*******February mummies 2015*******

Brice's...I was induced with my first. Ignore everyone with the horror stories, you never hear the positive ones, always the negative.

I was induced with Harry as I went 12 days overdue. When I was admitted, they did an internal check and found I was already 3 cm. they inserted the pessary (bit like a mini tampax) and left us to it. As I was low risk, they said I could go home til it all kicked off, however we decided to give it a couple of hours and I did start with contractions in the afternoon. I was taken down to the delivery suite around 7pm, and my waters went naturally at 8pm ish. I didn't actually give birth til 5 am, but this was me due to having a big baby, and I couldn't push him out.

He was actually delivered with an episiotomy (they make a small cut to stop you tearing) and forceps. Even though at that stage I had been prepped for a c section (in case they couldn't get him out) I found it calm and relaxing. I enjoyed the giving birth, as I'd had a spinal block, so felt no pain at all.

And in the end how baby gets here is irreverent, and you won't think about it at all, you'll just be glad to have baby in your arms.
Just go with the flow, and remember that you don't get a medal for being brave! Take whatever pain relief you want, no-one will judge youon. That xx

I love this place for making me feel better, thanks so much, u have all really helped me!

Cant believe some of us are going to have babies soon, its becoming so real now! Its reassuring to hear some positive induction stories - ive got my heart set on going to my local birth centre so would be devestated if i couldn't but equally I know that labour is not predictable and anything could happen so its nice to be aware of what may be in store!

My friends have organised a baby shower for me and its being held at my house tomorrow so i have exhausted myself with cleaning today. Got my feet up now waiting for hubby to get home and hes promised to make tea tonight so im going to make the most of it :-)

Finally made a start on the hospital bag, still along way off being ready but at least it's a start. For those of you planning on breast feeding are you going to have formula in aswel just incase? Was speaking to my sil about this and she said she always had some in the cupboard just incase and she felt like it really took the pressure off knowing she had a back up if needed. Also how many newborn nappies is everyone buying? Ive read not to buy too many incase they aren't a good fit etc but want to have a good supply in for the first few days xx

I know it's crazy! In some ways it's dragged with the morning sickness but suddenly they're nearly here!

Ive bought samples in different sizes and am planning on sending hubby on nappy run once we have met her. Have packed an emergency supply of formula but am determined not to use it !

I hope to breastfeed but have bought one small bottle of ready made formula as a 'just incase'. This is in the event of an emergency. Ive not washed the bottles or the steriliser as I don't want it to be tempting no matter how determined I am this time! Some people say not to have anything at all but if my husband or I am up sh!t creek on a wet, windy, icy or snowy sunday evening in Feb I wanna know ive got something 'just incase'.

With nappies I have 2 boxes of Pampers - newborn size 1. £20 in asda atm. That's just under 150, they should last about 3 weeks. They also have packs of 24? For £2.97 if you don't wanna go crazy.
ASDA baby event starts next week I think so it may be worth holding off for a lil while longer to grab some bargains :)

Crazy stuff girls ....we love being here makes us feel better reading all ur stories :)

Hope everything is ok let us know I will put u on the front page did not relise u were on there xxx

My scan went ok today, baby looks perfect but growth slowed slightly on the chart since 20 weeks so got a follow up scan and consultant 2 weeks today. It's probably she's just a bit smaller but worth checking. Estimated at 4lb 7oz today.

Good news on the scan.. And you get to see your little one again!!

I've ordered two small cartons of ready made milk as a just in case. They'll be staying at home though. I did this last time and don't see them as bf worked out.

Nappy wise I've just ordered one pack of size ones and one of size 2.

Last night - hideous. Mother in Law decided to ask if I'd be breast feeding. A conversation that was never going to go well

Why what happened bricey? Sorry only if you want to share obviously! Everyone has an opinion on everything atm don't they?! My mil thinks baby shouldn't come in our room for the first bit and boss took great pleasure in telling me how my body will never be the same again. Not shit sherlock you don't have to bring it up lol!

Glad scan went well blondy

It's true your body will never be the same again. You'll carry evidence forever that you've done the most incredible, magical and amazing thing in the entire world... carrying a baby :) Not such a bad thing ^-^ xXx

Can't wait to meet her :). Spent today buying sample packs of nappies again so I can choose the ones I like. Anyone ever tried reusables?

35 weeks today :) on Tuesday me and Helen are changing our civil partnership to marriage so excited thought we get it done before baby here doin it with our two best mates as they are doing same then we goin ing out for a meal to celebrate :) xx

Awww Zoe that's lovely xxx
I have used re-usable nappies and I have made myself some for this time round but I'm starting off with disposables just for ease the first couple of weeks xx

Zoe and Helen, congratulations! :D Have a fantastic day! ^-^ Of course you will hehe xXx

Ive not tried nor thought about reuseables to be honest. I'm too lazy but also our washing turnaround time is about a week as we don't have a tumble dryer. Id need loads!

Btw does anyone know where you can get aptimil with the teat on the bottle already? I've been looking everywhere and can't find it. I've got some newborn aptimil just in case but apparently they can be funny about you using it at hospital as the bottle isn't sterilised etc so someone told me the ones with the tests are but I can't seem to get them anywhere.

Foxy these are the ones. You can get them in the bigger supermarkets or boots. I have the same but the cow and gate ones xx
