The waiting around is a killer isnt it. I agree too about waiting for the sweep with your first to see if you go naturally first. That might be because I'm a bit bit squeamish about sweeps though as I hate being examined internally and it made me wince when the midwife had to check to see how dilated I was (5cm when she did it thank god, so she only had to do it once!).

Hopefully these babies won't keep you waiting around much longer xx

Yes, my due date based on lmp was 22nd or 23rd. It got moved to the 19th from my scan. I'm hoping something will happen this weekend. I feel completely normal though. I don't even think the baby has engaged fully yet. This I was on 1.5cm dilated when midwife checked so I think I have a while to wait. Due to have another sweep tomorrow or.sunday. although, I would rather just go in to labour naturally, I don't want to be induced.

Thanks ceecee, A sweep is also a fear of the unknown for me currently too so desperate to avoid! Just want some sign something is moving. Hope you're getting on ok?

Princess I'm not fully engaged either. Mw wrote on my notes 3/5 palpable which I'm assuming is 2/5 engaged. Off for a walk with oh when he gets home for as long as I can manage with pgp! Have you got a date for induction?

Like princesp, I feel completely normal. Not a twinge or an inkling that anything may be happening. I started to get bit of plug last Sunday, and nothing since then, till today.

Oh well, I think I also will end up being a Feb mummy.... But that's OK, better late and safe

Yeah i am the same, 3/5 palpable.

The date for my induction is the 1st of February. I always want to go for a walk but it's so cold! I may go shopping today, so I can have a good walk around the shops without getting too cold. I have nothing to buy though! I am bored more than anything else! Spend all day sitting around watching daytime tv. All housework done, baby stuff sorted. I even started organising photos yestersay just for something to do.

Yes, so many boys. Makes me think my team yellow baby is going to be a girl.i know that in reality it makes no difference. The girls have to come at some point though! Hope everyone is coping well with their babies. Still no signs for me. X

Have given in and offered baby a few oz of formula as no wet nappy since this morning. Had mw here earlier and she said baby was taking my boob well but she can't be getting enough if no pee since this morning?

Nat- if it helps at all my experience has been that wet nappies really slow down around the 3rd and 4th day as colostrum only comes in small amounts even when they are feeding well but then my milk came in propperly there were plenty of good wet nappies again. Last time I was stressed about it but I was kind of waiting for it this time. Letting the baby spend a long time comfort sucking seemed to really help supply for me. Don't feel bad about giving formula if you feel its the right thing though.

Well I had a 'date' with my lovely mw this afternoon! Baby is 3/5ths engaged, she did a sweep and said my cervix is thinning nicely. She was able to put one finger in and stretch to two cms. There was also a decent bloody show.
Only thing that's got me worried though is my fundal height has gone from 39cm last week and has gone down to 36cm today. Mw has requested an urgent scan to check fluid levels in case my hind waters are leaking. Hopefully baby will arrive safe and well before the scan!!

When do u this you'll have the scan meg? Could I be that as the baby has engaged, ur bump has gone smaller?

U apart from that it sounds as if ur body is preparing well. I was on 1.5cm dilated after sweep at term +1.

I've no idea but because mw marked as urgent it's gone to the hospital in the city. She said to phone her on Monday if I hadn't heard anything.
I asked that princess but baby was already 2/5ths engaged the last few weeks so not much more today. She said there is sometimes a drop but not that much in the space of a week.

Hope everything is okay. I had a dramatic drop in fundal height tward the end of my first pregnancy but that did have to do with baby engaging I think.

Hi,

So much has happened since I was laston here.

Congrats to all the mum's whose babies have arrived.

I had my elective c section on Tues 20th and baby Samuel was born at 9.42 weighing a healthy 8lb 3oz.

I've not had a scan appointment yet but hoping I won't need it. I think the mw is just being cautious, or trying to tell myself that!
Since my sweep I've had a tiny bit of plug loss yesterday and some spotting. Really quite crampy though and overnight I was up a million times to pee as I just couldn't tolerate my bladder filling up. This morning I had a bit more spotting and a big bloody show after a bowel movement. I'm back in bed having had some paracetamol for the cramps. Fingers crossed things are moving on a bit!! (sorry for the details
And it's my due date today!!
