February 2018 Mummies - the final hurdle

Boiler decided to start leaking this morning, plumber can't come until Monday so no heating or hot water! Not a happy pregnant lady lol x

Nope, no gtt!

How long do you have to wait for results? I’m worried I have diabetes now!

I was told 10 days (but they'll contact me sooner if there is an issue)

My 28w appointment with MW is a week after GTT and they said she should be able to see notes on system by then.... I had my usual 28w blood too.

x

Well.

I have to have a gtt.

My baby is off the charts. 3lb 5oz at 28+1 >95% on all measurements.

Oh wow! Did you have a scan?

I had a GTT last time, got my results within 48 hours x

How are we all feeling?

My pelvis feels incredibly sore in the middle... I was on crutches by 28 weeks with my last pregnant (6 years ago!!!) due to sciatica... praying that doesnt happen again

Yes I had a scan Wednesday. Sorry to hear your pelvis is hurting. Have you been referred to physio? I go to hydro sessions because of my back. It’s really helped!

I havent - I have mentioned to the midwife a few times but she just says paracetamol and a hot water bottle which isnt massively helpful.

Hiya Wednesday,

Sorry to jump in [i'm in the Jan thread!] - but I really recommend going to the docs and getting them to send you to physio. Where I am, you just ring the physio department and they sort your appointment out, I think I only waited roughly 10 days.

It was SO worth it, yes it's a bit uncomfortable when they realign stuff but afterwards I had no pain whatsoever for over two weeks. As it crept back in, I had another appointment and am now pain free again!

Never had this with my first pregnancy, so just limped around for a couple of weeks before seeing the doctor.

Thanks Ali - I think I will go to the GP and ask them. My midwives are a little hopeless here, so will probably get more luck with GP! Thank you

My midwife said it's part and parcel of pregnancy.

Let me know if doc refers you to physio. If he/she does, then I will try too

I find this a lot with midwives - not very helpful on this kinda stuff.

Will let you know

27 weeks today..... hello 3rd trimester.

I have to say I feel like I am much further along that I am. I have had a huge bump growth spurt in the last month and now look about 8 months pregnant. As a result I have an achey lower back and pelvis pain already. Some days I am only comfortable when I am laying down :(

Hope you are all doing well xx

Had my 28w appointment with anti d injection.

Baby is measuring up severely big but nothing to worry about for them just yet.

1.7kg when max weight at this stage is about 1.3kg according to the red book. Oh Lord lol

Today the midwife told me to go and purchase a maternity belt.

Maybe try your GP if MW isn't being helpful?

Can you self refer for physio where you are? (We can but need a GP appointment to get the form)

Ive got a physio appointment. Went to GP who was happy to refer me straight away - the waiting list is about 6-8 weeks...

I am very fortunate to have bupa private healthcare through work, so I called them and have an appointment tonight! Just leaving work now so will update you all once Im out. Appointment 6.30

So...

Back from physio last night and I have got pelvic girdle pain (PGP) apparently and need to get the weight off my right side when walking so had to have crutches.
Ive also got a load of body tape on the back of my pelvis for extra support (I have no idea how this works) and am having acupuncture on Monday!

And Ive got my iron tablets from the midwife now to sort super low levels out from Fridays blood test.

The crutches are a fantastic! I can take all the weight off my right side!

At least they have taken you seriously Wednesday. And I am glad the crutches have helped.

Just had my 28w appointment and I've left very confused.

My GTT results were slightly abnormal (first and last numbers fine but middle number high), MW said they could want me to go into diabetes clinic and begin monitoring? Although they only usually do that if 2 of the numbers are out of range?

She is going to call and clarify? Of course if I need to go in then I will but I could do without it. Am measuring 31 (am 29w) so within range.

In other news it's my son's 5th Birthday (and OH's 37th Birthday) so we are having a few of his cousins round for cake and happy meals.
