***** January 2015 Mummy's *****

It's not a private rent, it's HA as we qualify for an affordable housing scheme (private rent for a 2 bedroom and childcare for 2 kids is £3,600 per month without anything else on top - we live in a very expensive part of town!!)

So it's a rolling 6 year lease and then they assess your income - basically unless we ever win the lottery or one of us starts earning double what we do now we'll keep our tenancy indefinitely.

Downside is that property is in a terrible condition and as it's a top floor place it had to be carpeted. We have to pay for all that though.

We have decided that moving day will have to be the day after James's and OH's Birthday - 15th November - so 3 weeks today. Not ideal BUT as we're currently juggling work / childcare and some serious redecoration in the new place we cannot do it any sooner.

I feel a bit guilty as James' Birthday is going to be overshadowed by moving BUT its the only time we can feasibly do it. James won't remember?

Got my Mum's 60th next weekend so I think packing will start the weekend after. Also need to order a new cooker and fridge, book removal van and book a company to come and get our bloody giant sofa out of current place and into new place.

Carpets not as expensive as I thought, still a lot but I was happily surprised and they go down on 13th November.

I am using all my annual leave to have a week off in November but thankfully new place is much closer to work as well.

Ahh ok I understand- £3600 is a disgusting amount of money?!!! I know you're in an expensive area but I had no idea it was that much. I suppose redoing it is a lot of time and money, but you're doing it how you want it :-))) don't worry about moving the day after James' bday, I'm sure he won't remember :-) x

The only reason I will be finishing so early is because my son came 3 weeks early with no warning signs beforehand. Don't really want to work too late as I know it will stress me out wondering if every minor twinge is going to end up being labour! My due date was given as 16th Jan at my scan so 3 weeks before that is 26th December. 19th seems a good date to finish!

Eeek, yay for moving dates. Boo for expensive carpets though Nat! We're still waiting to find out if we can move and it's likely to be a sudden thing with short notice. Hoping it will be this side of Christmas so we're not doing it with a newborn.

Well hello tri 3 :) one of the January stragglers officially coming through :)

Welcome Meg sweetie.

Its lovely to officially be in the last trimester isn't it.

Bloody clocks.... grrrrrr. Ive been awake since 5am. James is still fast asleep of course.

PF doesn't seem to have been affected by the clock change lol. I am posting at 6.15. Wish it was an hour later.

X

Haha!! I was awake at 5 on the dot, hubby was hungover next to me and Freddie slept until 5.45 (6.45) which I'm pleased with considering we didn't do anything to account for them going back- bump's a bit sore today though and my c section scar is really stinging so it must be really stretching now- anyone else experience this? X

My scar doesn't sting it's just very numb and feels weird when I touch it lol

I've been having the horrible "stingy" cervix headbutts, horrible!

I've never had a bladder infection *touch wood* but this is kind of what I imagine it feels like? Internal stinging!!!

X

Yeah I hate the stingy headbutts!!!

Another question, what is everyone doing for Xmas? Is anyone else hosting?

I've always had to have two Xmas days, one with mum and one with dad, and this year we thought everyone was going to be all together for the first time but my dad just isn't comfortable with that. So my sister has said she will do both Xmas day and Boxing Day, which leaves me a little stuck- if I host Boxing Day (like I have suggested) it's hard work!! But then I don't really want to be away from my own house for two days and would rather have my own comforts around me, plus it's two days that Freddie can't play with his new toys (not a deal breaker of course).

Do you think I've done the right thing offering to do Boxing Day (Xmas day no.2 with dad)? Or have I set myself up for an insane amount of work? We're not having turkey so is there anything I could do to make it much easier without costing a bomb? There will be 7 adults and 2 babies x

God Jolly I always go to my folks, I have never done a Crimbo dinner (never will as long as I can get away with it)

We usually have dinner at my folks, then head to OH's folks for drinks / turkey sarnies etc.

We currently live 3 mins from my folks and even closer to OH's parents so no driving or hassle. New place is still close but it's about a 20 minute walk away.

I wouldn't want to stay away for 2 nights either when so heavily preggers, is the plan to be away for the whole of Christmas day / night and then back to yours?

My personal cheat is M&S ready to roast joints, you can get them for around £7 (you may need 2) and they come in the tin you roast them in? I am sure they even do turkey crowns?

Maybe get everyone involved in the prep?

Sorry as I say I never host Crimbo, we have 13 adults and 7 kids though they wouldn't even fit in the new place, so we go to the parents

I am hosting Xmas day for 8 adults and 4 children. I just felt it was too near my due date to risk travelling to my family who live over two hours away. Everyone has offered to bring something to help keep our costs down and I will get too much help in the kitchen ( I find it easier to do my own thing in the kitchen!)
It will be a busy couple of days but I fully intend to rest lots and will have early nights and leave the drinkers to it during the evening! x

Well, Jolly & Lotty, hats off to you! My parents may be popping over for a meal around Boxing Day but I will let my OH do the cooking (they'll probably get some sort of curry!) I can't imagine having so many people around - I don't think it's unreasonable to see if people are willing to chip in to help (like Lotty's lot!)

This Christmas will be the first one not spent at my parents' in a long while - but they are glad not to be hosting (my brother will be looking after them) and there's no way I'd travel to rural-ish Suffolk at 37 weeks pregnant.

Still haven't made a decision yet but think I will invite folk here and get them to help out.

I woke up through the night and felt like I was drunk and the room was spinning so bad. Only way it stopped is lying on left side. Mostly goes away when I stand up. Any ideas ladies?

Thinking that myself but no signs and it goes away periodically. Will see if it continues. Strange that it goes when I stand up.

Mrs w were you lying on your right side and back? If so you may well have been lying on a major blood vessel which can make you feel dizzy- I had it around this time with Freddie from sleeping on my back. I believe it's why they recommend sleeping on your left side and might explain why it went away when you lay on your left?

Re Xmas- Nat I'm not doing turkey!!! No way!! I'm happy to cook but nt doing a roast- I'll find something a bit easier, but m&s is definitely a good idea :-))) my family all live in the same postcode so it's a case of just going round in the day then back at ours for bed, then back to theirs (or hopefully not!) the day after- I just think it will be too much hassle x

I can lie on my left and only move my head and the room spins. Very odd.

Hi ladies! We will be at my parents Xmas day we do every year and FIL Boxing Day, they usually just do a buffet style thing Boxing Day like cold meats etc that might work for you jolly81?

Woke up this morning with horrible ache in my left leg near right at the top like almost my hip? Feels like its out of place abit ifykwim ? Any ideas !?

This is the first year ever I won't be going home at some point over Xmas period it makes me a bit sad but like others of you don't fancy travelling around 36/37 weeks all the way to London!

We're having lunch at DHs mum and step dads and probably have to pop up to his dad and step mums at some point. It's first Xmas I'd really just like to have Xmas the two of us but that would mean cooking and I can't be bothered with that lol! x

Mrs W, sounds like BPPV to me - have a read of this http://www.patient.co.uk/health/benign-paroxysmal-positional-vertigo-leaflet and see if it fits. There are exercises you can do at home called Brandt-Daroff exercises, if not improving see your GP, there is a manoeuvre called the Epley manoeuvre which usually fixes it (not all GPs do this, I do but seem to be the only one at my practice who does!), if they can't they should be able to refer you to someone who can.

I finally reach tri 3 tomorrow. Not posted for a while despite checking in most days, as for some reason have felt odd posting here and it got so quiet over on tri 2! All going well, although this last few days the exhaustion seems to be back with a vengeance, may have to start coming home from work at lunchtime for a nap again!
