***Jan & Feb Mummy and Baby***

Oh Nat I feel your pain, sleep deprivation is awful! I hope you managed to get some help with James to ease the pressure on you a bit?

We have good and bad days, today hasn't been too bad but im exhausted after being up more than usual last night.

Jessica is 8 weeks old today. I just cant believe how quickly time passes, its such a cliche but true!

Got first set of injections on monday and im totally dreading jt :(

Omg im sure I read somewhere that it can be normal for bf babies to only poo once a week?! Not true in jessicas case though. Shes poops after most feeds and is ebf xx

Thanks, I've read that even up to 13 days is ok but it's still worrying.

I need to look into jabs, also dreading it!

I can't believe how time flies. I also can't believe that with DD2 at this point I was back hi work! I really want to enjoy my children now, which is why we moved away...to be more family orientated.

Currently sat expressing as when Gabriella has bottle before bed she sleeps a but longer. Not that she's bad anyway. It's so time consuming, my best time to get milk is about 10 am but I was feeding today.

I've been looking into baby groups as I want to start meeting people. Think she's too young tho. Are you thinking of going to any?

OMG I go to a couple of groups...there's a first time mums group on a Monday and then the local library does a half hour nursery rhyme session on a Tuesday...Wednesday we're starting baby massage on 22nd, Thursday we do a baby sensory class and Friday we're starting swimming lessons in May. I like doing something every day to get me out of the house and find Caleb needs more entertaining these days as well! I've been going to baby sensory since he was 7 or 8 weeks old and he was one of the youngest but I still think he gets something out of it...or I like to think so anyway lol!

Caleb has also gone from sleeping 5-7 hours in one stint to only managing 2-3...these babies must be colluding behind our backs!!! x

I have just recently started going to a few groups. We have baby massage on tuesday, bfing group wednesday, post natal group thursday and starting tiny talk class on friday. I wanted to do baby sensory but no spaces atm so on a waiting list for that x

Night 3 of no sleep....

I don't think I've had 3 sleepless nights with James in almost two and half years? I know you shouldn't compare but Bee is a very different (and difficult in comparison) baby.

I managed maybe an hour and a half but since 1am we've been up. We've been in bed (together), Bee in crib, Bee in chair and me on sofa, we've paced floors, we've tried Ewan and tv and music, we've tried lights on and complete darkness...baby is fed and changed. We're currently on a duvet on the living room floor.

James will be up in a few hours.... hopefully not before 7.

The Geneva Convention classes sleep deprivation as torture right?????

We haven't started any groups as most of the baby groups aren't suitable for toddlers. I can't take James to baby massage for example.

We have lots of parks and a few nature reserves nearby and I go to a 1oclock club locally. I also have a few friends / relatives with children on similar ages so I meet up with them.

X

Nat could your OH maybe sit up be Bee so that you can get a bit of sleep? Is she sleeping much through the day?

I cant offer much more advice but I feel for you. You sound like you are doing an amazing job, I would be cracking up by now xx

You're taking me back to my early days with my son... and a few of the later ones too Nat. I used to be up for hours and hours with the child who refused to settle. Not sure what to suggest (since you've tried everything!) except to just try and get some sleep when you can, if that means OH having to do a couple of hours at night or have a family member look after the kids for a little bit during the day. You need your sleep - even if Bee doesn't

Like Taboo I also try to do something with the baby every day. So I go to 2 different mums groups, breastfeeding support, musical monkeys... For now at 10 weeks the baby is too small to really get much out of it, but at least it gets him used to being out, noise, activity, other babies... And keeps mum half sane :-/

Having a really tough couple days. Rio is waking up very often to feed during the night, I can't get him to burp properly after feeds, then as soon as he lies down he complains of gas. And today he's puked most of what he's been fed. I'm feeling quite desperate today :-(

Ah, cute pic!

My girls liked the bumbo. Think I'll get one for Gabriella next I'm in uk.

Nat-is anyone around to help with James so yiu can get some sleep today?

xx

Aw so cute xx I have one here from Tyler might just have to pull it out xx really hope you get some very well deserved sleep hun xxx

Can't wait for Wednesday get to see what Oisín weighs now he hasn't been weighed since 6 week check xx

Hi all

For some reason I haven't been on here for a couple of weeks so lovely to catch up with everyone!

Think we are defo feeling the effects of the lastest leap-Rafferty has been waing every 2 hours again at night to feed-tried the dummy but he is hungry.Looked on the Wonder Weeks app and he has been doing a few of the signs that come with this leap.
He is being weighed on Weds for the first time in 4 weeks so am very curious as to what he is now! We also have 2nd lot of injections on Thursday which also happens to be my Birthday!!

We are just starting to wear a few 3-6 month clothes now too-they are growing too fast!!

Thankfully managed a few hours sleep last night. Woke up several times but she went back down for 2-3 hours at a time.

She is still very grumpy... my trick is to stick her in front of the washing machine when she is tired and she is out for the count.

I've just packed up all her 0-3m stuff. She still fits into a lot of it but my pet hate is using a range of sizes. I like to just "go up a size" and bag up all the smaller stuff to be stored at my folks (I will pass it on when I have any friends / family who need girl stuff!!!)

So sob, sob my baby is in 3-6m stuff now.

X

That baby gro is too cute Nat! We call DD2 Betty and had bee bedding and a few clothes. They're adorable! She was a bumble bee Halloween too. I hope she doesn't hate me too much when she'd older, lol!
Glad you got some sleep too.

Had a good day so far...got the girls to school, on time, did some work then lunch and chill at the beach. Second school run now then drop girls to beach with their dad while I take Gabriella to dr.

I think there'll be a glass of wine at the end of it all!

Glad you got a bit of sleep Nat and bee looks super cute even if she is a little tinker!

Quick question ladies, Jessica had her first lot of injections this morning and has pretty much slept constantly since. Its very unusual for her to sleep through the day. Shes had a couple of quick feeds and wet nappies but no awake time really. Is this normal? Xx

You should have got a leaflet with injections hun? If not you can google but I'm pretty sure it can make them sleepy.

X

Hiya, sorry I don't post much on here ladies but I do read all the posts. Just want to reassure mrsjohnson re:injections. When Nate hade his first set he was grumpy and then slept most of the following day so I think its probably normal. I wasn't given a leaflet or anything. I had to ask if there was anything to look out for! Second set this week :(

Thanks buzz thats good to know. Shes actually been more awake since I posted this so im feeling a bit happier.

I got a leaflet Nat but just said what to do if they got a temp. Didn't mention sleepiness.

Hope your second set go ok Buzz! Xx

Rafferty slept loads for the 2 days following his first lot of injections so all normal Mrsjohnson!
