Good luck ladies.

I seen my MW at 11.00, She was here for an hour, went through so so much about labor and birth plan including delivering the placenta naturally which was really interesting and I'm 100% hoping my body will let me do that. Feel really in the know now even tho I do feel a little overwhelmed.

I've been really emotional today, on and off crying, texting OH to see if he thinks ill make a good mum. Bloody hormones. When midwife felt for baby she's back to back and I don't know why but it's really frightened and upset me, FTM syndrome maybe but I think with every app going perfect it shocked me she had moved. She's also 4/5ths engaged. Has anyone else had a back to back baby at this stage? I'm 34+ 4 Xxxxx

I know she has time to move and MW explained that's why my back ache has been so bad but still really upset xxxx

Hope your app went ok at 3. Looking forward to updates ladies.

Bunny, it sounds like it went well :) I found the delivery of the placenta just sort of passed me by. I didn't have my baby at the time either but it is something that I didn't really notice.
Not had baby back to back at this stage so unfortunately have no insight x

I just feel really upset and like it didn't go well. Hormones are everywhere last few days tho x x x

Posted in your separate thread bunny -
I'm a bit confused about the 'engaged' thing - I read that the lower the number the more engaged I.e 1/5th is more engaged than 4/5ths, is that right? Just a bit confused as during scan on Saturday doc said head was so low in my pelvis baby was fully engaged but m/w today said only 3/5th engaged so has he popped back out a bit? I understand they can do that so no big problem ...

Also feeling a bit wobbly after today's appt. (mine have always been straightforward in / out) but today I had glucose in my urine :-( if it's still there in 2 weeks I'll have the Gestational diabetes test - but 2 weeks seems a long time especially as I'll be full term by then!
Also I've had some discolouration on my neck (I posted about it a few weeks ago) looks like bruising but not painful or tender in any way - joking with hubby that it looks like he's been choking me. I thought it was chloasma (mask of pregnancy) but midwife said it's definitely not and said she thinks my thyroid gland is slightly swollen so I'm seeing GP tomorrow  don't even know what this means ...
BLAAAAHHhhh :wall2:

Aww my midwife says it the other way round, I asked today and she said 4/5ths is further then 2/5ths , I don't know if that's because they do thing slightly differently with the midwives I'm with? Unsure ! Sounds like we've had a similar day summer, both our pregnancies have been very straightforward and quick midwife apps and today was different !

I'm sure all with be perfect as always summer, don't really know what to say because I have zero experience xxxxx

Sorry things haven't been going as well as u hoped ladies. Bunny I wouldn't worry to much baby still has plenty if time to move yet n I have had a few friends give birth to back to back babies they were both there first babies n they said yea it was painful but with nothing to compare it to it was just Labour for them if that makes sense. I'm sure it Will move tho.

Cud u speak to your gp tomoz Summer n see if they cud arrange another Urine dip a bit quicker as I agree with you two weeks at this stage is along time. Altho I'm sure all is fine.

Hope ur appointment has gone well Tess.

Oh dear ladies, seems like everyone has been left feeling a little wobbly today. Bunny I wouldn't worry too much, plenty of time to move and back to back doesn't mean section, you may just need a slightly higher level of pain relief. Summer I hope gp can put your mind at rest tomorrow.

My app didn't go as smoothly as I had hoped either! Baby was head down, and has now moved so her head is on my left hip so she is lying at an angle. I thought this was the case as I can feel her head pressing into my hip as if she is trying to burrow down but not in the right place. Anyway, because of this she couldn't get a proper measurement of bump. She said baby certainly feels small, but not worryingly so at the mo. was a diff midwife today and she said she was surprised given Belles weight that I wasn't being more closely monitored anyway. So, bouncing on the ball for me every night, and then another app in 2 weeks to hopefully get a measurement and she thinks a growth scan will need to be booked for then. Not all bad, but could have gone better.

