Brice's...I was induced with my first. Ignore everyone with the horror stories, you never hear the positive ones, always the negative.
I was induced with Harry as I went 12 days overdue. When I was admitted, they did an internal check and found I was already 3 cm. they inserted the pessary (bit like a mini tampax) and left us to it. As I was low risk, they said I could go home til it all kicked off, however we decided to give it a couple of hours and I did start with contractions in the afternoon. I was taken down to the delivery suite around 7pm, and my waters went naturally at 8pm ish. I didn't actually give birth til 5 am, but this was me due to having a big baby, and I couldn't push him out.
He was actually delivered with an episiotomy (they make a small cut to stop you tearing) and forceps. Even though at that stage I had been prepped for a c section (in case they couldn't get him out) I found it calm and relaxing. I enjoyed the giving birth, as I'd had a spinal block, so felt no pain at all.
And in the end how baby gets here is irreverent, and you won't think about it at all, you'll just be glad to have baby in your arms.
Just go with the flow, and remember that you don't get a medal for being brave! Take whatever pain relief you want, no-one will judge youon. That xx
