Can i ask, what are the oils you put in your bath to bring on labour?

This morning i have been up and cleaned the house, and might go for a small walk in a while! i walked round a shopping centre on Saturday, then yesterday went to a good half hour (alot up hill) walk and nothing lol! I know its not my due date until the 14th but its so long!!!!!!!
(Flick i feel for you!!!)

Can i ask a probably silly question - So a sweep, i have one booked for next Tuesday. So will the midwife see if cervix ready/thinning? If she finds its not thinning i take it then it is not worth having the sweep? Or is it?

As i am thinking if my cervix isnt ready what is the point of having it, as reading online it sounds painful and wont work!
But you guys may advise better xx

Rachel I bought Clary Sage oil in Holland and Barrett yesterday for the bath, was recommended by my reflexologist xxx

My appointment is tomorrow at 1:30.

All the way through the pregnancy I expressed my wishes to not have any intervention and I think the fear would be if I then did and caught the infection again they'd be held accountable. My last experience in hospital led to neglect on many levels (I was left for too long between waters breaking and giving birth. Protocol wasnt correctly followed and so my son and i both almost lost our lives to the GBS infection and following complications) I've had meetings with the head of midwifery following a serious complaint... It goes alot deeper :(

My midwife hasn't mentioned offering a sweep or induction or anything so far as it was just not on the cards and I think me changing my mind will be exercised with caution. The risks are def guna be there but in hospital they can be managed under medical conditions and an IV antibiotic drip would be ready for me just incase things accelerate. The sweep would be performed in a basic clinic and because I'm more susceptible to the catching the infection again, it's risky.

Im at the point now though where my thinking is my husband is likely to introduce more bacteria and infection potential by having sex to get labour going than a sterile gloved finger but that would be on my head as it's advised I don't have sex either!

*phew* long reply, sorry lol. It's really upsetting and frustrating but the reasons are understandable and anything to keep this baby from going through what my son did is worth it 1000000% :)

Why is it the pains are just poo or fart pains!!!??

I shouldn't laugh but I totally understand where you're coming from!

I woke up at 2.30 the other night thinking I needed to do a poo, despite having a mass clear out just before bed (sorry, tmi!) only ended up having a wee but the noises that came out of my bottom were enough to drown out the sound of a jumbo jet :oooo:
Lol!!! XD Wow. I wouldn't wanna be the unfortunate one to need to go after you lol :P

These last couple days I've had the back pain I've said about, then just go for a casual loo trip and end up completely emptying my bowels and the pain's gone again! Just happened, proper blow out, got all excited and everything lol

Totally understandable Flick!!

Hopefully things will be more clearer tomorrow once you have had your appointment and spoken to the midwife.

My appointment is at 1pm :)

Yes understandable flick!

I think I may give a sweep a go but fingers crossed baby comes before then!!!

I haven't discussed sweeps, etc with my midwife, I'm guessing that will come up at my next appointment when I'm 39 + 4.

I've been on a super long walk up hill and back down today, had the urge to finally pack my hospital bags (I'd done it but ran out of room and hadn't bothered to split it into two bags) and gave a chair a second coat of paint. My feet are now throbbing and I have informed hubby that he can take over with the roast dinner that I started while he was in work! Nothing exciting, just frozen chicken joint and frozen roast veg with gravy and Yorkshire but I can't wait!

Just remembered, I also gave the toilet a good scrub this morning, maybe I'm nesting or maybe I'm thinking too much into it lol

Just catching up with the posts regarding sweeps. I can totally understand your reservations flick. Im booked in for one a week tomorrow and will be willing to give it a go by then.

Cleaned the kitchen including the oven this morning and i was knackered after that so lay on the sofa and watched a film. I don't feel like baby is very low down anymore so have been having a good bounce on my ball.

