February 2018 Mummies - the final hurdle

I will be glad to never see another needle for as long as I live :( I had two blood tests today instead of one! My arm smarts like hell as they had to take it from the same arm as my left arm just wasnt playing ball! My bile levels and everything else from previous blood test have come back stable :) But my iron levels have dropped! So if they don't come back up I'll have to have yet more tablets :/ I'll be rattling with the amount I already take! Ugh!!

Growth scan on Friday and the consultant appointment too, hopefully I'll habe a more rougher time of when my c section is actually going to be :D getting really nervous about it now :/

I'm so over this pregnancy  it's impossible to sleep now as I just cannot get comfortable at all and I feel like a massive heffer

Hope everyone is ok, got my news today, been made redundant:-(

Also losing my maternity package, completely devastated

3 days into my maternity leaves and this happens, justy luck! Xxx

God that's awful Ruth. Will you have to apply for maternity allowance? It's not what you need at this stage is it x

Awww.. I’m so sorry to hear that baby Ruth. Would they not have to pay you the equivalent contractual may pay that coincides with any notice period you would get? Get some advice on it. For example, in my place. If I’m made redundant, they pay notice of 3 months so I’d be asking for the contractual pay up to that point I was entitled to. Doesn’t harm to ask I don’t suppose!

Big hugs xxx

Oh and are they making everyone redundant? Because they have to offer you suitable alternative employment if it exists. Xxx

Thanks guys yeah will def be pushing for more answers, especially the contractual pay for notice period!! Hopefully find out more over next few days.. could really do without all this mother right now!

Yeah they have made everyone redundant so at least I've not been singled out. Oh the joys!

Hope everyone is doing ok xxxx

We’ve had a difficult day today.

Little legs is 6 days old and last night I was ready to throw him out of the window - ok don’t take that seriously I’m kidding but I was tested to the max. He wouldn’t settle after the 2am feed so I was essentially up from 2am again. But this time he was like crying on and off (usually after I’d put him down and just got comfy in my bed he’d scream again) the feeding has all gone to pot. He’s lost 8% of his body weight so they want to weigh him again and if he hasn’t started gaining he has to go and be seen by the paediatrician. He is apparently latching well but he falls asleep on the breast so I have to keep waking him up etc.

Me and OH have fallen out because he slept downstairs when I needed his support in the night. He’s since redeemed himself but if he does it again tonight I’ll be having serious words!

Edith is good. It's quite apparent there is some kind of condition at play though and they still don't know what? Seeing geneticist this morning and being referred to GOSH as that is where there team who specialises in neuromuscular disorders are based.

It's obviously a very emotional and scary time and I wish it wasn't happening but the care baby is receiving is phenomenal. Despite being a first level intensive care hospital (she is on the lowest possible care they offer here though!! Just a feeding tube and one SATS monitor) they encourage skin to skin and I'm able to express enough for her now. I've actually been told to start freezing my milk as I've got so much. Drs are fab.

X

Pleased to hear Edith is doing well. I can’t imagine how terrifying al of this must be. I hope you get some clarity soon xx

Spoke to a midwife on the consultant clinic today. We had a long chat and she's completely on my side.

The consultant has agreed to the csection. He had it in my notes just didn't tell me. She talked over all the things he failed to explain to me. I'm much calmer.

She is going to speak to him either Friday or Tuesday when he's in and get the forms signed then is taking them personally to the appointments team to get me a date. If I don't have it by Tuesday then she will sit in on my appointment the following week and ensure he does not let me leave without a date.

She was honestly amazing. Really did take time to calm my concerns.

In other news... is anyone else constantly really warm? I can't stop bloody sweating.

Oh Ruth! So sorry!!! I would seek advice as well as pursue any contractual monies owed..

Tor sorry it's been difficult! Hope tonight's better for you!

Ts ahh so pleased to hear! How lovely of the midwife!! And another plus you'll have a date soon!! Temp wise I'm the opposite always freezing.. I warm up if my feet get/stay warm but if they're cold I'm freezing.

Mrslaw I hope all went well with your section today xx

Ruth thats awful and so stressful. Not what you need!! I didnt realise they could remove mat pay

Tor - difficult times xxxx I remember them well. I would just keep feeding him as often as you can. Tickle feet, change his nappy, anything to wake him!

Ts - that midwife sounds amazing!

Thanks Crinkles!! 2pm, so I am currently back in bed for a nap!

Yes have we heard from mrslaw?

My pre op is at 2pm as well today Wednesday! Also just considering going back to bed for a bit!

I'm glad to hear Edith is doing well, carnat.

I'm so sorry to hear that Ruth.

Good luck with your pre ops today Wednesday and beauandhamish

How are you feeling Wednesday?

I had an awful night, painful indigestion. I didn't know what to do with myself. It stopped about 20 mins after I'd taken gaviscon. It made me feel so sick.

So Ive just had a call from the hospital and Ive been bumped from the list for tomorrow...

Basically they have said theyre very busy - but theyve also revealed that I should never have been booked for a Friday as they dont do elective sections then. Sheer incompetence.... next available date is Wednesday. I have queried why the Monday list hasnt been moved, but the midwife was so arsey and just kept talking around it.

So Wednesday 31st Jan. Unless I get bumped again. Im due on 3rd Feb so Im very nervous about going into labour and it becoming an emergency
