***Jan & Feb Mummy and Baby***

Hey Ladies,

Finding it quite difficult to get on here often, LOs keeps me busy!

Serenity's still not up to birth weight yet, she's 2.5 weeks old now and still has a way to go.
Breastfeeding is going well but the night feeds are hard!
I totally get you ladies who have said about your OHs!! Argh, I shouted at mine last night for snoring REALLY loud at just gone 3am. I mean DUDE come on! He gets the dirty nappies at night though and my girl can projectile poo!!!

What time are you ladies going to bed? Last night I went to bed at 6:20!! 8pm is about the latest though. Im so rock'n'roll...

Baby c, Charlie lost just short of 14% of his birth weight in the first 5 days and was admitted into the hospital for 36 hours and gained some so he was only 8% of his birth weight. But i had to completely stop breast feeding and go on formula and express alot. But it was worth it as now im feeding both and hes doing really well with his weight now!

Charlie had his tongue tie cut today! I can see the change already, he keeps sticking his tongue out and licking round his mouth. Its just too cute, and he can finally latch on proper so finally can move on to fully breast feeding over time!
I BF earlier and he then only had just a little over 3oz of his 4oz bottle when normally he would BF and still finish the bottle.

And as for the OH... Weve argued everyday for the last week! Mostly me having a go at him about not doing anything, he does little bits and he does work but i just keep going on at him lol. Hopefully these hormones and tiredness will calm down soon xx

Flick I don't go to bed until about 11.30/12 midnight ish! Maybe I should give going early a try.
Maisie is really good, but I'm still tired-I feel if I go bed at this time it's not such a longgggg night!

My c section wound is not great, I went to the nurse on Friday who advise my wound had opened at one side and a stitch is hanging out!! She bathed and dressed it and taught us how to do this each day until Tuesday! Touch wood it's not infected, but I'm going back on Tuesday, as it may have to be packed daily and the stitch cut!!!!!!!!!
Anyone else's wound playing up?
The nurse told me it was from doing too much, so c section girls be careful lol xx

Having a bad day already and it's only 7.30!

Bee has a proper cold now (she has been snifffly on and off since birth) so she is grouchy and mummy is of course worried. I'm taking James to the GP in a bit so I'll mention it and see if they want me to bring her in.

I've had a migraine already today - had it as soon as I opened my eyes [I get occular migraines so I get the aura and if I take pain relief I can avoid the worst of the headache]. My migraine triggers are hormones and tiredness.... I had one on Sat too! So I probably need to see GP as well.

Am starting my health kick today so I expect I'll be a grumpy cow for a few days while I get all the sugar out of my system. I've been living on biscuits!

X

Nat sorry to hear wee one has a cold.
Have to say I'm jealous of you ladies that babies will sleep on them. Max has been funny for a couple of weeks and when I try to put him anywhere near my chest he screams and fights to get away. So hard not to take it personally. I want so much to comfort him and he fights me. Anyone else experienced this?
Also reading about how much formula all your babies are taking. Max is still only taking 3-5oz every 3-4 hours. Goes about 6 hours when I first put him to bed. He is 9 weeks on wednesday. Should he be taking more? He is gaining weight.

What a night!!
Charlies currently on his 4th feed of the day. Hes asking for feeds every 3 hours! I think its cause his tongue tie is sorted. But god help my boobs in a few days when im fully breasts feeding!

Anyone else had a tongue tie sorted and had this happen?

Hi girls,

Wow, what a difference a good night sleep makes! Gabriella was a little angel, she was in with me for most of it but if that's all it takes, I'm up for it! I remember this from DD1 now. We majority co slept for first few weeks, it's funny tho, as she'll sleep well in cot if I'm not in room. The min I'm there she wants cuddles!

Managed to get up and out in time to show her off at school too. Girls were sooo chuffed!

Nat-sorry to hear you're having a rough one already xx

Off to try to register again now...fingers crossed!

Had a good night last night, Alfie is feeding and settling really well at night. We are feeding him 4oz which he is finishing most of the time and not being sick after. I was worried I was over-feeding or not feeding enough! We brought some dr browns bottles to help with his wind and he's a different baby now! So much happier.

He seems a bit mucousy on his chest, he's happy enough but will mention to the dr tomorrow.

At 12 days old, he has pretty much outgrown his up to 1 month sleep suits and is now in 0-3. He has such long legs!

We have our tongue tie appointment tomorrow so I'll be glad to get the ball rolling.

