♡ October 2020 mummies ♡

I'm fine, not super itchy, but I was last pregnancy. Today I'm 18+4 and the morning sickness is FINALLY starting to go away. Though now the back/hip pain is killing me. Second pregnancy is no joke!!

Hope everyone is doing fine! Has anyone else got extremely itchy skin? My boobs and stomach are so itchy I've scratched them to bits in my sleep...

Yep, I was so itchy week before last and last week! Came out in a rash as I was scratching so much. Has magically disappeared now so who knows.

I need a moan.

I got up early this morning, made my son his bottle, fed the dog, washed up and cleaned the kitchen as OH has been too tired last night to do his chores, cooked pancakes for everyone, watered the garden, scrubbed and cleaned the bathroom, cleaned all the dust and grime off of our front door, put the washing out and another load in and all my partner had to do was look after our son and make his lunch. I’ve come downstairs to put all the cleaning stuff away and he is just sitting there on his phone whilst my toddler is having a fit! OH didn’t put him down for a nap this morning because ‘how am I supposed to know when he naps?’ - ermmmm because you’re his Dad and he’s 18 months old????????? It’s now gone 1pm and he hasn’t had his lunch yet and has now fallen asleep hungry because he couldn’t keep his eyes open. Lockdown is making my partner so useless it’s driving me mad!!!!! Please don’t tell me I’m the only one :talkhand:

Sometimes partners can be absolutely infuriating. I remember when our wee lad was younger and the littlest things would just make me so angry, like why can't you just get on with it dad!

Maybe sit down with dad and go over the little one's schedule, so he 100% knows it and has no excuses. It's just not acceptable to have to do all the work on your own!

Yes! I am so itchy! Particular my back and boobs too - think my back is cause I’m getting dry skin though so have ordered some body oil which I’m hoping will help.

I think you need to sit down and have a chat too - he needs to start pulling his weight especially cause you are pregnant...guys sometimes need to be told though as they can’t just seem to figure stuff out like us women can

Maybe you should mention this to your midwife, it might just be your skin stretching but it might also be something else... I can't remember the name of the condition but I remember a lady on here had it!x

He redeemed himself this afternoon and this evening so I’ll let him off this once...I remember him being a bit rubbish with my last pregnancy too - there were lots of ‘sit downs’ last time! I don’t think he quite knows how to cope with pregnancy and absorb everything as he tends to go off track a bit.

This one is also weird but is anyone else super aware of their pulse/heartbeat? When I'm laid down I can literally feel my stomach pulsing! It's so weird, and when I'm going to sleep at night I can hear it! Please dont tell me it's just little weird me haha

What you are feeling is your abdominal aorta. You probably could have felt it prior to pregnancy too, but now we are pregnant I would say that everyone has a very heightened awareness of their bodies!

Anybody else’s nips quadrupled in size? Haha. Also, I’ve started leaking :-o

My boobs literally have not changed. I have some blue veins visible but that's it. Not any bigger, not sore, not leaking! Is there something wrong with me?!

Nope! Second pregnancy and no leaking here either - don’t worry

I had very few changes in my breast aside from being a bit more sensitive. I kept the same cup size too and never leaked. Count yourself lucky because I now have lots of boob leakage and it's very annoying if I forget my breast pads!x

@kj1 My husband has no clue of our daughters schedule either. If I do anything where he's watching her I have to be like "change her nappy if I'm not back by x time, feed her this food at at this time." or she winds up with a soaked nappy and a belly full of junk... He won't attempt nap time lol. Men eh!

My boobs are still so sore, and have been leaking since 13 weeks. I've gone up two cup sizes. Nipples don't look any different though. @Natalie8964 My boobs never really changed in my first pregnancy. They swelled a tiny bit like before a period but nothing much. They were a little tingly the first few weeks of pregnancy but nothing after that. Then I randomly started leaking at 26 weeks. Changes will be happening behind the scenes for you lol

@Natalie8964 every pregnancy is different not just between people but even in individuals. I have had some where I have had bad nausea and some with little, some with incredibly sore boobs, some where it hasn't changed a bit (and milk supply was fine for all of them) the list goes on. Don't worry if you aren't getting symptoms that others aren't, it doesn't mean that there is anything wrong or things aren't working properly, it's just that what presents itself is different.

I'm having some serious pains today. Like period pains but much worse. I haven't had 5mins to sit down all day so I've probably just overdone it but ughh it's so sore. I've been laying down for about an hour now and it's not improving :( My first midwife appointment isn't until next Wednesday so I can't even call anyone about it.

Sorry you’re not feeling well @WinterWolf if it’s not disappearing or getting any better I would call the EPU?

It's been a couple more hours. I feel a little better but still pretty sore. We don't have EPUs here in Australia. It's the ER or the GP until 20wks!

Hi, threadhopping here. I joined the November group. I'm an aussie too.

If you are already referred and booked into antenatal clinic don't be afraid to call them for advice (it is their job after all). I called with a question a few weeks before my first appointment because I had a UTI and ended uo on the phone to the midwife in charge of the clinic who was really helpful. I find that there can sometimes be gaps in the GP's knoweledge about pregnancy specific things.

Hope you are feeling better WinterWolf? I was clearing out some cupboards yesterday and got a super sick feeling and tired as I think overdid things...I think cause we are feeling a bit better we tend to over do things but maybe need to start slowing down a bit :-?

Is it cramps you are getting?

I hope it settles down soon @WinterWolf. I know how you feel about not having anyone to call, I was thinking something similar today. I still don't have any confirmation of who is going to be taking on my antenatal care despite being referred 4 weeks or more ago.

My advice for now would be rest and fluids and if it doesn't settle maybe a call to your GP or your local hospital to see what they suggest. I really hope you feel better soon.