Looks like im finally getting my delivery from mamas and papas tomorrow (only 2 weeks late!) however i dont think ill actually believe it until i see it! Xx

Bless u flick on the front page ur the one in the middle hope u start soon Hun xx

I feel like I'm really missing out by not being able to have the 'bring on labour and sweeps' conversation with you all... I'm totally gutted I won't get the experience even tho I can totally understand why everyone just wants to bring labour on!!lol

Had another scan and Dexter is estimated at 6 lb so only put on 1 oz this past week.... placenta seems to all be working ok tho so been told I need to eat more. Have 'lower range of normal' fluid around him so got to keep an eye on no leaking waters as I said I'd not had anything so far. .... I'm guessing I'd of known if I was leaking would I? !?

All set for next Wednesday anyway... soooooo can't wait to meet him.

Xx

Hi everyone.
Not been on for a few days due to only getting out of hospital on Saturday.
And im currently now back in hospital as Charlie has lost 1lb in weight in 5 days which isnt good at all.
Hes also tongue tied so he isnt able to breast feed properly which is making him Jaundice and De-hydrated. So currently hes currently on a 20 minute(if it lasts that long) breast feed, a 1 ounce expressed breast milk bottle and a 30ml Aptimal top up too. To try and get him back up to levels.

I hope everyone else is doing fine, and hope to see more babies soon xx

Nicipoo- at hey sorting out the tongue tie quickly for you? Once it's snipped he's hold soon get back to putting weight on. The first few days are so worrying, but don't worry you'll soon be home x

MrsT....doesn't matter how dexter gets here, we can still do you a labour thread! Glad all went well with the scan...pretty sure you'd know if you were leaking, some people do just have lower levels

So that's due date just about done...now the boring start of counting how many days over I am starts !!

Mrs t don't feel like your missing out, as long as dexter okay that's the main thing! Not long for you, how exciting that you know that next week you will meet him!!!!!!!
I'm also sure you would know if leaking, they say you fill a sanitary towel in a few hours! I think anyway lol xxx

Rrrr nic bless you and Charlie! Xxx

P's at the moment baby is really pressuring/ pushing downwards!!! I wish she would push abit more lol xx

Defo dont feel left out mrst - i cant believe your csec is next week thats so exciting!

Hope you and charlie get sorted soon Nici, must be a stressful time for you but hopefully you are getting all the support you need xx

Mrs T, the waiting and not knowing is truly awful. Knowing your due date and aiming towards it gives you goals to get to to help pass the time. Right now though, for me, I'm completely lost in an anxious, unknowing bubble and I hate it. Im no way in control and that is so scary. Sounds crazy huh?

Also, I don't think it is too obvious if you're leaking waters in some cases. My SIL was for weeks and it went undetected! Thankfully baby was fine and born 10 days late so musta been quite happy in there.

Nici, hope baby get's better soon. Do they know why he's not gaining weight? Is it because of his tongue tie?

Rachel, totally get you haha Just one extra big prod and 'POP' ;)

Becky, hope baby doesn't leave you hanging on too long! I'm hoping this week will be super busy for babies! Seems they are all enjoying an extra long weekend :P

Mrs T - don't worry about not joining in with the waiting game.
You have the date in the diary and it'll be lovely and organised.
Very surreal though, with my other 2 I was just told to go in morning and wait.

This time j have a time of op too!

Not long now!!

xx

God girls u are making it so more exciting for us :)
Just wanna say thank you for past 9 months got to know you all really well u are all lovely can't wait to share the journey of our children growin up

Mrst be totally worth the wait for you Hun can't belive urs is next week :) xx

My due date from my LMP is tomorrow! Not sure it really matters as scans dated me 8 days backwards but it's there niggling at the back of my mind!

Really thought it was kicking off this morning, had my first 'proper' contraction, not just the braxton hicks lower bump tightening. It was an all over bump and lower back one and I got really excited that this was the start so got bouncing on my ball and nothing!
Just more tightenings throughout the day :(

This waiting game is rubbish, I agree i'd much rather know when it's going to happen, be it tomorrow or 2 weeks time atleast I would know rather than reading into every little twinge.
Plus I have the added worry if anyone will be around at the time to look after my eldest 2, that would be alot easier to sort out if we knew when, tbh that's worrying me more than the actual labour lol.