My OH returned to work today so it's our 1st day on our own. We are currently tucked up in the sofa having a snuggle. I love being a mummy :)

Hey nicipoo, I had a tongue tie get sorted and baby was initially feeding every 2 or so hours after that (every hour to 1.5 hours before). I've been delighted that it's dropped down to every 3 hours, and in this past week there's been a few 4 hour intervals which is awesome.

Toni - funny how it's so unpredictable when baby grows out of their first clothes - 12 days seems pretty quick! We didn't get many newborn clothes at first for that reason but only now at 2 months am I starting to put mine into 0-3 months.

Carnat - hope you feel better soon, being ill must be horrendous right now xxx

Health visitor coming today, am wondering if we will be anywhere near 9 lbs weight at 8 w 2 d. Fingers crossed! :-)

Tomas is still feeding every 1 1/2hrs in the day and about every 3hrs at night. At first I thought it was just him trying to keep up his big birth weight but I am actually wondering if he has mild toungue tie? He makes a lot of clicking noises and swollows a lot of air while feeding. He starts by latching on really well but keeps slipping. It could be that he doesnt feed very efficently so is getting hungry quicker. He manages to feed not too badly so obviously it isnt severe. Seeing our MW tommorrow so going to ask her about it.

Aria has been feeding well again, pretty much every two hours which is exhausting but worth it to know she is doing well. After the 13% weight loss yesterday they came to weigh her today and she has put on 2oz in 24 hours, so proud of her! We have had to add two bottles of formula into her feeds, they are so easy compared to breast it makes me tempted to switch for formula but I will persist.

We've got to take her to the Doctors today on the advice of our support worker as her eye is gunky, sticking together, red and slightly swollen. This will be the first time any of us has left the house since she was born Thursday, I'm nervous but excited!

Austin's eye was like that, he had a blocked treat duct. I massaged it daily and bathed with cooled boiled water and cotton wool. Also out breast milk in it. Cleared up in 2 weeks, the morning crustiness sealing his eye shut was awful. Xx

Glad to hear a few of you had a good night last night. Ours wasnt too bad, although we had a mammoth feeding session from 6 - midnight yesterday and my poor nipples were paying the price this morning.

Hope you are feeling better soon nat. I dont suffer with migranes very often but i know they are awful so hope it doesn't last too long.

Feeling much more positive today. Been out to get measured properly for nursing bras and ive been wearing totally the wrong size!! No the wonder i was all squashed up and uncomfortable. My new bras feel better already and also bought a feeding cushion to see if it helps at all.

Did anyone struggle with clothes sizes once baby had outgrown newborn? Jessica is still fitting into her newborn stuff atm but i dont think it will be too long before she outgrows them however 0-3 months look massive on her!

Xx

Mrsjohnson we're struggling with clothes...Caleb grew out of newborn almost immediately as his legs are so long but up to 1 month were massive everywhere but his legs...now we're having the same issue with up to 1 month and 0-3 months...it's a nightmare! X

Glad lots of you ladies had good nights last night. Ours was ok, but not great. Typical as today was hubby's first day back at work.

Tinselcat- hope your weigh in went ok

Baby C - I promise the breast feeding will get easier... We're two weeks in now and boobs are generally feeling ok, and Finley is lots better at latching without as much guidance from me.

We've got a hunky eye here too- though hopefully it's starting to clear up now

No struggle with clothes here as my chunk went straight into 0-3 months pretty much like his brother did!

Feeling proud if my first day on my own with them both. Managed to get to Harry's little gymnastics lesson this morning for 9.15, and we've managed to do his swimming lesson this afternoon. Finley was a star and slept right through swimming. The girls there couldn't believe I was back so quick, but I just thought best to throw myself back into everything!

Shattered now though !!

Oh and I can't remember who, but I'm sure someone asked about storing breast milk. Here's the info I was given by the breastfeeding coordinator at hospital

Thanks beckyboo & well done on getting out and about with your children so quickly - I'm not surprised they were impressed :-)

Baby is now 8 lbs 14 at 8weeks 2days, at a week old he was just 5lb 4 having lost over 12 percent of birth weight, so despite being in the bottom 1 percentile, he is now doing really well :-)

This sounds painful, hope you are ok! xx

Thanks for the link Becky.

We had another unsuccessful attempt at registering today...the system here is sooo annoying!
Decided to get marriage certificate translated before we try again as the way our luck is going they'll reject it if we don't!

Had a really busy day today, hope I've not over done it!

Took Gabriella to the school-everyone fell in love with her!

x

When we tried to register Tomas the computers were down, lol.
