.August Mummies.

Yeahy! Emily that's so fab! Great wee work pattern.

My meeting went ok, was really informal and just a chat basically. I asked to work 4 days over 7 mainly Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. She seemed happy enough, and said she would let me know by letter by the end of the week. But she was asking about holidays and the week I return to work and trying to see when someone can come down and give me an update and she was talking about fitting my other 2 days off?!?!! As I'll be off the Sunday and its a bank holiday on the Monday. So think she let slip I will be getting it. Might just be a 12 week trail though xx

I know... Part of me is happy, but I feel so sad at the same time.xx

I'm an August mummy but not been on here for ages! I've been trying to start up my own business from home so has taken all my spare time! Plus I needed to get my sons room decorated before Xmas so had my hands full!

So my 4 days has been accepted on a 12 week trial. Part of me is happy, but I feel this sadness. I just can't believe how quickly the past 9 months have went. I can count on the one hand the amount of times we've been apart. He's my little buddy, my sidekick. I feel like in a way I'm letting him down :( leaving him, will it affect him? We need the money. We couldn't survive on my OHs wage. And we will be comfortable with 2 wages. We have a holiday booked and planning Disneyland Paris for next year. We have a lovely house and nice car.. I want to give my boy the best start in life. 3 out if the 4 days he will be looked after by one of his 2 aunties, my mum and his dad. Then 1 day a week at nursery. I hope he enjoys his nursery. And gets to think of it as a fun day?! Unless my winning lottery numbers come up... I cannot believe my little bubble of happiness is going to change.... I will just have to make the most of my days off with him. Take him places and do fun things.

Iv never felt anything so overpowering than the love I have for my wee boy. I never expected to feel like this. How strong and overwhelming it is <3

Well, first tooth at last yesterday, bout bloody time! 25 weeks after starting teething symptoms. Not long til the next one no doubt so can't expect the sleepless nights to improve much!

How's everyone else? This thread had all but disappeared! Xx

Hi Leesey, aww first tooth what a milestone olivias 2nd popped through within a weel of the first with no trouble.
The 3rd and 4th have just cut through, shes had much more trouble with these two than the first.

I still have a lazy baby shes 9 months this week and still not crawling :) she just rolls everywhere! X

W's 1st and 2nd tooth were no bother. He's not got anymore.
He's loving his nursery.
No crawling or walking here yet. He's bet active with his army crawl, and rolling around xx

Yeah rolling all over here too, although I think she *may* have crawled in her cot today when I was making a cup of tea - she ended up at the top on her tummy with no other explanation!! xx

T has four teeth and has taking to flicking the bottom ones against his top ones, I hate the noise, it's like squeaky cotton wool, ack!

Ts not crawling properly, only on his face, it's hilarious. He rolls a lot though and likes to stand up and practise walking but he's a bit of a lazy sausage, would rather tell at me instead :) ha ha
Xx

Leesey i think they just do it when were not looking lol!!

Fbe, O does that its horrible isnt it?! She hasnt got to grips with eating with 4 teeth yet and keeps biting her fingers!

Hey ladies :)
Glad to hear all the babies are well!
Lexi-Mai is doing well. Shes sitting up for long periods of time, crawling everywhere, she can stand holding the sofa and yesterday I caught her trying to pull herself up (I had to stop her as she was using my brothers xbox to do it!). She is a proper little chatterbox, her fave is mama :) she shakes her head when I try and feed her now, monkey! Shes still on quite a few bottles a day and wakes for milk during the night too.

No teeth here yet, I reckon they will all come through at once! Gahh! Xx

That was like Alyssa, no crawling though. She skipped all the other stuff like teeth and went straight to wanting to talk, walk and pull herself up! She said her first word at 5 months, then Mummum at 6 months (which is now mama most of the time or mum if she's in a huff). But that's teeth coming through now so I'm wondering if we'll maybe get a bit more rest at night after the first 4 come through? Can't wait for a decent night's sleep!! She nods in agreement when we say something she likes, it's so funny!!

I've had a feeling for ages she won't actually crawl, but maybe now she's just going to do it in secret! xx

Hey August mummies!!

Cam is doing well. He has eight teeth! Thankfully he's not been to bad with teething (touch wood) just seems to wake up with new teeth every morning! He is on the verge of crawling and pulled himself up using the sofa the other day. He babbles a lot and says bababa but will not say mama no matter how much I encourage him. He loves his food and is getting really good at feeding himself...and the highchair...and the floor...and the dogs! Lol!

I had my first day back at work on Thursday. It wasnt too bad. Spent most of the day checking emails- I only had 807!! Lol!! Once I'm proprly settled in work I'm hoping to come off my meds but I will have to see how I go. The staff member I have problems with hasn't been in yet, so that will be my biggest hurdle to overcome. I had a very bad moment on the drive into work today, was suddenly overcome with anxiety and had some very bad thoughts but actually ended up having a very good day so all that negativity was for nothing!!

Glad to hear all your bubas are doing well. Can't believe how quickly the time is going!! Growing up to fast if you ask me!!

XX

Oh Emily I'm glad your ok at work. Take it slowly and get settled in. Then work on the meds :) your doing fab.

A week on Tuesday I go back. I'm trying to remain calm and tell myself it'll be fine, put on a brave face. But it's killing me inside
W loves the nursery though xx

August Mummies!!!! What's happening? How are all your LO's?

William is crawling everywhere, very noisy and your typical little boy. He's so much fun :) hates getting dressed and his bum changed... It's like a mini meltdown. I'm hoping he grows it out. Hates having his teeth brushed but apart from that he's just the love of my life...
I'm enjoying being back to work. Great to have my own money again :) and nice to come home to my little man.
Can't believe I'm organising his 1st birthday party... Where has the past year gone xxx

Hello! I know what you mean about where has the year gone, some of Alex's birthday presents arrived today. A year ago today I had just done my last day at work, I really can't believe it's been that long, but at the same time it feels like Alex has been here forever, so I can't believe that only a year ago he was still a wriggly bump

Anyway, glad to hear that William is doing well - he sounds very similar to Alex :)

Alex started clapping and waving just over a week ago, and took his first steps unaided last week, so there have been quite a few proud mummy moments recently

We've bought a house and will be moving in before the end of August, I wanted to move sooner but it needed building work doing and the builder was busy for quite - rewiring has been happening this week though, so progress is being made. I'm so excited to be able to decorate a room for Alex finally, but I'm rubbish at making decisions, so I still haven't decided what colour to paint his room

I go back to work on 27th August, but will hopefully only be working Tuesdays and Fridays every week, and Mondays every other week. Got to send my form off to work asap, but hopefully they will agree as that is what we've got a nursery place for! My mum will be looking after Alex on the Mondays that I'm working which is handy as it saves us a bit of money and means Alex will have lots of fun times with his Granny :) We only found out yesterday that he'd got a nursery place as they were all saying that they were full and he could only go on waiting lists, so I was starting to panic a little bit (well a lot actually, it was really stressing me out so I'm glad it's sorted!).

Erm, it's too late to think of anything else to say now, but I hope all the other August mummies are doing well :hugs:

Can't believe 6 weeks yesterday my baby will be 1! Been such a rollercoster with him but he got discharged from the hospital yesterday!!!!! He started walking a few weeks ago and last Friday he pulled himself up and walked across the room - there's no stopping him now!! I've no idea what to get him for his bday either!
