Looks like December is going to be a busy month!!!
Don't think there's any chance of anyone being my text buddy - seeing as I'm all the way over in NZ I'll just have to content myself with posting here - must get an iphone before bubbs arrives so I can post while in Labour...(there's optimism for you!!)

I'm hoping this little one won't follow their big brothers example and keep me hanging around for an extra 2 weeks....really hope this one comes a few days early or bang on time, so we can all be home and have Christmas together...REALLY don't want to be in hospital for Christmas day !!!

well, i am due 17th December, the gorgeous lovely Princess81 is my text buddy as u know.

scans...well, i have one next monday 27 June which is to check the size of he/she as they are worried he/she is small. might find out the sex then if we can but not sure!? otherwise my 20 week scan is 28 July!

so happy to be sharing this with all u lovely ladies

Im hoping to have a natural birth but i am worried about how much it will hurt

What are everyone elses thoughts and plans for giving birth?

I'd really love an au naturale birth! Want a home one ideally but I'm a bit scared with it being my first baby. I'm gonna read up in hypnobirthing and there's a lot of literature out there about how to handle labour. If I need to be drugged up to the eyeballs then so be it but I'd honestly rather not. I have a high pain threshold so hopefully that'll help me out. We shall see though, remaining open minded. No birthing pools at my hospital x

I want to push but my mum had some probs with me and had to have an emergency c section and she thinks they might book me in for one to stop any complications and OH thinks I'm too tiny to push lol

I'm definitely hoping for a natural birth and have been reading loads of books. I'm also thinking about hypnobirthing, but not sure yet.

There is a really great documentary about hospital births in America and what it has become, it's called "The Business of Being Born" and it's a good watch as it talks about home and natural birth and makes you feel like your body was made for this and you can totally handle it!

You and I are due the same day Pos so I'll have to keep my eye on you!!
I had a natural birth with No#1 - no pain relief at all (didn't like the gas / air) but I was lucky, I had a short labour - woke up at 5am in labour - got to hospital for 7am - was 7cm dilated and baby arrived at 12.30 - just in time for lunch!!!
He was a big boy though 9lbs 9.5oz and was also a shoulder dystocia baby (shoulders got stuck behind my pelvic bone) so we had to do some unusual wriggling and positioning to convince him to come out - but he did it!! Ended up with 3 small internal stiches and a bit of grazing but nothing major at all.
Will be quite happy if I have another labour like that again (minus the SD of course Am actually hoping for a water birth...hospital now has a gorgeous new water birth room so if all is going well I'm hoping to use it.

But hey, best laid plans etc....at the end of the day whatever will be will be and baby will come out one way or another
