Carnat - glad your GTT is all fine
spallerina - the cake sounds a hoot! :D glad you had a great time

Question for anyone - today I have had a lot of pain between inner thighs at the point where the upper leg joins with the groin area - (so far all hip pain has been on the opposite side, i.e. outside of my thighs and tailbone) - is this SPD or something? or caused by something else? (e.g. baby trying to engage?)

Great news Nat about the GTT!

TC, sounds like it may well be SPD, rest up as much as you can, it not settling might be worth asking for a physio referral?

Just popped a load of baby clothes in the wash so I can start sorting them and putting the bigger stuff away for now. All making it very real!

Ok I'm going to share a pic of the cake.... Apologies to anyone who is easily offended!

Great news Carnat!
And lol spallerina that's hilarious!

Omg spallerina- I've seen cakes like this on the internet- can't believe your friend made it!!! It's hilarious and hideous at the same time :-)))

Anyone else been getting cramps, like period pain? I don't know if it's baby getting comfy in my pelvis, or because they told me at the scan she's back to back at the moment?

We went for a walk in town yesterday (most I've done for weeks!) and I kept getting stinging on my cervix which I can only assume was baby's head? I literally felt like I did when I was 41 weeks pregnant with freddie.

So my question is is this normal for now, and everything was just happening late with my son which is why I never went into labour, or does this all seem early to be happening?

I've know someone that had their baby at 36 weeks so I might text her to see if she felt anything?

Just don't know if I'm worrying about preterm labour/excited about possibility of avoiding c section, or if this is all just how it's supposed to be.

Phew! Sorry for the long message!!!

Nat, hooray for gtt- bloody horrible things!!!

Finally, I've been busy crocheting- I only started a couple of months ago and I love it :-))

Love the cakes ladies, I am such a cake person so I am a little jealous

Not a massive baby shower person (for myself - I've been to some lovely ones that friends / family have had) but cake I can do

Jolly, how good are your hats? They look professional. I am well impressed.

The stingy / ouchy cervix is an on-going thing for me, and as I walk too and from work it's unavoidable.

It's a difficult pain to explain but kind of like an internal 'sting' - what I imagine a water / bladder infection to feel like?

The other pain I was getting seems to have dissipated a bit though so I am now just left with this?

Lol, that cake really is funny and horrifying t the same time! It looks like it would be easy to give birth to that baby though. I seem to remember the head looking twice the size of the foof!

Nat, yeh about the GTT.

My last pregnancy the last couple of months were actually my favourite bit. I was so sick the first half of the pregnancy then on bedrest for problems with the placenta. The last bit I finally got to relax a bit and enyoy being pregnant. I was huge and awkward but didn't feel bad. This time I seem to be struggling.

Those cakes are fab :) xx

Glad GTT was good Nat xx

I love the hats hun So cute xx

I spent Friday night in hospital with reduced movement and put on trace for an hour and again Saturday morning but of course the little monkey woke up when I was on it so they think he was just having a couple of lazy days xx been mad moving since and had my consultant appointment yesterday and got scanned to check placenta and baby and all is well thank god :) and still head down which I'm delighted about so still on for my VBAC :D xxx

Lol at the graphic cake, spallerina! :D Were the friends who got it for you in the medical profession too? :)
Ronnie - that cake's on the cuter side :) there's something about baby's feet that makes me go awww

Jolly - lovely crotchet-work! your baby hats will be the envy of mothers everywhere :)

TS - glad to hear all is well. The nurses told me that those machines tend to wake babies up. Yay for baby being the right way up/down.
Nat - hope you feel better soon!
Bunny - I sympathise on the struggling part! As they say, no two pregnancies are alike.

After being sent home from work yesterday & told to get some rest, I am now working from home.

I was also lucky enough to get my physio appointment moved from 22 Dec to today (after I phoned yesterday) so fingers crossed they have some ways to relieve the pain. Yesterday I felt like I was coming down with flu, I had so much pain around my hip area! Although a night on the sofa seems to have helped.

Sorry you had such a scare with bub's TS, it's reassuring how seriously the MW's do take it?

TC, yay to working from home and hopefully physio does the trick, although it could take a few sessions?

I still have a mammoth 27 working days to get through and it feels like a mountain to climb, although my options are somewhat limited. It's either work (desk job with regular cups of tea) or being at home with a crazy toddler

Just going to take it day by day I think.

Going to start thinking about Christmas now, it's my absolute favourite time of year but I have a feeling at 8 months pregnant I am not going to enjoy it as much this year!

Have a bottle of champers for NYE and I think I will actually treat myself to a glass (or two glasses of Bucks Fizz!). Haven't been up beyond Midnight since before I fell pregnant so I may not even make the New Year

TS-glad things are okay with bubs.

TC-hope the physio helps. I think I am mostly struggling because of anemeia so hoping the iron suppliments will kick in soon and I'll feel a bit better. I have times I feel not bad but others when I try doing something simple like get dressed and I feel dizzy and my heart races. I took my pulse the other day when I wasn't feeling well and it was 120 while resting. MW says its typical for anemia though. I think it's just two pregnancies and a toddler taking it's strain on my body. I shouldn't complain too much though because the first half of this pregnancy wasn't as bad as last time.

Carnat- hope the work doesn't drag too much. I think you girls who work while pregnant are amazing. I know I couldn't do it. OH has done a lot of looking after our toddler too. At the moment he is doing the dishes and looking after her while I lie down.

Scan day, again. Not long to wait now, 2.30. Hopefully everything is still much the same. Fingers crossed.

Sorry to all the girls who are having a tough time just now, I too feel that as it's getting closer it's getting so much harder and more tiring, how do you girls who have young ones manage, I just feel lucky that on my days off I can sit with my feet up, or take a nap when needed :)
Hope everybody has it abit easier soon. Xxx

Sorry girls, I've been a bit quiet recently. Things have been a bit mad here and seem so busy at the mo.

Spallerina, that cake is brilliant. Hideous and hysterical at the same time!
Love the croched hats. I would love to attempt something like that but I don't have the time sadly (Nor do I know how to crochet!).

It's getting to that horrible uncomfortable stage isn't it. This baby feels so low, I swear it feels like she is going to drop out sometimes. The foof headbutts make me feel sick and my inner thighs are so painful at the moment. Think my husband is getting fed up of me moaning (I try not to) but it's easy for him...he's not going through it!!

Do feel slightly nervous as my son came 3 weeks early, so if this one follows suit then I could be due in just over 4 weeks. That just seems insane! Hoping she'll push into January but what will be will be.

Hope all went well Kiwi sweetie

Hope scan goes well kiwi.

Ceecee- wow that's scary to think how close it could be for you! What is your due date? I'm due the 19th, I think we might be the same. Its suddenly feeling real close for me too. We are planning a home birth which the MW is okay with from 36 weeks. Was saying to OH yesterday, that's only 4 weeks away! I went 10 days over last time though so don't intend to hold my breath. If our little guy decides to come early it will catch me out though. I haven't stated on my hospital bag, washing baby clothes etc yet.

Good luck kiwi!

ceecee - that's quite exciting if there's only a few more weeks to go! I guess on the positive side, if baby is early, you will be out of the discomfort zone quicker!

Physio confirmed I have PPGP/SPD and has given me a support belt + some exercises + another appointment in a couple of weeks. If I had waited til my initial appointment in 4 weeks time then she would have been on holiday, so I'd have ended up seeing nobody! Am double glad I chased to get today. After travel to hospital, my hip is killing me now.

OH isn't keen on me getting a gym ball as the gym (which has a couple of balls) is "only 20 metres away" from our flat. At the moment that seems like miles!
