***August Mummies Final Hurdle! ***

I'm going to a birthing unit this time Kholl which is probably the same as a birthing centre for you... Was it lovely?? Our one looks fantastic I cannot wait to give birth there :D I have also heard a much shorter stay will be likely as you can be discharged straight from there and might not need a stay overnight - so exciting!! Xx

I'll be sure to,update my birth plan then, thanks.
Aw your birthday day sounds fab, sounds like you'll certainly enjoy it. I got given a pregnancy massage as a gift at my baby shower so cannot wait to book that in!

Anybody else suffering with heart burn?
I've had it the last couple of days. Thought I had escaped it. Tried changing a few things in my diet but it hasn't helped it's still here so I called the doc today for something so got to pick it up tomorrow. Still 8 weeks to go I really hope it doesn't get too bad :(

Xx

Mate, I drink gaviscon by the bottle - have done since 24 weeks. I hate heartburn so much, and I have it all day every day and even wake up with it in the night, and nothing calms it except gaviscon and the odd rennie. I even have a bottle of it in my glove box! I am just full of acid I think lol! I had this last time too, I reckon it will go til the end like last time too, grr! lol xx

Over here the 'normal' stay is 4 days. Most women actually stay that long, especially with a first child. However, I told my doctor I didn't like it last time and she was really surprised they hadn't told me I could leave earlier. Turns out I can leave after 6 hours and get a midwife to visit us regularly at home the first week. But that's only when everything is OK with mummy and baby of course. Well, fingers crossed :-)
I just love these little baby clothes. Looking at them and putting them away, it starts feeling so real!

On my word I feel so disorganised compared to you lot. I haven't even sorted out a mattress for the snuzpod, bottles, nappies, clothes or a double buggy yet!!! never mind a hospital bag lol!!! I don't know why I'm dragging my heels rather than just getting stuff done!!
I've also just developed heartburn and I got the good gaviscon - the really thick stuff which does the trick but it's so thick I get the heave drinking it!! I cried through lack of sleep yesterday and my wee one was a horror all day today - it's left me feeling that I wing cope :( :( xx

Hey ladies, it's my last week at work :)
I attempted to pack my bag but my bag isn't big enough which is annoying as it's the biggest bag I have that's not a giant suitcase! I hoping to be out of hospital asap I hate hospitals, they bring out bad anxieties and it'll be worse when hubby has to leave! I'm getting heartburn or acid or something but I feel it in my back which is bizarre for me!

Oh god lexi maybe I am lucky just getting it now then. From 24 weeks sounds horrendous!! I didn't realise we could have Rennes I think I have some here in the cupboard, I'm off to hunt for them!!

Flo where are you from?

I'm guessing you'll get the nesting instinct soon GillM & get all you need done.

Nicki just take the suitcase! Lol my reasoning behind taking a case is that I will be able to pull that along whilst oh carries baby out in the car seat so I haven't got to lift anything heavy incase I have to have a c sec or whatever. X

Apple cider vinegar and baking soda in water works better than ANYTHING on earth for heartburn! Try it next time!

Lexi I wish I could have a birth center birth every time. Oh, it was amazing. Just amazing. Insurance dictates where I can have a baby, unless I want to pay thousands of dollars out-of-pocket (which I actually considered this time, that's how much I love birth center over hospital birth). Luckily the hospitals around here are very progressive... Still, I would rather not be in one!

Nicki yay being done with work!!!

Gill I have zero baby things organized too! Still feel like I have so much time!

Ahh thanks Kholl I really hope all goes to plan and I can have a nice water birth or something at the birthing unit, or just a nice chilled birth hahah! I would like a waterbirth but I don't know if I actually want to deliver in the water lol xx

I'm the same Gill, dont have much for baby sorted yet! I just hope baby doesnt come early. I'm gonna hopefully get our hospital bags packed in the next few weeks.

I've had really bad heartburn for ages now, been prescribed something for it since 28 weeks but some days I still get it terribly. I had it with harper too and remember towards the end I couldn't lay down to sleep as the burning in my throat made me feel so sick and ill. Once I gave birth I never had it again, until this pregnancy.

Enjoy your last week at work Nicki, not long now!

Sickness is back, haven't been able to keep anything down today. Plus been having a lot of Braxton hicks the last few days. Today I had loads throughout the day but haven't had any this evening. Baby has been a bit quiet this evening too. Had a few movements earlier tho after a cold drink. Not sure if baby has moved positions because movements are different today from yesterday. Gonna keep an eye throughout the night and if still quiet I may give the midwife a call in the morning. X

Oh hopefully all is okay Rox - it is hard isn't it with movements and knowing whats what! I am rubbish and i panic very easily lately, usually I am a very laid back person but I just forget how to be relaxed when pregnant about these sort of things, so yeah ring your midwife if you think there is a reduce in movements! always better safe than sorry.

Yeah braxton hicks are happening to me a lot more frequently too, I can't believe I never got them in my last pregnancy! So weird! xx

I can't remember getting them in my last pregnancy either lexi so its all new to me! X

Can you guys believe our first August baby is here? Congratulations, ab11!

Movements change and vary so much day-to-day. It is so hard to know what's instinct and what's anxiety, what's normal and what's not. The mama worry, it never ends.

I know congratulations to Ab my ex due date buddy! He looks so tiny and snuggly! It seems much more real now, like this is happening quite soon..... eek!! xx

Holy moly it freaks me out that August babies are making an appearance already!! Huge congratulations Ab!!!!! Xx

I know Gill its scary to think that will be us all very soon... you never know! These babies might turn up early for a few more August people xx

I did read somewhere that movements might change a little from 32 weeks due to baby now getting bigger & room running out but obviously chick if they're drastically different I would always call the mw's.

Wow the first August baby is here! Hope ab11 & baby are doing well.
It's scary when you think of it like that, our babies could most defo be here soon too. You just never know when they feel like they want to make their entrance! X

Abs baby looks beautiful :-)
We live in Belgium, very overprotective of pregnant women and babies... on a medical level at least.
Nicki: have fun counting down the last days at work!
Lexi: How is the swelling?

Swelling is good thanks, it has definitely gone down but I was on my feet again today at work and my ankles are puffy again but I am putting it down to being on my feet a lot at work ,I only have one month to go so I am just gonna have to grin and bare it. Hands were itchy but not swollen today! Weird isn't it!

How are you Flo?? xx

Went into hospital with reduced movements. Baby was quiet for the first hour or so but picked up after a walk and cold drink. I got transferred to labour ward at 5 as day unit closed and I could hear someone in labour! All felt very real, especially being in the labour room with the little cot there for baby. Hope everyone is well x
