***September 2018 Mummies***

Hi everyone!

Hope everyone is well! The spotting has stopped for me so for now that's a huge relief. I imagine it could start again but I don't want to jinx it.
I got on the forum quite late so it feels like I don't really know any one and no one really knows me but I'm hoping to remedy that!

Since the topic turned to buying bits for baby, I'm afraid I have to face the fact that I've bought nothing at all this time around (mainly because I've been so worried about losing the pregnancy) and I can't even remember what the absolute necessities are! I want to cosleep so do I even need a Moses basket? I'm so out of touch..

Also, I'm expecting a girl, which I'm very excited about (would have been either way haha)!
Congratulations on your girl! Hopefully now things are heading in the right direction you will be able to start buying bits. So hard to know what to buy though!

Is anyone else finding BH contractions take your breath away for a moment?

Is anyone else finding BH contractions take your breath away for a moment?

I don’t ever remember having them with my first pregnancy :eh: I think everyone feels them differently so maybe I just don’t notice mine at all :oooo:

It’s been a odd week for me. Had a letter from the hospital saying that a possible infection was detected in my urine so I had to do a repeat sample at my midwife appointment which tested positive for leukocytes. My midwife has sent the sample off to be tested again  so I’m just waiting on the results for that. It’s weird being told you may have an infection when you don’t have any symptoms at all.
Had my quads blood test on Thursday and I was so proud of myself for not having even the smallest of meltdowns. I just sat in the chair and let the nurse get on with it  which is a huge deal for me as needles are my biggest fear.
Had to do extra shifts in work this week as so many people rang in sick which meant I had to give in and let my in-laws (who don’t take care of my DD properly) look after my DD. I had an all day shift today and I had to work with a girl who has just miscarried. I haven’t seen her in about 3 weeks and in that time, my bump has popped out. I felt as if I was flaunting it in front of her, everyone tried to avoid the topic of pregnancy when ever she was around and I just felt awful.

Are you planning to fully cosleep or just have the baby in a “cosleeper” crib next to your bed?
I highly recommend the Chicco next 2 me cosleeper crib. I mentioned a few posts back that I found it so much easier to be able to see the baby during the night and to be able to just pick her up with ease. I had a Moses basket but hardly used it so I’d deem them unnecessary. A good baby swing and fabric sling carrier are two other things that I found very helpful. :)

Thank you! I know, it's hard and I'm not sure why, as I've done this all before.. First time around I went nuts and bought all the things, but this time I haven't bought anything. I'm also much more aware that many things that one can buy are actually completely unnecessary! And luckily I've got a few things of my daughters I kept (she was born nearly 9 years ago and I started to think I won't have another baby!)

So at this stage do we all know the sex? Is anyone keeping it a surprise? :)

I'm actually not 100% sure yet! I do like the idea of fully cosleeping but some things I read have scared me a bit (like baby might overheat etc) so anyone's experience would be really helpful! I'll have a look at the cosleeper crib you suggested :), thanks! I also have been meaning to check out sling carriers, I'm so glad you mentioned them! Baby swings are something I know nothing about haha so I guess it's time to start googling :).

That definitely worries me because I'm a FTM, don't want end up with all sorts of stuff I will never use. At least you have that experience to know what you did and didn't use when you start getting yourself ready, even if it was 9 years ago! I bet your daughter will be quite excited when the little one shows up. x

Sorry ladies I've not been on in ages!!! So happy for all the ladies who've found out what they're having. It seems to be a popular girl month? Girls are lovely!
I had my NHS scan as we are slowly moving to england. They put me back a week which I was so annoyed about I felt the sonographer just rushed thru it. I'm currently in algeria on holiday and went for a orivate scan today. She said it's a little boy, was very obvious. We already have a daughter so everyone is very excited. She kept my dates same as the scan I had in spain so will speak to midwife in uk and say I don't want to go past 40 weeks on their scan which is 41 weeks. But everything is looking great!

Hi everyone. I'm due my 5th on 5th September. Wondering if the two small very light cream jelly discharge is normal OR should I be worried?

Have you had any urine tests done recently? If so, did they come back clear?
All my urine tests so far have come back positive for leukocytes and I’ve been told that I may have an infection. It didn’t feel as though I did but over the last few days my discharge has changed and now I’m pretty certain that I do have an bacterial infection. If it has a smell to it then I would say to contact your midwife or ring your doctors and just ask for them to do a urine test.
Discharge is still very common during pregnancy though so it may just be normal but better to be safe than sorry in my opinion.

Hi everyone! Finally 20 weeks today, half way through already.
Had my scan today also, I’m having a little... BOY! X

Hi everyone, congrats to everyone who's found out the gender, I'm staying yellow (I think...even though im dying to find out!) What are everyone thoughts on baby movements? I've literally felt nothing, in fact I'm 18+3 And it's really taking me a while to believe I'm pregnant! I've had very few symptoms so I know should feel lucky. It's my 3rd pregnancy So I'm doing alot of comparing which is wrong but with my last baby I felt some movements at 16weeks because of this I'm getting quite concerned. Is it perfectly normal to feel nothing at this stage?

It's very possible you have an anterior placenta and if so, you could be waiting a few more weeks to feel anything. It was 21 weeks for me but now, at 29 weeks tomorrow, I feel so much it's unreal.

You don't need to worry until week 24 but if you are concerned, just give yoit midwife a call xx

How’s everyone feeling this week? I’m on a bit of a downer. I’ve been chasing my midwife all week to get results from my urine test. Anytime I ring her, her phone goes to voicemail and I rang the doctors who said I have to speak directly to my midwife. I’ve spoken to the community midwives about developing symptoms of a bacterial infection but no one can give me any proper advice
I’m sure that I was feeling the baby move since about 14 weeks, only a few pops here and there and mainly in the evening when I’m led down but I’ve felt nothing for about 4 days now and I’m starting to panic. I don’t feel pregnant anymore, a have a fairly big bump when stood up but as soon as I lay down, my belly goes flat and soft.
I haven’t been getting any cramps or anything so I can’t really phone the hospital epu.
I know that I may not feel proper movements until 20+ weeks but something doesn’t seem right.
I had morning sickness and all day nausea up until about 16 weeks and then it’s just stopped. Again, I know symptoms stop around this time but it just seemed so sudden.
Does anyone have any advice? I’ve tried the usual tricks to “get baby moving” but nothing has worked.

I'm right there with you lalaroo! I've just been diagnosed with a cervical ectropian via one of those horrible speculums and they've also taken swabs to check for any infection. The whole process was extremely worrying and uncomfortable. I was told by the hospital to contact my gp for the results today. I expect no doubt I will be told to phone here, there and everywhere and finally by midnight, you never know I might have an answer if there's an infection! X x

Hope you managed to get hold of your midwife? My symptoms suddenly stopped at one point too, and never came back, seems to be quite common so I wouldn't worry too much. Hope your little one moved about too, although I find at this point it can be completely quiet for a few days, I guess they're still a bit too little to be felt 24/7. x

Did you manage to track down the right people? Hope everything is alright. x
