I put on about 4 stone while pregnant from 7 1/2 to 11 1/2 stone. Im since down 2 stone after giving birth a month ago. I probably could have done with weighing a bit more than 7 1/2 to start with at 5ft8 but my flabby post birth stomach is depressing me plus I had a section so a layer of flab hangs over my scar. I feel like I can't really do much to get rid of that excess bit of weight cause I'm breastfeeding so don't want to diet and it's probably still too early after my c-section to exercise. I'm desperate to lose that wee bit to hopefully fit into my old jeans cause I just can't get them over these new hips so I'm still in my maternity ones and the band around the ribs is starting to get annoying. I feel like I have nothing to wear because of my new bigger hips. So I'm wondering about other peoples experiences; how long did it take you to get back to your desired weight?, Did your hips ever go back to their original size?

I'm almost back at my original size. I only gained a stone or so during pregnancy as I had GD so my diet was really strict. I've been back to my pre-pregnancy weight since a month or so ago and have lost a bit more since (now 8st 4lb, running around after 2 of them probably!!), but my tummy is more "floppy" than it used to be (I had c-sec, so have that bit that hangs over the scar too) so I hadn't been able to get back into my pre-pregnancy trousers. Yesterday, though, I tried my old trousers and they finally fit!! I'd still say that I'm not my original shape and don't hold out a lot of hope that I ever will be.

That's great you are almost back to pre pregnancy size already. I hope my hips shrink a bit so I can eventually fit back into my old jeans and skirts too. I don't expect my body to be exactly the same cause it's been through a lot but I do hope I can manage to lose a little bit cause its such a drastic change from before. Hopefully the weight starts to drop off when I can be more active.

I completely symathise - im having a complete nightmare :(

I was size 12 and have gone to an 18 and bubba is either weeks on wednesday. Nothing is shifting this weight at all.

Im now being quite strict with what i eat and it may have to be the gym ! (i hate the gym :( )

My hips have changed and I don't think they will ever go back to normal. Would love to losey flabby tummy but can't do the exercise for health reasons so have to swim n walk as much as I can. Dint beat urself up tho hun. It's really early days for you yet u got to heal up n just enjoy he bubba.

I'm so upset about the weight gain, even though i'm taking steps to get it off, i too was a size 12 and now find myself buying size 20 full brief knickers ffs! I had a c sec too so my tummy looks so strange and alien, i was chuffed that i never had stretch marks while preg but ive got horrid veins on my legs and feet :-( baby is only 8 weeks old so i know i need to give myself a break, but i feel so far from being a 'yummy mummy' i'm even avoiding having my photo taken with the baby, which i know i'll regret! im sure we'll all get there in the end though :-)

I was 8st 7lbs and a size 8-10 at my booking appointment with James.

Weighed 10st 6lbs the day after I had him and have managed to actually gain weight since

Lots of snacks, lack of exercise etc... I am now a size 14-16.

I tried and failed many times to lose weight and now I am pregnant again there isn't much I can do.

I am trying to be better about what I eat this time round, but all I want is crap :wall2::wall2:

I was 8st pre pregnancy i gained two stones in pregnancy. I lost half a stone when baby was born its been four weeks now and in 8st 9. I really want my pre pregnancy figure but i don't think it will happen.

I had awful morning sickness so started by loosing a stone. I had gained 2 stone by the end of the pregnancy but actually weighed less than I had done before as soon as she was born. Then I lost more weight because I had to go on a strict diet because LO had allegies and what I was eating was getting to her through BFing. Despite all that I still have a flabby tummy, including a flap that hangs down :/.

I was a size 8-10 pre pregnancy, now I'm a size 12 bottom and 10 top! My hips have definitely changed, flabby tummy still very much present! But hey all I can do is work at it lifting Issy is helping as she's a lil chunk!! X

Im having a really hard time with my weight. LO is 3 months and everyone keeps telling me its early days but I still cant get into most of my pre pregnancy trousers! After having my dd u was back into normal clothes within a week but my son totally destroyed my body :( I'm now flabby and covered in horrible stretch marks.
I put on 4.5 stone when I was pregnant with him and still have a stone to lose but still look gross in all my clothes. Really depressed about my appearance and just hope that time/exercise/sensible eating will get me back to some sort of decent shape.

Congratulations on the pregnancy CARNAT22. Sounds like there is a lot of us in the same boat. I feel better knowing other people are going through the same thing. It is hard getting used to a completely different body than before. Hopefully with time we can get somewhat back to normal xx

hi girls, I sympathise with you I didn't put on too much during pregnancy but tummy still quite lose, but please don't let it get you down, look at your lovely babies and thank your bodies for the amazing hard work they have done, remember 9 months on, 9 months off we have lots of time to get back into shape and if the old clothes don't fit any more, much less stress to buy some that do!!!!! we all deserve a break after pregnancy

The problem is I'm a year on and pregnant again, i don't think my poor tummy is ever going to be the same :/. I agree though it's totally worth it and I'm proud of my body for what it's done :).

Ha, just had a funny thought, imagine if there was a post bump tummy pics thread? Somehow I don't think we'd be half as keen to get them out! Lol

Its 9 month on, 9 months off really. I didnt diet when bfing but started to eat sensibly(lots of soups, salads, fruit etc) and the weight fell off. I was never hungry. But i didnt start losing until my ds2 was 3 months, all i wanted to do was eat at first

Im 6ft..
Weighed 12st/12st 2lbs pre preg..
Just before i gave birth 10days overdue i got to 16st 3!!!
Two weeks PP i was down to 14st and now with my LO approaching 1 on the 11th July im still 13st.. Did get to 12st 8 before christmas but gained a few lbs back and i cant seem to get this last stone of me!

Being tall is an advantage as even at 13st my bmi is 24/25 so im not overally concerned about the scales its the toning that i NEED to do!
But me and exercise.. No such thing! Lol x

I was 150lbs at my booking appointment. 170ish when lo was born. My baby is 17 months now and I'm 130lbs. I had lost all the weight by 7months pp. I don't diet but I do exercise a lot. I have a better body now than I did before baby tbh so you can do it Hun x

With Madison I was carrying around a stone in extra weight and it showed, I put on around 2.5stone when pregnant and lost a lot of the weight pretty quickly.
I was on the go all the time, I probably didn't eat as well as I should have and I was ebf until she was 11 months, I managed to get down to a size 10 nearly an 8. I loved my figure and felt great about my body for the first time in a long time.

Now I'm pregnant again, I'm hoping that I'll loose the weight and be able to tone up as well. With having 2 kiddies I'm sure I'll be kept on my toes so I'll need to make sure I keep up my energy levels. I'm putting no pressure on myself though and I'll see how my body does. I love to keep fit so I'll try to do a bit of it every now and then to keep me sane.

I know it's easy to say but enjoy having your LO and don't worry too much about the weight in the early days. x

Don't think I'd be contributing to a post bump tummy thread lol. I did manage to squeeze and I mean squeeze! into some pairs of my old jeans today so my hips are shrinking thankfully. A couple of weeks ago when I tried I couldn't even get them past my hips. I have new things to contend with now unfortunately in that I may have an infection from my c-section and my baby has a nappy rash I just can't seem to get rid of after being to the doctors three times. All these problems have certainly taken my mind off of my weight mind you! Xx
