@EmilyMaria I guess it varies by region. My last hospital's maternity unit didn't want to know me before 20wks. They said go to the ER or the GP if I have problems before then. My GP fobs me off whenever I tell her I have pains so I really do feel a bit left in the lurch until that magic 20wk milestone. I did some googling and the hospital I'm at this time do have a phone advice line for mothers under 20wks, so that's good.
@MammaOfMany Thank you. It doesn't hurt to chase your referral up considering you're approaching the half way mark now. I pushed for my GP to refer me at 5 weeks (I was out of zone for the hospital I wanted so had to get in early) and I didn't hear anything from them until just before my 12wk scan. So it took 7ish weeks. I'm not seeing the midwife for booking in until next week (20 weeks).
Thanks for asking ladies, I am feeling better today. I guess I did too much, though I didn't really do a lot. It was mostly just really strong, constant period-like cramps but also some backache and I did have a few BH type tightenings. The pain was bad enough that I couldn't stand up and it made me vomit. Very weird. It started after I went on a walk to the supermarket, which is only about 10-15mins each way. Dr. Google advised me to drink 3 glasses of water and lie down, so that's what I did.. It took a LONG time to go away, but it did go away. I'm fine now. I'm thankful I can feel baby move enough to know they're still alive in there, if this happened last pregnancy I'd have been panicking!
