***August Mummies Final Hurdle! ***

Aw nicki you know im sure they can't touch you with disciplinary when it's pregnancy related?!

I've thought about labouring too, I'd love to try the birthing pool but with my Bmi being high I don't think they'll let me although so far I've had no issues during pregnancy *touches wood* so fingers crossed. I wrote my birth plan the other day too! Has anybody else done that? I haven't actually wrote what I want to happen just things like I want my oh to tell me what we have, he's afraid of needles, do whatever needs be to keep baby safe, I want gas & air, epidural as a last resort etc

Oh Nicki so sorry!! Hope your day goes better than expected.

Summer I have not written a birth plan- I didn't with my first two but they want me to with this one (it's a new place). I had two 100% intervention-free births and I know I want to do that again so I think I will just write a 1- or 2-sentence birth plan saying I want no interventions unless there's an emergency, and intermittent fetal monitoring with a Doppler only.

Sorry to hear you've had a tough time Nicki. As summergurl said are they allowed to do that because of pregnancy related time off etc?! I'm not sure they are, it seems pretty harsh tbh.

I haven't done a birth plan yet, midwife said she'll go through it with me at 36 weeks, I think. But basically will be No epidural, OH to tell me the sex of baby, happy to have vit k injection for baby at birth, also happy to have the injection to get the placenta out quicker, 4-6 hour discharge if everything is okay. X

Thanks ladies, I tried to get a Drs appointment but even for a telephone appointment the first is next Wednesday! My union rep said they can't do anything but when I got signed off for 2 weeks a while back the sick note said depression/anxiety so they're not counting it as pregnancy related (even though it's caused by me not being on meds because I'm pregnant, the dr even said the pregnancy was making it worse)

I haven't written a birth plan, don't no what to write in it to be honest!

Ahh Nicki that is naughty of them, I was listening to radio 1 the other day and it said on there that people that are pregnant are being discriminated against more and more these days, which is silly really because the repercussions the companies face are pretty severe!

I had a birth plan blank space in my pregnancy notes, so I just said yes to Vitamin K and Yes to the placenta injection, and I wrote would really like to try a water birth this time but of course 1. they have advised me not to deliver in water and 2. I am facing a quick birth as my first was only 6 hours from first contraction to delivery... so there probably won't be time to fill up the birthing pool my midwife said!

I don't really know what else to write to be honest, those are my only thoughts and opinions on the situation really - as long as I can labour as relaxed as possible I don't really care, I definitely want an active birth though as I had that last time and it was amazing. I want to do lots of walking because that really helped me last time too, getting through the contractions til I got to 7 cms when I just wanted to sit down lol xx

Nicki what industry do you work in? My line says back pain which I questioned with the dr who reassured me that if my work question if or try to discipline me she'll change them. I work in education and pregnancy related illness is exempt from the maximising attendance policy xx

How is everyone? I've been feeling exhausted the last few days. Went to bed at 8.30 last night and still woke up tired today, not looking forward to the night feeds coming up if I'm already feeling this tired lol x

Urgh tell me about it.... I pee all night and I toss and turn and I'm also tired when I wake up ... Oh the joys of the end of pregnancy ... Sooo uncomfortable already! I didn't think I would get this uncomfortable but of course it has struck! I'm pretty knackered all the time and my feet and hips ache a little ... And I've still got 7 weeks of work. Just going to power through I think and see the light at the end of the tunnel!

Apart from that... I'm fine :D haha - I have the midwife next week at my 30 week appointment - when does the baby turn to be head down does anyone know? Cos I think mine already might be? Xx

The midwife said my baby was head down at 28 week appointment but they still have loads of room apparently to move about. X

Ahh thanks! I will ask my midwife when I see her at 30 weeks, I think I can feel feet up high so I am guessing that he is head down, feels that way. xx

That's what I've been feeling too lexi, feet up high so guessing baby is still head down xx

We found out last week at midwife appointment baby was slightly breech, now today at consultant baby is more breech.
So turning wrong way lol but I have faith baby will turn xx

Evening ladies.
Hopefully baby rights itself soon for you ab11. I think mine has been head down the whole time, I've never been told any different.

I've been feeling a fair few Braxton hicks too - has anybody else had any? Baby also is loving to stick it's bum right out and make me very uncomfortable. Feels like my stomach is stretching soooooo much like its going to pop out!

OH saw baby do one really big massive roll this morning, it was very cute but also a bit alien! I'm not feeling much in the way of kicks and punches anymore but lots and lots of rolls. Assuming this is normal? I had this on sunday and took myself off to the hospital who monitored me and said all was fine.

xx

I've been having more rolls and nudges than kicks summergurl. I sometimes still get the odd kick but not as much.

I've finally pulled my finger out and made a wish list on amazon for baby stuff, now just gotta wait until Friday for payday! Better late than never, ay?! Cant believe how quick its gone and I'm only just starting to buy stuff. With my daughter I had everything bought by about 24 weeks!

What changing bags have people bought? I'm looking for a biggish one so I can put harpers bits (spare clothes, drinks bottle and small snack) in the changing bag, rather than carry her rucksack around too xx

I got our changing bag in mothercare in the sale a few months ago. Not sure it'd be big enough for 2 little people tho. I've seen some lovely cath kidson ones but point blank refuse to spend out that much!

Ah can't believe you're just buying stuff now. We've been lucky in that people have bought us the main items like pram, changing unit etc I just want to get a few more baby outfits as I feel I don't have enough. Hard to find nice neutral ones tho as were team yellow. Any site/shop recommendations?

We had most of the bigger stuff bought or gave to us last time too which was lucky, we still got it all. The stuff left to buy are the smaller bits and pieces, like bottles, nappies etc. Tbh this pregnancy has passed so quickly that I don't know where the time has gone!

Some changing bags are quite expensive and I don't wanna pay too much either. I think harpers cost 40, but its too small to use for two. I found this one which is quite nice and looks big, also not as expensive as some of the bigger ones ive seen

Morning everyone!

I REALLY wanted a yummy mummy changing bag this time around because I couldn't afford one last time... So I got one with dalmatians all over it :D don't think it would be big enough for two though :/ Their must be some around. Best thing to do is look at them in the flesh probably go to mothercare etc.

I have been getting braxton hicks too, I never got them in my last pregnancy so it is weird feeling them now, they are just so tight! I find I get them more when I am active, my tummy goes rock hard. It feels so weird, I can't get used to it!

Ab there's still tonnes of time for the baby to turn and if you get bouncing on a birthing ball they always say that massively helps and if you visualise the baby head down to get yourself in that mind set then your baby will turn :D it will be fine xxx
