February 2018 Mummies - the final hurdle

Feel shocking today.
Shaky, too warm, and keep getting a really weird "can't breathe" sensation. I'm thinking virus?

Oh no! I hope you're feeling better

Thanks all. I'm getting there. Felt better with fluids. Plan for tomorrow is to hog the sofa and watch Christmas 24 all day in my Pjs.

Woke up feeling terrible and over tired. Looks like the only option lol.

27 weeks today though. Hello pregnancy part 3, aka the part where I should consider buying something.

Torino, surprisingly I didn’t find the whooping cough that painful, but then again the nurse did sing a nursery rhyme to me at the same time.

Silly question, but is washing new baby clothes essential?

I would wash anything that is going to be against skin for sure. In non bio (and a Fairy fabric softener if you use a fabric conditioner).

I wouldn't be as fussed with outside clothing (cardis / coats / snowsuits etc)

X

Ive washed all the new stuff - especially vests.

Same as carnat, not bothered with coats etc.

Also a few people have given us second hand bits that have already been washed and smell amazing, so I wont be doing that as I know where the y have come from

You ladies are putting me to shame...

I haven’t got anything to wash yet really!! I’m in denial I think. Hahaha I’m still trying to put my house in order before I sort out the nursery and clothes etc

Ive got enough stuff for triplets and I dont even know th gender! Haha

I’ve just done my bedroom. So at least we’ll have somewhere to sleep in the early days. Tilly’s bedroom is half done. Then the nursery and the landing and if we get time the spare room! We’ve decorated the entire upstairs except the bathrooms! I’m worried it’s not going to be done before the baby comes.

The whole house is upside down and needs a good going over and sort out.

We are the same Torino! Done my daughters bedroom, starting on ours next week with painting and new carpets, then the nursery can be finished, I painted the walls last week but need to wallpaper now. There is stuff all over in the whole house! Need to repainted some bits in the front room today before I put the tree up and oh is finishing tiling the kitchen! I will get it all done before baby comes lol x

Im washing everything next week. Ive been putting it off because Im not looking forward to getting rid of the "new" feel of clothing. Petty I know.

Also making that dreaded hospital bag next week too.

31 Weeks woohoooo.

This is so me. I’ve bougt some nice clothes that have that “new” look and feel and they’re going to get scrunched up in the wash? Maybe I’m petty too. But if it’s best for the baby then maybe I’ll just have to wash everything, I would hate for their skin to react.

I’ve half packed both my bag and the baby bag, but thinking I should really have it done by next week to be on the safe side

Im glad Im not the only one who thinks this way .. yep just do it.

Ive packed some of it too and have a list ready but need to do it all properly now.

This is the worst part of it all, washing clothes and packing the bag! Otherwise Ive enjoyed shopping.

The clothes will be puked or pooed on withing the hour, so they won't stay looking new even if you don't wash them

Both my others had sensitive skin so I'm washing everything this time (just in case!)

lol as you know Im a first timer here and didnt take any of that into account.

As far as I am deludedly aware, my baby is going to be perfect and will give me no trouble whatsoever. Yeah right.

Hi ladies, how exciting that so many of you are due your babies next month..... I am certain my little baby will make me wait until at least mid-Feb so I think I've got at least 10 weeks to wait if not more!

I have started pregnancy yoga which has been sooooo good for all the aches and pains. I am measuring 2 cm bigger than my gestation so no concerns from the midwife but it makes me concerned haha! SO much extra weight and bulk to be carrying around.

I am working up until mid Jan so 6 more weeks of work for me...... I cannot wait to have some rest and do some swimming.

HOSPITAL BAGS
can you remind me what you pack? I can't remember what was useful (i'm planning for a home birth but will need a 'just in case')

xx
