Congratulations Selina! He is adorable! ^-^

Happy DDay Becky and Starlight! :D We need more action this week!

I wonder if we'll have any babies hold on til valentine's day?

So glad Blondy is home now :) Staying in hospital with a newborn is horrible.

Congratulations Selina! He's beautiful!!!

Happy due date Starlight & Becky!

Hurry up babiessssss. Xx

Congratulations selina! I was thinking about you this morning and was wondering whether baby had arrived. He's beautiful :) x

Happy due date beckyboo and starlight!

Still no action here I'm afraid apart from achy hips :( 5 days overdue, I must be quite comfortable in there!

Just come back from a super successful shopping trip.

Bought DD1 the perfect bday presents and got them wrapped, bought baby monitor, an adorable babygro, a Terry's choc orange bar and a 5 pack of creme eggs, yum yum!

xx

Sucks Toni, doesn't it? :(

Yeah it does :(

But then I'm also quite happy for him to stay put because I'm so anxious about labour and what to expect! I've had a really good pregnancy so I've got nothing to worry about really!

I was so hormonal yesterday, today I feel quite headachy and snotty so it probably getting a cold just to add to it

How are you feeling flick, any signs yet?

Congratulations Selina, what a gorgeous little man!

Happy due date starlight & Becky.

Did everyone have a good weekend? I didn't do much but it was fun, went out for a meal yesterday with my sister & her family, my niece told me I'm so big I couldn't sit on the chair properly haha!

It's called 'labour' for a reason ;) But it's the beginning of something wonderful :)

I would really like baby out now. By any means, just out. I've been indoors since my due date in my PJs waiting and im bored.
I had niggly pains yesterday and was hoping that was 'it' but when I got into bed at 8 and got comfy, all pains went away :( my body was clearly just uncomfortable on the sofa downstairs. I hate the waiting :(

Awww flick and Toni b, I feel for you both being overdue.....I remember it well and have a feeling I will be in the same boat very soon lol x

Ah, me too. With DD2 I was so late. Was drinking copious amounts of raspberry leaf tea, baths with all sorts of oils in, ridiculously hot curries, pineapple, sex, walking, bouncing, pleading with her. Obviously far too cosy inside mummy!

I remember going to a new client meeting still preg and them asking me when I was due...yiu should have seen their fad when I said 9 days ago!!! They had just got new carpets in their office, lol.

xx

I have a sweep tomorrow hopefully so im pinning all my hopes that will start things off lol!!

9 days.... That makes me want to cry :(

I've not actually done anything to try and get baby out because I know none of it works. Baby will only come when ready. I am getting desperate now. As the hours pass I get more and more disheartened :(

Can i ask, what are the oils you put in your bath to bring on labour?

This morning i have been up and cleaned the house, and might go for a small walk in a while! i walked round a shopping centre on Saturday, then yesterday went to a good half hour (alot up hill) walk and nothing lol! I know its not my due date until the 14th but its so long!!!!!!!
(Flick i feel for you!!!)

Can i ask a probably silly question - So a sweep, i have one booked for next Tuesday. So will the midwife see if cervix ready/thinning? If she finds its not thinning i take it then it is not worth having the sweep? Or is it?

As i am thinking if my cervix isnt ready what is the point of having it, as reading online it sounds painful and wont work!
But you guys may advise better xx

If your cervix is still closed they can't do a sweep, as they basically run their fingers round your membrane. I didn't find it sore, more uncomfortable.
That having been said, they'll only work if you're ready to go into labour. I had a sweep at 40 weeks, and another at 41 and and Alexander was still 12 days late. Xxx

Ive heard such mixed reports about a sweep working.

Personally my midwife done a sweep when I was 40+8, I was 2cm dilated and it didn't hurt one bit, my waters broke the next day and contractions started.

I've known 2 people that were told after a sweep they were no where near ready to give birth and that their cervix was closed and thick yet they went into labour after a couple of hours??

God I hope I get a sweep tomorrow lol x

I will probably be declined a sweep and advised to just wait :( *sigh*

Why is it the pains are just poo or fart pains!!!??

Whens your appointment Flick?

I read your (valid) reasons for not wanting one, but why do you think they will decline you?

I thought they would do anything to avoid induction and also wont you be examined in labour?? So arnt the risks are still there? x

I shouldn't laugh but I totally understand where you're coming from!

I woke up at 2.30 the other night thinking I needed to do a poo, despite having a mass clear out just before bed (sorry, tmi!) only ended up having a wee but the noises that came out of my bottom were enough to drown out the sound of a jumbo jet :oooo:
