi:) I remember you of course :) Funny that we overlap again, when is your EDD? I think my lady might not want to be a 2014 baby.
