I am tempted but then feel like I'm being a bit pushy and I should just wait.
Last time the hospital rang me with a scan date about 4/5 days after booking in. This time heard nothing in 12 days.
At least I know it can't be later than 6th. Thanks.x

My midwife told me it could potentially take up to 2 weeks for the scan date to come through. I heard in 10 days but I work in the department so I found out pretty much the moment it was booked. If you haven't heard in a couple more days then maybe call then. I don't think it's pushy at all xx

I filled out a form at booking in appointment and card just arrived today. Start date 8/11/14 which would have been when I was only about 5 weeks. Didn't realise it lasted until a year after due date.x

Crawkey, I'd definitely phone if I were you. Just explain that the midwife said you'd have heard by now, and your worry your letter's got lost in the Christmas rush. Say you're concerned you're going to waste a valuable spot by just "not showing up for it" when you don't actually know when it is.

Same for anyone else waiting on appointments/etc.

The window for downs testing etc only goes to 13+6. You don't wanna miss an appointment then not be able to get another one until later. Xx

I agree you definitely need to phone and get it sorted out. Here I was told to phone the unit two working days after my booking in appointment with the midwife and got the appointment sorted out over the phone. It really helped to do it that way because the first appointment I was offered at my local hospital was 9th Jan when my husband wouldn't be able to come with me because he'd be back at work. So the lady on the phone checked Pinderfields hospital which is about half an hour away and got me booked in there for 2nd Jan when I'll be 12+2. Confirmation letter then came through a couple of days later. Have also received my appointment with the consultant (have to be consultant led as I have a history of epilepsy and had a 3rd degree tear with Ben) for the 7th Jan.

I didn't do a form for my medical exemption though - that seems to be as hit and miss as everything else with the booking in appointments - some people sorting it and others not. Fortunately my Dentist just believed me and didn't need to see the exemption, so got my check-up for free - did mean she couldn't do the x-rays she wanted though, they'll have to wait until summer 2015!

Great names coming up there, ladies. We are starting to discuss but nothing agreed yet. We haven't even named bump yet!
Have my scan date for between Christmas and new year. Two weeks to wait.

Anyone else doing photos? I found a page on the babycentre.co.uk site that tells you how big baby is each week compared to other objects. We are doing weekly photos with me holding that week's item. Last week was a grape. This week is an olive. I now need to find an olive that's bigger than the grapes I had last week?! Not looking forward to pineapple week. I might be crying in that photo.

Loretta that an awesome idea. Ive been doing belly pics - from th3 day i found out every week. But using the item is a good shout. My godson has named bump 'bob' so thats what it is and hes told me it has to be called bob even if its a girl!hahahaha

Have any of you experienced bad period style pains? I'm not doubled up in pain, but its more than noticable, just want someone to tell me its normal? I also get back pain with it, but have had that for a couple of weeks, not experienced cramps like this? X

That's pretty much how pregnancy works.

I'd give 111 a call, just to see what they suggest.
Probably nothing, especially if you're not bleeding, and even if you do see blood, could well still be nothing...

My letter was here tonight when I got in, obviously been at the wrong address for a couple of days as it was dated 9th December.
5th Jan :/ I'll be 13+6, so like literally the latest it could be. Was definitely hoping for earlier than that but at least I have a date.x

Crawkay I'd phone the scan unit and see if there is anything they can do to get you in a bit earlier if you want the downs testing. Have you worked out your dates on LMP or ov? If you are a couple of days out they might scan you and move you forward, in which case you would be too far along for the testing to be accurate. It might be they can offer you a scan at a different hospital like they did with me.

If your dates are estimated on LMP, you could end up too late for the NT scan. Just give them a ring later, pose it as a "curiosity" thing...

"Hey, I was just wondering, my scan date has come through for 13+6, by my calculations. If at the scan they put me forward by even a day, does that then mean the NT scan can't be done?"

See what they say and go from there. Xx

Got my scan appointment through. It's 12th Jan at 1.15. Will be 12 weeks exactly going by my dates. Was really quick considering only seen midwife on Thursday xx