On a lighter note she asked if I had put on any more weight this time, to which belle replied "yeah, it's gone on everywhere hasn't it mum?' Brilliant, thanks kid x

 nothing like the honesty of children! Haha

Bit of a rubbishy day all round for m/w appointments then! Hopefully given Belle's weight - you just naturally make dainty little babies Tess :)

Thanks Michelle, yea I've no idea if the neck/thyroid thing is linked to the high glucose thing but I'm definitely going to ask GP to refer me for the gestational diabetes test sooner given that I'm so near term. If I wait 2 weeks to see if Glucose is still there, then get referred and wait another week/2 weeks for hospital to appointment to come through - I'm likely to have had him!!

4/5ths is more than 2/5ths but I do remember in different areas some midwives do it the other way round.

Oh dear summer! It seems silly to wait 2 weeks to find out if you actually have GD! They should be doing it straight away..hope they do it when you ask x

Hope all is okay Tessa and baby is snug rather than small x

Bunny, only 2 days to go! Xx

Haha that's brilliant Tess u do have to love them!!!

Seems like now we r all getting near the end our little monkeys r keeping us on our toes!!

How much did belle weigh hun?? I'm so worried baby is small.

Michelle.x

Belle was 6lb3 Michelle, born full term, so yes just hoping this is another dainty one. Small is fine, but healthy enough to come home is good too!! How much was Harry?

Summer hope you get some more answers tomorrow and doctor can give some reassurance x

Yea that's what I'm thinking just want this little one to be healthy enough to come home with me. Harry was 6lb10 but born at 38 +1.

Michelle.x

Ah Harry was a really good weight then. Were you small with him too? Maybe you just hide them well! X

No I wasn't small with him just measured normally throughout, to me I feel massive lol but I know I'm not. Yea they said about 7lb all along so weren't far wrong with him. I'm sure bubs is fine I can certainly feel them kicking away. They just love to make us worry!!

Bunny - my daughter was born back to back but no-one had bothered telling me she was back to back, I only found out that is how she came out after labour so didn't have the chance to worry myself over it. I will be honest and say the pushing stage wasn't the easiest or the quickest in the world due to her position but if I did it so can you hun, you will be ok xx

Summer - the engagement thing really confused me last pregnancy and I discovered that midwives in different areas measure it in different ways - some parts of county say 1/5 is fully engaged and some areas say 5/5 is fully engaged so the best thing to do is just to ask your own midwife what the measurements mean when she writes them down :) Sorry to hear you have GD and thyroid worries, hope you get some answers soon hun x

Tessa, sorry to hear baby being a little monkey and lying in an awkward position, hopefully you get a clearer answer in 2 weeks. Classic comment from your LO - gotta love kids haha x

Well today I have been feeling as though I am going to throw up most of the day and my back is really hurting. Baby also being a bit more quiet than normal, I am not worried about his movements I am more worried that those 3 symptoms were key symptoms the week my daughter was born. I swear I am turning into a paranoid nut!

Gilly did you get your movements checked out hun? x

Yeah I do think it was hormones linked with the unknown as to why I've felt so emotional about it today. Been hoping for s really natural birth with minimal pain relief, really really didn't want an epidural unless I get in there and really can't cope. No birth plan as such just know what I don't want but also know I don't know what to expect so happy to go with it, now she's back to back I just feel like maybe them choices have been taken away from me. We will see :) measuring spot on tho so happy with that.

Did not realise how much it can hurt at this stage when midwife is pushing on your tummy to feel baby's position, maybe I'm a bit weird but I don't like it one bit haha especially because little miss was kicking back at midwife.

Yeah seems a pretty poo day all round for apps, know what you mean Mary wasn't awful but could have been better. Two weeks isn't too long to wait and hopefully baby's got in a better position then!

Awwww kelly I know I can't wait!!! 9-4 tomorrow and 9-5.30 Friday and then I'm FREE! Haha. Xxx

Thanks H means a lot ! I think it was the shock since she's been perfect at every app, she's being a minx now and worrying me. She has plenty of time to move so I'll stay positive after my mini meltdown today xxxxx

H, I am basically waiting for you to say that things are happening lol.
Your going to be the first one to look out for I think :) x
