August 2017 babies! The final thread!

£570 is a good deal ?! I couldn't justify spending thta much. Do you walk alot though? We're buying a better car seat than pram cos she'll be in the car more. Our pram was on offer for £150 lmao :p
How can you not love a good carboot though?

You shouldn't feel embarrassed, it's not your fault, it's the placenta. You don't have to tell anyone anyway, keep it secret if you want to. When do you go back to see the, again?
As long as baby is happy in there your doing fine! :)

Thanks, I'm overweight to. My bmi is 31.5 so I think I'd have to ahve it anyway.
My hubby's mom was on about her pregnancy/birth with him... she had him at 32 weeks which tbh just made me worry like fk. Hopefully she doesn't take after daddy! Lol. Xx

MissCharli, sorry to hear you're not feeling happy with your GTT. I agree that it's absolutely not your fault, please don't beat yourself up :hugs: very good deal on the pram too, I have the Oyster Max and it was £800 adding in the second seat and the carrycot

Tashap, loving your pram too - it's very elegant :)

Sorry. I have so much to catch up on! Had a pretty tough few weeks. Got rushed in to the labour ward as they suspected I was in early labour. I am now being monitored every week which is fun! My second gtt came back positive so I'm currently blood monitoring and have another check up next week and my husband was taken in for tests as they suspected he had viral meningitis again!! He had it when I had just got home with a new born last time. It's been a train wreck of a few weeks!!! On a plus my bridesmaid dress is stunning and had to be taken in! Just hope baby stays put for a good 7 weeks!!!

Oh no jill! Hope baby stays put until July at least. How come they sent you in for early labour?
Hubby hasn't chose the best time to get ill has he lol, hope he gets better soon x

Ohh blimey Jill, cross your legs! Hope baby stays put

I was having regular full on contractions which I was fobbing off as Brixton hicks but I was being sick too so they rushed me in and ran loads of tests. I was at mums so miles away from hospital too which was fun. They gave me some medication, no idea what and tbh didn't care haha. I just wanted baby to stay put. Had quite a few hands up my lady area which was, well, rather horrible! So now I'm on weekly monitoring. I haven't been like that since, I was less worried than they seemed as I just kept saying it's too early... my bag isn't packed! Like that mattered haha! Safe to say my bag is packed now!!

I know I feel bad for him but I'm also like ok I could have a baby any time now so get better quickly please!! I bet after all this I will go overdue and it was all worry for nothing! In saying that the Gestational diabetes has pretty much assured I'm not going passed 39 weeks if things don't happen naturally. I am bloody terrified now though. It all feels very real and with me being 30 weeks next week, the countdown is really on!!!

I have had words with bump and given him a warning. Safe to say I am taking it as easy as I can with a toddler. Haha!

Bloody hell jill you've had a time of it! Naughty baby needs to stay put! Glad that so far everything is okay though x

Ha yes PB I would never dream of spending that much if I was buying it, but OHs Mum offered straight away and it was between him and his mum to discuss a budget! My car didn't even cost £570

I go back to the clinic thingy on Thursday. I have my 28 week midwife appt at 9 and then that at 1.15, not sure there's much point me going to work at all tbh! Luckily it's a 2 min drive/10 min walk depending on weather to the hospital from work.

How has the GD been for you so far Jill?

I have an extra scan booked anyway at 34 weeks, do you think I'll get more now?

GD has been fine, I am just testing my blood and reporting back next week with the results. It's really not that bad. I got a scan this week so I was 28+4 and I will get one every 2-3 weeks at the diabetes clinic so you should have more scans before your 34 week one. In saying that, you know how different procedures are all over the country haha. I was just reading you thought the cold might have messed with the test, don't feel this is a bad thing, if your bloods are normal all will be fine. As soon as your sugars raise ,they will give you metformin to help reduce things again. If your sugars stay low, you just keep testing and that's it. It's not as bad as it's made out to be from a checking point of view. I try and be positive and think well baby and me are well watched now and any changes ,they act quickly! I do hope I don't have to do the injections! I didn't last time so fingers crossed I can manage without that part!

Well I love seeing him in scans so that's definitely a positive. I guess they are just making sure he doesn't get too big?

I guess I'm most worried about not being able to control it and having to have insulin. And I really don't want him to be poorly when he's born :( feels like it's going to be a long 11 weeks (if they let me go to 40 now). When did you get diagnosed?

Oh my, Jill!!! Please little baby, stay put! Keeping my fingers crossed for you, hope hubby gets better soon and glad to hear they're keeping such a close eye now on you and baby xx

I am flying abroad to my dad's with my toddler tomorrow morning, returning on the 8th of June, I must be CRAZY! But I have to :( Hubby can't join due to work, so have to go on my own :( Been packing my suitcase today crying my eyes out (1) That house is so empty without my mummy, everything there is her, but she's not there :( and (2) I am terrified at the thought of something going wrong and praying baby will stay put  plzzz

Sending love to all of you, please keep your fingers crossed for me girls xx

Jill you have had a right time of it all seeming to come together! Fingers crossed he stays put and does as he is told and that you OH gets better speedily to help you 🙂 H4R hope you have a lovely holiday and enjoy spending time with you son and dad before little legs arrives 😊 Just keep thinking of the positives misscharli like the scans. You might have one sooner than 34 weeks because I have one at 29 weeks I was supped to have it at 28 weeks but they cancelled that clinic so got pushed back then I have one at 34 and another at 38 weeks because they put my bmi down higher than it what it actually is when I was booked in.

I had my second gtt test on the 10th and they told me that Friday it was positive. The positive is they are watching you and him and they will adjust the plans based on how you are both doing. Last time I was diagnosed late and Athena was fine except being jaundice and that could have happened if I went full term. Always keep positive!! Being high risk is, in my opinion, being watched very closely xx

Jill what an awful lot of horrible things going on all at once! Must have been so scary. Can't believe you are 30 weeks already though, that sounds so much closer to giving birth than when we are in the 'twenties' weeks. Just take it a week at a time, every week that baby stays put is positive xx

How is everyone measuring at their 28 week appointments? I've just had my first measurement and baby is big, I hope it's normal next time!

I thought they kept you in the hospital if you went into early labour? I mean no one wants to stay there but do you get to choose?

Just washed baby clothes, never enjoyed pegging washing out before aha. Plus I'm finally in double digits 99 days to go woo heh.
Does anyone know if i have to wash the babies coats? X

Are you allowed to take baby out before they have vaccines? We have a wedding in october and my hubby is saying we shouldn't take her and he'll just go because of the germs :/ i thought was ok after a week or 2 to take them out ? X

Yay nice to be in double digits. Yes you can definitely take them out before the vaccinations, otherwise you'd be housebound for 8 weeks! We're off to a wedding on September 30th so he will be about 6-7 weeks max. I kinda don't want to go esp cos it's in Cardiff but it's my aunt!

Not sure re coat, I'm assuming so as everything else has to be? I still have a lot that needs washing!

I haven't had my 28 week appt yet, but I was measuring a bit over at 24. She wasn't worried though. I'm assuming he will be this week too esp with the GD... appt is on Thursday so we'll see!

Jill- sending you lots of hugs, that must have been scary. You tell that baby it needs to stay and cook a bit longer. Poor hubby too - I hope he feels better soon x

Misscharli - i think your get another scan or two Hun x

Safe travels Hoping4rainbow, hope you get some rest xxx

I'm currently driving down through France, we are staying in burgundy for the week as it's my birthday tomorrow. It's sooo hot 27 and our air con is playing up! I've had to stop so many times to wee and walk around. Anyone else's feet swelling up? X
