XoX February Testing Thread XoX - 4 BFPs!!

MrsS15 How long have you been trying if you don't mind me asking?

Huge good luck for next cycle I hope it works for you! xx

Starchild....fingers x the :witch: stays away and you enjoy celebrating on your birthday.....when is it? X

It's the 27th. I will be celebrating on the 25th, minus any alcohol, though! Just a quiet night with 2 of our friends. Didn't fancy a night on the town much this year! Getting old lol xx

Wow still a spring chicken at 25! My af due 26th so we'll be testing around the same time....unless :witch: surprises me a couple of days early again!

Oh no I mean celebrating on the 25th instead of the 27th, haha although to be fair I'm going to be 26.

I hope she stays away! :) xx

Ha ha! Sorry miss read it! Even at 26, you're still a spring chicken Hun! Age is definitely on your side!

Hey all, brand new to this forum and to ttc! First month trying, we've been married for almost a year and are very excited!
I had the copper non-hormonal IUD removed on feb 3rd, and my gynecologist told me it was safe to start trying right away, and that I was due to ovulate a couple of days later from the right hand side (she did an ultrasound as a standard checkup).
So there was BDing Wednesday (prior to removal) friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Wednesday that week (OH is delighted!). Got positive OPKs on Sunday and Monday, then increasingly faint lines afterwards, except when I did a random on a couple of a days ago which was nearly as strong as the control line.

TWW is killing me, have done a couple of tests already with the obvious BFN outcome! AF due tomorrow or Friday, no normal
PMS symptoms yet, but have been having a kind of pressure on my right hand side pelvic area, gets worse when I need the bathroom then disappears entirely. Feels a bit like ovulation pain.

So I know no one can tell you the good news from a list of symptoms, but I've been stalking around forums for days and really wanted to join the conversation! It's nice to share with other ladies in the same position, My husband is super supportive but when I talk about it he takes it as me stressing and tells me not to! I'm not stressed about it, it's our first time and I'm only 26, but it does constantly linger around the back/front of my mind so I just wanted to vent a bit!

Nice to meet you all and I hope I can add to the bfp tally soon!

Hi xivy and welcome. You are definitely in the right place of the tww is killing you! we have all been there....some of us longer than others! It's hard to tell from the symptoms you are describing. Especially as you've been on birth control previously. I have found it helpful to chart my bbt (basal body temp) so you can get an idea of when you are more likely to ovulate. Using opk's can be good...but I have had mixed experi nudes with them....if you are reading my other posts on the other thread you will know I am trying to work out if I am ovulating at the moment :wall: it's so frustrating!

If you normally get pms and not having then currently this could be a good sign....but again as you will see from other posts, our bodies can play cruel tricks and we can fall into the trap of SS and imagining all sorts....I have been guilty of that.....for the last five months ha ha! Just can't help myself!

Best to test day after af is due but if it is a bfn maybe give it a couple of days, unless the :witch: arrives....good luck and welcome again!

Hey and thanks, that's really nice :-)
My cycle is pretty clockwork, the copper IUD doesn't prevent ovulation or anything, only creates a hostile environment for sperm and implantation. But I was told as soon as it's out you are pretty much back to full fertility haha. I can usually feel my ovulation and this time it was great to have the reassurance of my doctor about which side and when it was due so that I could look out for it. I live in Germany and female healthcare is amazing, she showed me the size of my ovary (12mm) and explained it has to swell to 20mm before an egg can pop out, so it was due in a couple days. so started the kits, vfls fri Thursday Friday Saturday, then strong positives Sunday and Monday. I think next month I might try the temp thing though - just located a thermometer in the medicine box last night
Yeah the urge to test is crazy! I really, really want, but it's an expensive and depressing hobby to do constantly! I will maybe try to wait til Saturday, if no AF has shown up that'd put me two or three days late! Here's hoping! Have you been trying for long?

welcome to PF!

If you only ovulated a few days after the 3rd you might not actually be due your period until maybe Sunday. If you got the positive opk on Sunday/Monday you probably didn't ovulate until the Tuesday so you're about 8/9dpo. Does that make sense?

In the nicest way possible if I was you I would put away all opks and temping etc. Just have sex and enjoy yourselves when it's so early! We did for the first 4 months and now we're 2 years down the line I'm so grateful we had that care free time. If you have say a 28 day cycle, if you have sex every 2-3 days from day 8 to 18 you'll be well covered. Lots of luck xx

:-) I know what you mean, and it's exactly how I wanted to approach everything until it actually started! Then I got carried away with the testing and googlng, it's so easy to fall down the rabbit hole. I ovulate quite late into a 33 day average cycle, and have 8 months of cycle data saved in an app so I'm pretty sure I'm due in the next few days but yeah, I totally get that keeping it relaxed and fun is the best approach, it's just once you get the idea in your head, you know...
If this month is a no go I think I will maybe just do one or two opks to see if the pattern is sticking, but other than that try and forget about things a bit. :-)
Cheers!

If you do get your period in the next couple of days that's a very short luteal phase so keep an eye on that. Good luck x

Hmm I will have to keep an eye on that, I guess I've never worried about being late in the past (joys of the IUD!)...thanks for the tip x

By the way if you do end up temping, use a basal thermometer as the ones that go in ears are not sensitive enough. X

Congratulations to all you ladies who have received their BFPs. Good luck to the rest of us who still have not tested and will be trying again next month! :) Our time is coming, ladies!
